Chapter 260

Chapter 255: Agalas Sanctuary

Author: Great Demon Spirit

In the vast and boundless cosmic expanse, beyond the endless three-dimensional world that people knew, there were also numerous strange and wondrous dimensions intertwined with one another, as well as a great number of temporary or semi-permanent smaller pocket dimensions derived from them.

Occasionally, visitors from alternate universes also wandered through the cosmos.

The splendor of this universe was beyond imagination, and it had also given birth to far too many miracles.

In this vast world, when one spoke of magic, two universally acknowledged, strongest sacred lands would come to mind.

One, it was said, originated from a remote planet in a remote star system. Its renown was relatively low, but its ruler was a ruthless character who had, in the past, slain a great number of powerful beings. Many of them were famous in their own right, yet all were killed by that individual, their corpses becoming her spoils of war.

It could be said that the reputation of that place on a distant planet, called "Kamar-Taj," was carved out through sheer bloodshed by its ruler. That woman, named the Ancient One, was rumored to have pushed the power of magic to its absolute limit, capable of tearing apart vast swathes of space and shattering the indestructible fabric of time with a mere flick of her wrist.

But compared to the other place, Kamar-Taj was ultimately more than just a step behind.

After all, Kamar-Taj's fame had been forged by the Ancient One through endless slaughter, built upon the corpses of evil creatures abhorred by other worlds. Its various powerful magical secret arts were only revered by the beings from other planets because they were wielded by the Ancient One.

The other sacred land, however, was the true sacred land of magic.

Powerful, tolerant, open, rich, prosperous…

It seemed as though all the most beautiful words could be used to describe this holy place, without any sense of incongruity.

The number one sacred land of magic was—Agalas Sanctuary.

Throughout the endless ages, the second-ranked sacred land of magic had changed more than once, but Agalas Sanctuary alone had always occupied the top position, praised by countless cosmic beings.

Every being who came here, regardless of their background, strength, or temperament, would be stunned by its prosperity and openness, and captivated by the gentle yet solemn demeanor of its mages.

Agalas Sanctuary was the combination of all things beautiful, the pinnacle of achievement for all who walked the path of magic, a rare, sacred pure land in the universe.

At this moment, within the sanctified brilliance of Agalas Sanctuary, the mages, who favored white robes, were going about their business.

Yet in this very place, a petite figure clad all in black walked slowly, looking utterly out of place.

With her head bowed low and her all-black attire, she was incredibly conspicuous in this place where every inch of land radiated a noble and pure aura.

Perhaps it was a trick of the mind, but some of the more powerful mages could even sense a repulsive… demonic aura from the petite figure brushing past them.

It was an aura from the Demon World, a place brimming with sin and darkness.

But every person who walked past her was a mage of impeccable character. The gazes they cast her way held not revulsion, but undisguised pity.

As if sensing the compassion of those around her, the person hidden beneath the black robes bowed her head even lower. Within her wide sleeves, her hands, which contained demonic power, clenched tightly, even trembling from time to time.

She slowly ascended the high platform, one step at a time, each stair radiating pure magic power. This made her feel that every second she spent in this world was a defilement of its sanctity.

No conflict, no death, no bloodshed, no hatred. Even exhausting all the beautiful words in existence could not describe this place.

She loved it here, but she did not belong. She was a person who, by birth, symbolized sin and calamity.

Slowly, she reached the highest point. There, the ruler of Agalas Sanctuary was waiting quietly for her.

"We have some matters to attend to, which might take a little time." The elder, a perpetual, serene smile on his face, looked at her peacefully, his gaze filled with the same pity.

"Where are you going? Oh, right. I've caused you a lot of trouble. I should leave now, otherwise 'he' will come looking…" she said in a low voice, not even daring to lift her head to look at this place, her entire body trembling slightly.

"You're overthinking things. If I wanted you to leave, why would I have taken the risk of accepting you in the first place? What a silly child…" The elder chuckled in amusement, affectionately patted her shoulder. "The aura of sacred magic here must be very uncomfortable for you. Endure it for a while longer. When we return, we will help you expel all of your demonic power and grant you the purest magic physique."

"Raven, you will forever escape the shadow of that devil and become a powerful mage."

The elder used his calming words to comfort this girl named Raven, who possessed demonic power.

"Where are you going? Can I go with you?" Raven lifted her head, revealing a face with four blood-red eyes.

This girl named Raven had four crimson, pupil-less eyes—a symbol of a pure demonic physique. If Raven were in the Hell World, she would likely have limitless potential as the next archdemon.

"Earth, a very, very distant place. We are going there to expel the darkness." The elder's expression gradually grew serious. "We will join forces with the Ancient One of Kamar-Taj to kill the master of the Dark Dimension."

"Will you succeed?"

"Of course, my child. Agalas Sanctuary, Kamar-Taj, and the Rock of Eternity. If even this alliance cannot kill that creature, then this universe would have been devoured by darkness long ago."

The elder was very confident. The alliance of factions representing three powerful magical legacies would certainly be able to kill Dormammu.

Outside the Dark Dimension, Dormammu was, at best, only a peak demigod. As long as they could suppress or even sever the connection between Dormammu and the dark core for a short time, they could kill him.

And as for using powerful sacred magic to sever darkness, that was what Agalas Sanctuary excelled at. Otherwise, Raven would not have sought them out when she had nowhere else to turn.

He still remembered when Raven first arrived at their door. Many mages, sensing the pure demonic aura, had thought a demon had come for revenge and had clamored to expel the demon.

But when they saw Raven standing at the edge of the sanctuary, her four eyes constantly shedding tears of blood, her small body trembling uncontrollably, they fell silent.

Taking in Raven was an extremely immense risk.

Because the one frantically hunting Raven across universes was her father, the archdemon of Hell named Trigon.

And Trigon's power was... multiverse-level. Moreover, he was a "unique" being, born with the ability to ignore time, surpassing nearly every other living thing in the entire multiverse.

But Agalas Sanctuary did it anyway. They took Raven in, trying every method and expending countless precious materials to expel the demonic aura and demonic bloodline from Raven's body, but to little avail.

"I have already found a way to purify your body. This time, it will surely succeed."

The elder began to walk slowly. He raised a hand slightly, and a spell filled with a sacred aura erupted into existence. Multiple locations throughout Agalas Sanctuary began to erupt with magical light, jointly constructing a white portal.

Raven's body curled into a ball, trembling slightly. She had a violent reaction to the sacred, bright magic.

"Don't be afraid, child. When we return, everything will be better."
