Chapter 219: Time Manipulation
Even in Kamar-Taj, often called the sacred land of cosmic magic, Time Manipulation was a forbidden spell.
This spell could directly modify time that had already become an established fact, returning to a previous scene, possessing an extraordinarily terrifying power.
Time is one of the most dangerous things in the universe. Every alteration to time, regardless of the starting point, will cause enormous changes.
The most terrifying thing was that Tony couldn't fully control Time Manipulation yet.
Precisely because he couldn't skillfully master it, this spell became even more uncontrollable and terrifying!
Tony was cornered; otherwise, he would never have resorted to such a dangerous spell!
"I don't care who you are. If you want to snatch the Hulk from under my nose, you will pay a heavy price!"
Tony's face was grim and cold, like a ferocious and crazed malevolent spirit. He extended his palm, using one of the only two spells he had ever researched in Kamar-Taj.
It was the spell he had kept as his trump card, and now, he was using it without regard for the consequences!
A peculiar magical frequency emanated from Tony, reaching into an inaccessible dimension. From the present moment, it began to modify current time, one could even say, initiating a small-scale reboot.
Even if it was just for a few short seconds, it was enough to cause catastrophic consequences.
At that moment, silently, the timeline underwent an earth-shattering change! In an instant, as if the scene was rewinding, everything began to regress to the scene a few seconds ago.
The little rabbit kicked a Transformer, then hopped in place... everything was reversing, and it seemed something even more dangerous was happening.
In a domain untouchable by countless lifeforms, a great storm had already been stirred up. A tiny change in the timeline had led to the birth of innumerable new multiverses.
The multiverse itself represents infinite possibilities. When faced with Tony's crude use of Time Manipulation, this became incredibly terrifying.
Countless dimensions, countless timelines, and countless newly born universes underwent cataclysmic changes due to Tony's seemingly simple action.
There were good outcomes and bad ones, but for certain individuals, the implications were even more staggering.
The Speed Force Wall, which, as an immensely powerful entity that envelops every remote corner of the multiverse, had its collective consciousness stirred. An unreachable, great power suddenly awoke, as if a pair of eyes were coldly looking down upon something.
In that brief instant, the collective consciousness explored a vast number of worlds, silently observing and suppressing, carrying an indescribable dissatisfaction and irritability that filled the Speedsters in countless universes with dread.
A large number of Speedsters who controlled the Speed Force began to run, entering the Speed Force Wall at hundreds or thousands of times the speed of sound, trying to find the cause of the Speed Force's violent disturbance, but they found nothing.
They wanted to call out to the Speed Force's collective consciousness, but it had already fallen back into a slumber, carrying a rage and deep dissatisfaction that made the Speedsters' blood run cold.
The vast energies of the Speed Force also began to run rampant, but they were quickly and forcibly suppressed by the collective consciousness of the Speed Force Wall.
It seemed that something that shouldn't have happened, had happened. It was highly irrational. Tony was still completely unaware of the collective consciousness's displeasure, nor could he have imagined what troublesome consequences his actions had caused.
"Even if it triggers changes in numerous newborn parallel universes, I will drag you bastard out! You can't escape!!!" Tony said with a chilling voice.
The temporal backlash surged forth immediately, slamming into Tony's body and soul, causing him to let out a pained howl. He spat out a mouthful of blood, and slowly, blood began to trickle from his eyes, nose, and ears.
In just a few seconds, the temporal backlash from altering time had dealt Tony a cruel blow.
Tony was well aware that altering time that had already become fact would lead to the birth of many parallel universes. But unfortunately, this small action of his seemed to have intentionally or unintentionally involved something far more profound.
Logically speaking, there were far too many beings in this multiverse capable of Time Manipulation, but to startle and even enrage the Speed Force Wall was exceedingly rare.
It seemed that something that should not have happened, had happened. And Tony, for some reason, either by coincidence or by inevitability, had triggered this irrational event.
The wrath from the Speed Force Wall sent shivers down the spines of countless Speedsters across the multiverse.
No one knew the reason; not even those Singular Beings who roamed beyond the Omni-Sphere World felt a deep confusion and bewilderment at the Speed Force's unease and fury.
Time was slowly rewinding, like a broken mirror being made whole again, every scene flowing in reverse.
No matter how small the modification, when magnified across the infinite multiverse, it became an earth-shattering event.
Tony could even clearly hear screams and curses coming from an unknown space.
It was a very strange language; he couldn't understand it, but he could clearly comprehend what the other party was expressing.
"For fuck's sake, was that really necessary?!"
That was the most fitting translation Tony could come up with.
The comical little white rabbit disappeared, and the Hulk reappeared. It was still the same Hulk with one arm torn off, his eyes red, roaring with rage.
Like a beast, he charged relentlessly toward Tony. He had long since lost what little sanity he had, reduced to a complete and utter beast, with no sensation of what had just transpired.
The Transformers began to stir, surrounding the Hulk, intercepting him without fear of death.
The heavily wounded Predaking also summoned his last breath and lunged forward to tear at the Hulk.
Tony had long since become a blood-soaked mess. The terrifying backlash from the Time Manipulation had severely wounded his body and soul. He was lucky that the Speed Force Wall, for some unknown reason, hadn't acted against him even in its rage.
Otherwise, a hundred million Tonys wouldn't be enough for the Speed Force Wall to kill. For it to erase someone from the multiverse was almost too easy; it just had to erase Tony from the upstream of countless timelines.
Then, across all the countless universes and timelines of the past and future, the person known as Tony would have never existed.
Tony spat out a mouthful of blood and cursed under his breath, realizing that altering just a few seconds had caused such terrifying consequences. He felt a bit jealous; Doctor Strange had been favored by the Vishanti right from his debut, constantly protected by a massive amount of mystic energy. Even when Doctor Strange acted recklessly on occasion, there were no dangerous consequences, let alone any temporal backlash.
This was the fundamental difference between an ordinary 'pay-to-win' player and an 'overpowered cheat' player.
"This time, let's see who comes to save you!"
Tony's face was grim. He was drenched in blood, with every pore seeping it. If it weren't for the constant empowerment of the Allspark, which was evolving him in every aspect, his body and soul would have long since collapsed.
A portal opened and moved to envelop the Hulk. A fatal sense of suffocation swept over the Hulk, bringing with it an inescapable hysteria and despair.
This time, no one came to save him.
Everyone was terrified.
