Chapter 607: Entanglement
The loud explosion startled Jimmy, causing him to drop the Hot Dog he was holding onto the Ground.
"Bang! Crackle!"
Immediately following was another loud bang. Jimmy's eyes quickly found the source of the Sound: downstairs, at the base of that Apartment Building.
A Sentinel Robot was lying on a sports car parked on the Roadside. The Robot no longer looked as imposing as it did in the Visuals on TV.
The damaged Armor, exposed Wire, and occasional sparks made people wonder if they would ignite the Gasoline leaking from the sports car.
"Ah!"
No one knew who screamed first, but after this Starting Gun, the Crowd immediately panicked. People consciously started to distance themselves from the accident Aspect, afraid of getting caught in the Danger.
In just a few minutes, most of the Civilians had evacuated the Street. Their Speed was as if they had been trained. Anyone would have to marvel at their professional efficiency.
Jimmy and his friends, who knew what was about to happen, were actually among the slowest to leave. But it didn't matter much; they were here to watch the show and make some extra Money by Video Recording.
Jimmy's Partner pushed him aside, grabbed the Recorder, and took the Position with the best Field of Vision. If the Video didn't have a good angle or was blurry, they wouldn't make any Money.
The Sentinel Robot lying on the sports car was clearly not destroyed yet. It was struggling to stand up, but something, perhaps a broken Module, was preventing it.
It looked both ridiculous and pathetic.
Seeing that the Sentinel Robot couldn't stand up, Jimmy and the others knew this wasn't over. Ordinary People might not realize it, but they had Reported incidents before and witnessed big events, so they knew better.
Once a Sentinel Robot encountered strong Resistance or sustained Damage, it would send an SOS signal. Reinforcements of Sentinel Robots would arrive within minutes.
"Whoosh!"
Sure enough, the Sound of Air Being Torn quickly approached. Jimmy and the others looked up to see several Sentinel Robots of different Forms Gliding through the Air, heading towards the Apartment with a large Hole in it.
"Please cease your Resistance immediately," several Sentinel Robots hovered in front of the Apartment, issuing a loud Warning in an emotionless Electronic Voice.
"If you continue your Stubborn Resistance, we will resort to Forceful Measures, and you are very likely to sustain Damage."
The cold Electronic Voice, combined with the Heavy Firepower Armament of the Sentinel Robots, sent chills down the spines of even Jimmy and the others watching from afar.
Probably only a Powerful Being like Hyperion could remain calm and collected in this Situation. Those dozen or so aiming Red Lines were truly terrifying.
Jimmy swallowed hard, his Eyes fixed on the distance, afraid of missing any exciting Visuals. He was now very curious to see what a Superhuman capable of taking down a Sentinel Robot would look like.
"Whoosh!"
Invisible to the naked eye, but through the Recorder's Viewfinder, Jimmy and the others saw a slender Thing shoot out from the Hole in the Apartment and stick directly to the lead Sentinel Robot.
"What's that?" someone wondered aloud. Unfortunately, no one could answer his Problem because their Recorder was cheap and couldn't clearly capture such a slender Thing at that Distance.
But they soon wouldn't care about that anymore.
"Whoosh!"
Another Sound of Air Being Torn. A Figure in black and white burst out of the Apartment through the Hole. Then, that slender, Rope-like Thing shot towards the Sentinel Robots hovering in the Air.
The black and white Figure was fast, but the Sentinel Robots were faster. Dozens of Weapons of various Forms, already prepared, locked on instantly. Deafening Gunshots and constant Muzzle Flash filled Jimmy and the others' Senses.
The Bullets formed an impenetrable Storm of Steel. Just as the black and white Figure seemed doomed, the Situation changed once more.
The black and white Figure in Mid-air suddenly emitted small sparks of pink Streaming Light, which stretched longer and longer as it moved at high Speed, as dreamy as a Meteor streaking across the sky.
The next second, those pink Streaming Lights suddenly exploded, transforming into terrifying Electric Snakes that surged through the Net of Fire of Bullets. Before Jimmy and the others could understand what was happening, the Figure had already broken through the Storm of Steel.
"Bang!"
The Speed, faster than Human Vision could perceive, finally stopped. Jimmy and the others could finally see the True Identity of the Figure. Even through the blurry Viewfinder, they could make out the opponent's slender Build.
"Those two Girls are incredibly strong..." Jimmy was so Shocked he couldn't close his Mouth.
Ignoring the Shocked Ordinary People, Gwen, having broken through the Net of Fire, crouched on the Sentinel Robot's Front Armor, tapped on its Helmet, and said in a relaxed tone.
"Hello! Anybody home?"
"Please cease your actions! You are damaging Stark Industries' Property!"
Hearing these Words, Gwen just Sneered in disdain. Destroying Property? With that Firepower just moments ago, if **Snowflake** hadn't helped, even she would have been killed instantly. Since they were so ruthless, they shouldn't complain about her being ruthless in return.
After all, they were just Robots without Personality.
A brief moment of thought was enough for Gwen to decide her Style of action. Before the Sentinel Robot could issue a second Warning, her Hand shot out towards the Robot's Head.
"Say goodnight!"
The Bio-Electrostatics from her Spider Ability made Gwen's Hand stick firmly to the Sentinel Robot's Head. As she put strength into her Arm, she effortlessly ripped the Robot's Head off.
Unfortunately, the Sentinel Robot's Control System wasn't located in its Head. However, the damaged Camera still caused some problems, preventing it from seeing its surrounding Environment.
For a Creature, this would be a major Problem, but for Robots programmed to achieve their Goal no matter what, it was insignificant.
"Beep! Beep! Beep beep beep beep!"
An urgent Alarm Sound blared. Even an Ordinary Person would understand what that meant. Clearly, the Robot was preparing for Self-Destruction.
"Naive," Gwen said, raising an eyebrow. Her Nano-crystal Battle Suit, fitting like a second Skin, allowed her Expression to be visible even through her Mask.
Gwen placed her Palm on the Sentinel Robot's Body. Unseen by the naked eye, Nanite Robots seeped into the Sentinel Robot's Inside Body.
"Crackling!"
Accompanied by a burst of Electric Current Sound, the Sentinel Robot, which had been blaring the Alarm, suddenly fell silent. But it quickly began a new action.
"Hum!"
The Sentinel Robot, now headless, raised both Hands, and the Armament attached to its Body activated as well. This time, it aimed its Goal at its Compatriot Sentinels.
"Bang!" Gwen said with a smile.
The Words had barely left her Mouth when Muzzle Flash erupted.
