Chapter 218: You Can't Escape!
The Helicarrier, the headquarters of the global organization S.H.I.E.L.D., was gone!
All the world's most elite top agents and precious scientists, gathered there, died in the nuclear blast along with the great Helicarrier!
Countless secret and vital pieces of information, for which only a single backup existed to prevent theft, were all buried, completely submerged in the dust of history, never to be recompiled by anyone again.
Since its founding after World War II, S.H.I.E.L.D. had monitored the globe for over half a century. All its efforts, today, under Tony's insane actions, suffered an unprecedentedly devastating blow.
The terrifying nuclear explosion devoured everything, triggering a horrific tsunami and an earthquake, and raising monstrous waves!
The mushroom cloud, symbolizing despair and death, soared into the sky, lingering for a long, long time, completely swallowing innumerable Vengeful Spirits.
"How could this happen? How could he dare?!" a high-level government official exclaimed in alarm, his entire body ice-cold as he collapsed into his seat, his face deathly pale.
He was not the only one; many others lost their composure even more dramatically.
Tony, a Mutant capable of igniting a global war, was a thorough Hardliner, not a moderate compromiser like Professor X!
He was even younger than Magneto, and even more insane, his methods far more reckless!
"This is a huge problem. Trying to talk politics and compromise with an impulsive, hysterical young man..." a member of a think tank shook his head helplessly, all composure lost, an expensive tie he had furiously torn in half still hanging around his neck.
"All we can hope for now is that he restrains himself as he did before, after he kills the Hulk," another person said with a bitter smile, his eyes bloodshot, completely at a loss as to how to deal with the ensuing mess.
Everyone had been deceived by Tony.
The Tony of the past was practically the standard template of a good citizen. After his Awakening, he didn't cause trouble or destruction, nor did he act like some hot-headed chunibyo youth, throwing on a hood at night to go out and be a Superhero.
People simply thought he was a well-behaved Mutant, easy to talk to as long as you didn't provoke him. In fact, Tony had acted exactly that way.
He became what many had hoped for, even to the point of being ridiculed and mocked by certain dark forces who couldn't stand it.
Level Four was a watershed moment. Secular powers could no longer easily threaten him. Even the most intimidating weapon, the nuclear bomb, had become his toy to use against S.H.I.E.L.D.
A Mutant who could control machines and use Space Magic was simply... unsolvable.
If you wanted to kill him, you first had to figure out how to take down his million-strong Transformer Legion. Even if you were lucky enough to defeat the Legion, he could use Magic to escape at any time.
"How did it come to this? What in the world is wrong with this world! He's so much younger than Magneto!" someone wailed.
The faces of many more looked as if they had eaten shit.
For the time being, no one dared to provoke Magneto and Professor X. Countless people used a hands-off approach, tolerating some of the outrageous actions of these two great Mutant Factions.
They were all hoping that the two poles of the Mutant world would exhaust their lifespans and simply die of old age.
Meticulous research had shown that the lifespans of these two Level Four Mutants were not significantly longer than those of ordinary humans. Decades of tracking and research were not for nothing.
Endure for a few more decades, and both of them would die of old age. That would be the time for them to reap the rewards. Professor X's brain and Magneto's Magnetokinesis would become prime targets for their research.
But then, out of nowhere, a Tony appeared—scheming, ruthless, and unstoppable.
At least, no one had found an effective way to kill Tony.
What was even more terrifying was that he was so young. It was entirely possible his abilities could also extend his life, making him long-lived like Mystique and Azazel.
"Forget about him for now. I'm more worried about S.H.I.E.L.D.! With its headquarters suddenly destroyed, the branches everywhere will be in chaos. So much high-end technology and secret data, as well as the most important top agents and scientists, are all dead. The whole world might fall into turmoil."
"Compared to that, I'm more fucking worried about who launched the nuclear bomb?!"
