Chapter 239

Chapter 235: Allspark VS Magnetic Field

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

"In the past, I've seen many talented people, but they died for various reasons. Tony, you'll be next." Magneto said coldly, "Do you think that toy of yours is of any use against me?"

Magneto sneered and gestured. The magnetic field in his hand would be amplified to its extreme; anything that could be controlled by a magnetic field was powerless against him.

An immense control spread from Magneto, instantly seizing the Predaking beneath Tony's feet.

"This is the first step, then comes the second..."

Magneto wanted to control Predaking and throw Tony off, but to his surprise, it had no effect.

Predaking only swayed in the air, viciously shaking its head. The momentary loss of bodily control had dazed Predaking, preventing it from reacting immediately. It roared angrily at Magneto and spewed a retaliatory stream of flames at him.

"Immune to my control over metal... How did you do that?"

"Simple: high-temperature demagnetization and Allspark control." Tony lowered himself and gently patted Predaking's head. Just this simple, gentle gesture was enough to calm the agitated Predaking.

It was like an ant stroking a monster, yet somehow, the comforting gesture worked.

As the temperature continuously rises, the decrease in coercivity due to its temperature coefficient leads to irreversible magnetic decay. If the temperature is then increased even more rapidly, it causes a change in the direction of magnetization. The microstructure undergoes changes, and an increasing number of electrons begin to move chaotically, losing their orientation, thereby weakening the magnetic properties.

Of course, the most fundamental method of resistance was still the Allspark.

"This is my created being, Erik. I am familiar with every detail of him. You will never take him from me."

Tony stood on Predaking's head, bathed in moonlight, like a dragon rider from legends. His long, black, hooded robe fluttered continuously in the wind.

"Impressive." Magneto gave Tony a long look, hiding the surprise and astonishment in his emotions.

A Level Four mutant, and one who could, to some extent, be immune to his magnetic field control, was already quite remarkable.

Even if he were truly determined to fight Tony for control of Predaking, he might not necessarily lose. After all, Magneto was at the peak of Level Four, while Tony had used magic—a somewhat clever shortcut—to overcome the difficulties of mutant advancement, drastically shortening his advancement time.

But that would be pointless. He was Magneto. If he couldn't control one thing, he could control many others. Could Tony possibly have animated all matter? Impossible.

Several large buildings were uprooted. Large numbers of innocent people screamed, still trapped inside the buildings, only able to cry out helplessly. Tony could even clearly see a man, about to fall from a window, helplessly reaching his arm out toward him.

Unfortunately, Tony ignored him, watching indifferently as the man fell from the window, about to be turned into meat paste.

In the nick of time, a red figure swiftly swung over. Spider-Man, with his incredible agility, caught the poor man at the last second.

"Let me warn you, this is going a bit too far. You're likely to get beaten to death for this," Tony warned flatly.

"Beaten to death by whom? You? Tony, you really have a talent for telling jokes." Magneto, as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

He had run rampant for most of his life, and no one had ever been able to stop him, let alone utter such ridiculous words as "beating him to death."

Tony sighed. "You're really courting death, Erik. When the Righteous Heroes arrive and hold you down for a violent beating, don't blame me for not warning you."

The Magneto of the past, no matter how much he caused trouble, had limits. At most, he would pop up to make a speech, raid some sinister laboratory, or perhaps accidentally kill a president. That was about it.

But this time, not only was he recklessly demolishing buildings with impunity, he also planned to capture world leaders and tens of millions of New Yorkers in one fell swoop, turning them all into mutants.

There's no way some people would tolerate this.

Especially that person Tony had alerted, who should be on his way right now, determined to beat Magneto half to death.

Several skyscrapers charged brazenly toward Tony. The immense Magnetokinesis had turned these buildings into giant bullets, their ever-increasing acceleration giving them an exaggerated impact force.

This is why the mortal world feared Magneto. If pushed too far, he would drop an artificial meteorite on you from ten thousand meters up, wiping out an entire continent in minutes.

Tony slightly raised his hand, and a vast number of Transformers leaped up from the ground. Especially the large number of flying Transformers, they suddenly soared into the sky, forming a vast net that blotted out the sun as they charged head-on toward the buildings.

BOOM!

Intense noise erupted as the buildings were sliced into many pieces, roughly divided by floor. Many of the ordinary humans inside were already dead, but most managed to survive.

"Erik, you really are a madman." Tony casually glanced over, seeing many dead people. Blood stained the floors of the buildings, and the thick stench of blood assaulted his senses.

In just that short moment, at least a thousand people had died.

Tony wouldn't prioritize saving people; that was a job for the Righteous Heroes. The battles of Level Four beings were just this cruel; destroying cities and the deaths of large groups of people routinely involved.

Tony was just a slightly stronger individual. He wasn't a babysitter and had no obligation to be responsible for ordinary humans.

Magneto was the one doing the killing. What did it have to do with him?

"Excellent, Tony. You're one of us." Magneto smiled, very satisfied to see the indifferent gaze Tony cast upon the dead. This was what a good fellow mutant should be.

The lives of ordinary humans were worthless; the lives of mutants were precious. This was Magneto's ideology.

He really admired Tony now, feeling that Tony was very much to his liking.

Unfortunately, both of them were stubborn and full of pride. For their own respective reasons, they would never back down.

They could only let their strength do the talking.

They were both confident in their own plans and could never persuade the other to stop, let alone convince them to support them.

Magneto and Tony didn't care about human lives, but someone else did.

"Tony, save them."

A vast psychic power swiftly spread over. Sensing the grief of countless injured people, that psychic power also grew sorrowful.

"This is simple for you; hurry and save them. Isn't this your philosophy? Since you can save them so easily, why wouldn't you?" Professor X urged.

Professor X was leading the X-Men, searching for something in another location based on the information Tony had relayed.

"I'm already on it, Professor X," Tony replied. "Compared to this matter, I'm more concerned about your progress over there. Have you found Hell's Border yet?"
