Chapter 608 Escape

In front of Snowball, mere Sentinel Robots were still easily dealt with. Without Gwen even needing to lift a finger, the headless Sentinel Robot under her feet became her exclusive bodyguard.

"Just as expected."

Gwen, under her mask, slightly curved the corner of her mouth. Machine guards like these generally have their own independent network, precisely to prevent external hacking into the robots' network, thereby causing unpredictable consequences.

Without network connection, even Upgrade wouldn't be able to control Sentinel Robots out of thin air, but physical contact is a different story. The result also proved Gwen's conjecture to be correct.

As long as she had one Sentinel Robot, Gwen could rely on Snowball to reverse engineer through the robot's sub-network of that individual robot, thereby control the entire Sentinel Robot army.

However, operating in this way would very likely attract Hyperion. Not wanting to confront him head-on, Gwen didn't plan to make big news. If she just wanted to escape, it wouldn't be worth so much trouble.

Controlling just one Sentinel Robot is enough. These robots only carry very simple AI. To prevent them from killing each other or opening fire on ordinary people, Howard wrote down strict orders when writing the program.

In other words, all their behavioral patterns will avoid these two. So, the Sentinel controlled by Gwen will attack other Sentinels, but conversely, they will not attack it.

"My summer practice homework was better than this."

Gwen, swinging webs and leaving the encirclement, couldn't help but complain. Now that the trouble has been resolved, it's time to find Katie.

Just now, she and Katie had decided on this strategy: she would act as bait to lure away all Sentinel Robots, and Katie would then seize the opportunity to escape. Finally, the two of them would find a place to meet up again.

The first step of the plan has been completed. Now it's time to carry out the final step, the rendezvous.

Gwen then raised her right hand. The Snowball battle suit very humanely conjured up a screen for her. On it was playing a map, and in the map, a small red dot was constantly moving.

That small red dot was Katie. Gwen had placed a tracker on her, which would save a lot of time.

Projecting the map onto her visor, Gwen shot out webs and waved at the headless Sentinel in the distance who was wreaking havoc, saying.

"Bye-bye, good child."

Turning around in loose-fitting clothes and wearing a baseball cap, Katie tried hard not to look suspicious. She pretended to walk down the street as if nothing had happened, only occasionally moving her line of sight as if curiously looking at the shop on the street side.

Katie's footsteps were not slow. Except for the beginning when she could run a few steps quickly because she was mixed in with the crowd of fleeing people, when the crowd calmed down later, she had to slow down her footsteps in order not to arouse suspicion.

Fortunately, everyone had their own business to do, and plus Gwen had caused a relatively big commotion, so no one noticed her, such a nobody. In this way, Katie smoothly walked out of half a block.

'Beep beep!'

Feeling the vibration from the wristband on her wrist, Katie understood. This wristband was given to her by Gwen. The other party told her that with this, even if they were separated by a nation, she wouldn't get lost.

"Hey! Katie!"

Just as Katie's eyes were scanning around, looking for Gwen's figure, someone called out to her not far away. She subconsciously looked up and found that the person who called out to her was indeed Gwen.

The other party's appearance at this time was completely unlike someone who had just experienced a battle. Not only that, Gwen was even holding a drink in her hand. Her refreshed and leisurely appearance was just like an ordinary girl waiting to meet up with a friend and then go out to play together.

"Gw... Gwen?" Katie was stunned. The scene in front of her was completely different from what she had imagined. Weren't they still in a life-and-death escape just a second ago?

"It's me." Gwen finished the last bit of drink in her cup in one gulp, and then casually threw it into the trash can behind her.

"What's wrong? Aren't we going to the shopping mall? What are you still standing there for?"

Perhaps she was tired of waiting, Gwen stepped forward two steps and took Katie's right hand. The two of them set off hand-in-hand like this.

"But... you... I..." Katie stammered, not knowing how to open her mouth. She was afraid that if she opened her mouth, she would give herself away, letting everyone on the street know that they were superhuman who were escaping pursuit.

"Don't worry, it's all resolved." Gwen said with a normal expression. "Just a bunch of bad dogs, nothing to be afraid of."

"Then we are now..."

"Going to the shopping mall? Didn't I just say that? Are you worried about me being injured? Don't worry, a bunch of Chihuahuas can't hurt me."

Katie was dragged by Gwen to stroll around the shopping mall for half a day. Finally, after finishing lunch, she was dragged by Gwen again to come to a warehouse.

"What kind of place is this?" Katie looked at the warehouse covered in graffiti with some unease.

This place looked like the kind of place that those street thugs like to come to. Tasteless graffiti was everywhere. Katie couldn't even tell what the original color of the wall was anymore.

She didn't even dare to look down, for fear of seeing some balloons filled with white liquid, or various needles.

"The place we're going to live next." Gwen said in the most peaceful tone, saying the words Katie least wanted to hear. The latter only felt like she was falling into the abyss.

"Do we have to live here, Gwen?" Katie's foot seemed to have taken root, and she wouldn't even move a step. "I can go to work, let's still find a cheaper hotel."

"Why live in such an unsafe place?" Gwen frowned tightly. "I don't want to live in a place where you open the drawer and it's all 'chewing gum', and the bed and stuff must be dirty as death."

'Is this place any better?' Katie shouted in her heart in despair. But seeing that Gwen seemed determined to live on the street, and worried about Gwen, she couldn't just turn around and leave her alone. Helpless, she could only honestly follow behind Gwen.

Gwen seemed to be very familiar with this place. Walking to the modified door of the warehouse, she skillfully pressed a large red button next to the door. The next second, a doorbell that could be described as ear-piercing rang.

"Beep beep beep beep beep!"

Katie was so frightened that she shrank her neck. She looked up at Gwen and found that the other party also looked very uncomfortable.

"She still hasn't changed it." Gwen weakly supported her forehead, looking listless.

"Hey hey hey!" After the doorbell, a sound came from the door access control. Katie couldn't help but frown. Why was this sound so familiar? It seemed like she had been hearing it recently.

"Open the door, it's me, Gwen." Gwen ignored Katie behind her who had fallen into thought, and communicated with the person on the other side of the door access control on her own. But after she finished speaking, Katie immediately understood.

The sound coming from the other side of the door access control, wasn't it Gwen's sound? Although it was a bit messy because of Mike, Katie would definitely not mistake it.