Agencies across the globe descended into chaos, with endless arguments breaking out. But no matter what, at least no one considered actively provoking Tony anymore.
What many didn't know was that the shockwave and radiation from this nuclear explosion in the Atlantic had also penetrated deep beneath the sea, disturbing a faction that had been in seclusion for a very, very long time.
Atlantis.
Atlantis, one of the Three Great Reclusive Forces on Earth.
...
"Roar!"
Predaking lunged forward once more. This time, he clamped his jaws firmly onto the Hulk's only remaining arm, refusing to let go no matter what.
Tony didn't want to wait any longer. He was growing impatient. Since those guys didn't want to come out, he would force them out.
Hulk's eyes were bloodshot, so red it was terrifying, as if they could burst at any moment. Drool streamed from his mouth. With his one remaining arm, he reached back, grabbed Predaking, and began smashing him furiously against his own knee.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
His strength had grown even greater, at least two hundred tons. Even Predaking, whose entire body was pieced together from Type II Metal, was having trouble withstanding it.
Predaking was different from the other Dinobots. His body was so massive that Tony had felt confident enough to fill it with a huge amount of Type II Metal, even directly grafting Secondary Adamantium onto some parts.
The terrifying power made even Predaking cry out in agony, but under Tony's Death Order, he kept his teeth clamped on the Hulk's arm, absolutely refusing to let go.
The surrounding Dinobots also charged forward, piling on top of each other layer by layer to trap the Hulk. Even if they could only provide the slightest hindrance, it was worth it.
With a cold expression, Tony raised his hand and used Magic. A new Portal opened once again, directly above the Hulk.
The threat of death stimulated the Hulk, sending him into a complete frenzy and stripping him of the last shred of his reason. A sense of crisis flooded the beast's brain, reducing him to a lowly creature driven solely by instinct.
"This time, even if I can't take your head, I'll dismember you... I refuse to believe your Regeneration is so invincible! For every one time you regenerate, I'll cut you ten times! Until I've ground you into nothing but meat paste!"
Tony bared his teeth in a wide grin. His square, resolute face revealed a viciousness far different from before, an aura capable of corrupting and eroding a heart full of light.
The Portal was visibly closing. The Hulk was going insane. Under the assault of the countless fearless Transformers, even Predaking's body was nearly torn in two and was not far from death, but this had successfully caused a momentary delay in the Hulk's movements.
An instant was all it took.
The Portal slowly closed. The Hulk's body could not yet contend with Spatial Power.
Then, in a flash, for some unknown reason, the Hulk vanished. Left in his place was only an inexplicably appearing... rabbit.
A small, white, hopping rabbit.
Its red eyes were quite cute.
The little rabbit hopped over and was snatched up in the hand of a Transformer. The little rabbit was terrified, kicking its hind legs feebly, leaving a small muddy print on the surface of the metal body.
The mud was still fresh, carrying the scent of fragrant grass.
Tony's face turned completely grim. His ferocious expression magnified to its extreme, becoming twisted, like a demon that had crawled out of Hell.
"Playing such a ridiculous trick right in front of my face?" Tony bared his sharp teeth. He knew that whoever had made the move could definitely see and hear him.
"No matter who you are, you can't escape!!!"
Tony completely lost it. He had considered many possibilities—someone intervening to snatch the Hulk, or even assassinating him directly. This Legion of several million was something Tony had meticulously prepared. He could even detonate this entire Legion in an instant, turning this area into a hellscape of flying metal fragments.
But looking at that little white rabbit, he felt his intelligence had been thoroughly mocked. A volcano of wrath brewed in his heart.
Dealing with someone with such a strong command of space wasn't difficult.
Tony had studied two types of Magic at Kamar-Taj. The Portal was only one of them; he still had a second card up his sleeve.
Something far more dangerous, something that could be called a Domain that mortals must not touch... Time Manipulation.
Tony was going to act, regardless of the consequences.
He was going to directly alter the Timeline.
