Chapter 807

Chapter 791: Backup Plan

Every time Darkseid saw a Boom Tube appear on his planet, he would have an ominous premonition.

The first time, Ancient Doomsday came over, gave him a thorough beating, and after wreaking havoc on Apokolips, casually departed.

The second time, it attracted Eternity, who fought a great battle with Darkseid.

This was the third time...

Darkseid watched indifferently as the Boom Tube rapidly vanished. On the other end of the tube, Nekron merely stared over coldly. The two powerful deities faced each other, separated by the Boom Tube.

Nekron ultimately chose not to enter Apokolips. The Sphere of the Gods was not his domain; the Multiverse was.

Tony spat out a mouthful of blood, turned his head, and watched the Boom Tube disappear with a look of regret, murmuring, "He actually didn't come through..."

Darkseid remained expressionless, but the giant hand resting casually on the armrest of his throne quietly clenched, creating a large crack in it.

This bastard truly treated Apokolips like a garbage dump, trying to throw any and every monster onto it.

"I originally intended to lead him to Apokolips so that I could escape."

Tony looked up at Darkseid, who exuded an immense, oppressive aura, and said regretfully.

Tony had no choice but to flee to Apokolips. If he had fled anywhere else, like Cybertron, Nekron would have surely followed through the Boom Tube to kill him.

Darkseid revealed a cold smile. "Now you have no choice. You either die by my hand or you submit to me. However, with your shattered godhead, you've already lost all value."

The godhead is the culmination of everything a Singular God is. If the godhead is shattered by an external force, while it won't kill the Singular God on the spot, the best-case scenario is a drastic drop in power, or even falling directly into an eternal slumber.

Eternal slumber is more terrifying than death itself.

Tony could feel his godhead fragmenting. The blow Nekron dealt him had struck the godhead directly. This thing, the core of Tony's entire being, was already beginning to dissipate.

Without some special means, the collapse of his godhead was only a matter of time, and Tony's main body would die—eternal slumber was useless, as Darkseid would never accept a powerless waste.

Apokolips is a world where the weak are prey to the strong. Even if its ruler, Darkseid, were to be crippled one day, countless individuals would raise their slaughtering blades against him, without ever considering if he might one day recover.

"If you're going to kill me, now's the time," Tony said.

"As you wish."

A red light flared in Darkseid's eyes, and he fired his Omega Beams directly at him.

Bang!

Tony manipulated the three Mother Boxes to block the two powerful beams. With just this simple action, the rate at which his godhead was shattering intensified.

Repairing a godhead is a very troublesome process. At the very least, he would have to find a way to expel the remnants of Nekron's power tainting it, but that was far too difficult.

And the trickiest part was that Tony was, in essence, only Level Seven. Even though he was a Singular God, he was just a Level Seven Singular God, incapable of purging the Dark Power Nekron had left on him.

His fingers twitched, and a Black Lantern Ring materialized in the palm of his hand, emitting a dark, glossy sheen.

"What are you trying to do?" Darkseid asked indifferently.

Tony didn't answer. He took the Black Lantern Ring and slipped it directly onto his finger. The next second, before Nekron's willpower could overwhelm him, he calmly took out the Mother Boxes.

"Still want to kill me?" Tony sneered.

Darkseid sneered back but didn't act immediately.

Tony curled his lip. The three Mother Boxes collided, opening a Boom Tube that propelled his escape from Apokolips.

Darkseid did not try to stop him, merely watching quietly as Tony departed.

Just then, Steppenwolf hurried over and asked, "Where's Tony?"

Darkseid looked at him coldly.

"That bastard killed several of my avatars! He must pay the price! I can sense that he's also heavily injured; he can't even contain his informational signature."

Steppenwolf's heart skipped a beat, and he explained in a solemn tone.

"I've always felt that you were hiding something from me," Darkseid said suddenly.

"No! You are the master of Apokolips! How could I hide anything from you!"

"I hope so..."

After leaving the great hall, Steppenwolf raised his head, his face ashen and his heart filled with anxiety.

"Did that bastard Tony say something to Darkseid? That faithless scoundrel, sooner or later, I'll cut him down with my own hands!" Steppenwolf raged internally.

According to the agreement between him and Tony, knowledge of the Anti-Life Equation was to be limited to just the two of them. But now... Darkseid's suspicion was growing by the day, which terrified Steppenwolf, who knew all too well how tyrannical Darkseid could be.

Now, he could no longer afford to care why Tony came to Apokolips. His mind was completely consumed with guarding against a potential sneak attack from Darkseid.

Darkseid watched indifferently as his uncle retreated with a look of humility. He casually crushed the armrest of his throne and gazed down quietly upon Apokolips, which glowed with a malevolent red light.

On this planet, sin occurred at every moment. Good people could not survive here.

His main body returned from Apokolips and immediately crashed down on Earth.

On his godhead, the dense dark aura came into contact with the power surging from the Black Lantern Ring and began to expand wildly as Darkness rapidly invaded the godhead.

Tony could clearly feel Nekron's gaze crossing the distant boundaries of space-time, fixed firmly on his godhead. Those cold eyes gave Tony the feeling that all his secrets had been laid bare.

In fact, this was true. The godhead was a Singular God's greatest secret. To analyze the profound mysteries of a Singular God, one only needed to analyze the godhead.

No matter how you looked at it, by putting on the Black Lantern Ring, Tony was courting death.

Seriously courting death.

In terms of power, he was inferior to Nekron. His only advantage was the willpower of a Singular God, but that was far from enough for Tony to break free from Nekron's shackles.

At the same time, on the other side of Earth, his avatar felt a Dark Power that had begun to travel along the connection between him and his main body, coiling around his own one-tenth of a godhead. He couldn't help but frown and curse inwardly at the trouble.

It was too unexpected.

He hadn't expected Nekron to finish charging his power so quickly. How much time had passed since the Blackest Night began? How many lives had Nekron killed using his Black Lanterns?

It just didn't make sense.

"There's no other way. I still haven't found the Life Entity, let alone made contact with it ahead of time."

The avatar shook his head and could only begin to activate his backup plan. In that instant, a portal opened, and seven Lantern Entities were forcibly dragged from Cybertron to Earth by Tony.

The Life Entity hadn't appeared, and his main body was entangled with Nekron. As the avatar, he had to do something. Otherwise, not only would both of his selves gain nothing, but they would also likely lose their lives in the process.

"Too much information from my godhead has already been leaked. This is also a problem..."
