Chapter 98: Do You Bleed? (3)
By: Great Demon Spirit
In order to activate the electromagnets capable of restraining the massive Transformers, Bruce drained all of Gotham City's power at once, barely managing to restrict their movements.
As a result, Gotham City was plunged into immense panic.
This was no longer a regional blackout but a city-wide power outage, a rare occurrence for a metropolis of tens of millions like Gotham City. Citizens frantically went online for help, only to find that it was the only city affected.
"Damn it, what new trouble is this? Isn't this city chaotic enough?! When will these days ever end!"
"I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore! I just can't live like this."
The citizens clamored, their hearts, already panicked by the recent surge in crime rates, were now even more distraught and helpless.
This city-wide blackout also thoroughly alarmed certain hidden figures. It seemed they could no longer remain passive.
An astonishing amount of electricity was transmitted through the cables in an instant to the outskirts of the Old City. Electromagnets covered the ground within a several-kilometer radius. It was clear that Bruce had poured countless resources into dealing with Tony.
And it did indeed have some effect.
"You're going to lose terribly today," Batman said. "I have studied your Transformers meticulously. I have reviewed all your battle records and simulated countless scenarios on the computer."
A signal was transmitted from Batman, as if awakening a chilling Super Weapon. Along both sides of the road, several missile silos slowly emerged from the ground. Inside them were strange-looking small missiles.
"Missiles? You want to use these things against me?" Tony raised an eyebrow, looking amused, almost laughing in anger, a perfectly timed sneer spreading across his face. A thought, however, flashed through his mind: *Had he taken this too far?*
He had foolishly come here to have this showdown with Bruce. On the surface, it seemed to be a conflict of ideals, a genuine battle. But what was the truth? A fight was necessary. He was genuinely dissatisfied with some of Bruce's philosophies and came here half-serious and half-acting. However, in truth, he had a more important goal...
One Transformer assembled a cannon and blasted a missile silo directly, destroying its launch mechanism in an instant. The other Transformers aimed straight at Bruce and began a barrage. Amidst the hail of bullets, Bruce held one hand in front of his head, his entire armor remaining completely unscathed.
A more concealed missile silo took aim at Tony. A specially made small missile *whooshed* out, crashing into a Transformer at astonishing speed!
With a deafening *boom*, the spiraling missile actually pierced right through the Transformer! The moment it penetrated, the missile produced a relatively small explosion, yet almost instantly released a terrifyingly high temperature. Molten metal was visible at the Transformer's wound site.
High-temperature armor-piercing rounds!
The true Super Weapon for dealing with Transformers!
Tony's expression instantly darkened. High-temperature armor-piercing rounds. Even in the movies, a true organic lifeform from Cybertron would suffer terrible trauma if hit by one of these. In the movie versions, low-level Cybertronians were completely unable to resist 6000-degree high-temperature armor-piercing rounds. Only Optimus Prime, Megatron, or a second-tier Transformer like Bumblebee had some resistance to 6000-degree armor-piercing rounds.
"Against your war machines, mere external explosions are of little use. Only armor penetration is effective. Although armor-piercing rounds do only minimal damage to these massive Transformers, I am using 3000-degree high-temperature armor-piercing rounds. With a sufficient quantity, they can be completely destroyed."
Batman stood there, the powerful electromagnetic field making even his movements difficult. He said, "Each of these specially made armor-piercing rounds costs three million dollars, and I have secretly deployed dozens of missile silos! Tony, surrender. I don't want to kill you!"
Tony's face was cold. No wonder they say Batman's superpower is his wealth. Give him time and data to prepare, and he could even kill a god for you. Right now, only Optimus Prime and Arcee, whom he had meticulously modified, could withstand the 3000-degree high-temperature armor-piercing rounds. The other Transformers, however, couldn't. They would still suffer significant damage against such armor-piercing rounds.
Innumerable amounts of Allspark Energy were released by Tony. These fine particles quickly adhered to Optimus Prime and Arcee. The other Transformers only received a token gesture, casually covered with a single layer.
Tony remained silent. Amidst the harsh screech of scraping metal, all the Transformers, with their several-meter-tall bodies, virtually became turrets, unleashing a barrage of cannon fire in all directions. A large number of missile silos were destroyed, and the missiles they carried detonated on the spot, creating massive explosions. The terrifying heat melted the ground.
Batman snorted coldly. More silos swiveled to aim at Tony, the sound of whooshing filling the air. A large number of high-temperature armor-piercing rounds rushed toward Tony, brimming with chilling killing intent.
Under Tony's control, several Transformers formed a barrier and instantly assembled massive, thick shields. Tony purposefully infused the shields with Allspark Energy to resist the high-temperature armor-piercing rounds.
Even low-level Cybertronian lifeforms had to be extremely cautious against high-temperature armor-piercing rounds, so Tony's caution was not excessive.
Several Transformers formed layers of defense, surrounding Tony in the center. Seizing the opportunity created by the explosions, Tony stepped forward abruptly. In just a few steps, he crossed dozens of meters and charged toward Batman.
"Your Iron Suit has weaknesses too. You really think Vibranium and Adamantium are invincible? Are the joints of your armor also made from them?" Tony sneered, a flicker of anger rising within him.
Amidst the flying debris from explosions and the intense heat, Tony rushed in front of Batman the moment his other Transformers drew fire. He formed one hand into a Hand Blade, and after ducking under a bomb thrown by his opponent, he chopped straight at the elbow of the steel arm. Tony scraped past the outer layer of Vibranium plating on the armor. In a fluid motion, the watch on his wrist transformed into a sharp blade, viciously striking at the vulnerable joint!
With a jarring screech, the steel arm was damaged. Flickering sparks indicated its damaged state.
"Huh, this armor of yours actually..." Tony retreated abruptly in a flash, looking at his opponent with some surprise.
At this moment, the rain began to subside, no longer the oppressive downpour that had made movement impossible. The small animals, hiding and trembling somewhere, finally had a chance to catch their breath.
At some unknown time, a small owl glided lightly across the night sky. It was soaked to the bone, its flight path crooked and unsteady in the rain. It finally managed to find the corner of a ruined building and landed steadily on it.
It shook the rainwater from its feathers, completely unafraid of the violent explosions. It occasionally looked with its large eyes at Tony and Batman in the distance, seemingly very curious.
Owls prefer to come out at night.
