Chapter 214: Space Magic
Countless mechanical soldiers were inherently far superior to armies made up of ordinary people. What was even more terrifying, however, was that the legion's numbers were still growing exponentially, striking fear into the hearts of countless people.
It was then that many suddenly remembered—this guy, Tony, was a high-level mutant...
"Contact Tony immediately! Tell him to stop!" Nick Fury ordered.
This was too terrifying. Even Magneto, a professional troublemaker for thirty years, had never pulled off something of this magnitude. At most, he'd killed a president or attacked a laboratory.
And Tony? In a matter of minutes, he had raised an iron army numbering in the millions. Fighting against this kind of iron legion was an absolute nightmare! Moreover, from the current situation, a mere million seemed to be nowhere near Tony's upper limit...
"A Level Four mutant... Dammit!" Someone stared at the screen, slamming their fist on the table as cold sweat beaded on their forehead.
News of Tony advancing to Level Four had already been quietly circulating for many days. Although it was top-secret information, S.H.I.E.L.D. had managed to figure it out through guesswork and deduction. Since Hydra was intertwined with S.H.I.E.L.D., they found out as well, and from there, even more organizations learned of it...
S.H.I.E.L.D. had even specifically modified the monitoring frequencies of relevant satellites to target Tony's Transformers, which resulted in the scene now playing out on their screens.
The frenetically increasing numbers made one's scalp crawl.
The signal connected quickly. Nick Fury held the communicator and yelled, "Tony, have you lost your mind? Do you need such a massive legion to kill the Hulk? Are you trying to declare war on the whole world?!"
Static crackled through the line, and the signal was slightly unclear, but a voice could still be faintly heard. On the other end, Tony spoke in a calm voice, "Believe me, Nick Fury, killing the Hulk really does require this legion."
There was one thing he didn't say: such a massive legion wasn't prepared for the Hulk. It was for certain other clueless individuals.
He was waiting patiently. Although he wasn't certain if someone would interfere as he suspected, he went ahead with it anyway.
Nick Fury was speechless. He stared at the scene on the screen, feeling helpless for a moment. What could he do when Tony said that? He had no forces on hand that could go to India and stop this guy. It was completely useless.
"You'd better think this through. After this is over, you'll be the most unwelcome person in the entire world," Nick Fury said in a low voice.
The corner of Tony's mouth twitched, finding it somewhat amusing. "As if I'm so popular right now."
In Nick Fury's eyes, the "entire world" was nothing more than the various governments.
Let's not even talk about the alien foes capable of destroying planets in minutes. In this universe, there were countless interstellar civilizations occupying innumerable galaxies, and in the future, a multiverse-level war was set to erupt. Would Tony really care about the opinion of some mortal nation on Earth?
"Nick Fury, I haven't harmed a single innocent civilian. I sent my soldiers to evacuate the nearby populace at the first opportunity. Trying to stop me with your pointless restrictions is useless. You'd better think of something else. Don't force me to become the next Magneto," Tony said, before cutting the connection.
A massive legion swarmed forward, engulfing the Hulk at the very center. As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but Transformers of various shapes and colors, like an ocean of steel covering every inch of the land. In every direction, a surging tide of iron flowed toward the central battlefield.
The Hulk's roars were drowned out by the innumerable sounds of metal, but from a distance, one could still see the green behemoth rampaging. Every punch sent a pile of Transformers flying.
A wave of psychic power crossed half the globe, suddenly rushing into Tony's mind. This external psychic power was strong, and it established contact with Tony instantly.
"Professor, you shouldn't interfere..." Tony frowned. With this kind of psychic power, he didn't even have to guess; it was Professor X.
"Stop. It's not too late. Stop before they do something desperate. Let's talk this over properly." Professor X's voice echoed directly in Tony's mind.
It was a strange sensation. There was no feedback like in a normal conversation; it acted directly on the brain. Tony's thoughts would also be instantly perceived by Professor X.
"Why didn't you stop the Hulk when he was rampaging through New York City? Many civilians were killed, and you could have easily subdued him."
"The Hulk was a target of the Military. I could not interfere."
"But now the Hulk is my target, Professor. If I forbid you from interfering, what will you choose? Will you continue to obstruct me just because I'm a mutant?" Tony pressed aggressively.
Professor X sounded weary. "Tony, if you don't stop, you'll end up like Erik, targeted by the government and the Military."
"They can't target me," Tony sneered. "I've done everything I was supposed to, even put my life on the line for them. But when it's time for my revenge, you come out to stop me? Professor, you know better than I do what their intentions are. Whether I stop or not, the result will be the same."
Stopping would be equivalent to Tony sending a signal that he would continue to serve the authorities, just as he had provided the Super Soldier Serum in the past. It would mean becoming a second Professor X.
Not stopping would mean openly tearing all pretenses apart.
But there was no doubt that now that Tony had revealed his terrifying abilities, the authorities would officially begin research on countermeasures against him, no matter what.
At this stage, a Level Four combat power was already enough to run rampant on the current Earth with few who could stop it, let alone a single country. Given Earth's current technology tree, countermeasures against an ability like Tony's were practically nonexistent.
A Level Four being could barely protect an ordinary planet in the universe. Level 5 and Level Six beings already had the ability to occupy numerous galaxies.
"Give it up, Professor. You can't stop me. No matter what, the Hulk must die!" Tony said. "You should have sensed it. You can use your psychic abilities to control my body, but you can't control my Allspark, and you certainly can't control this massive army."
Professor X's psychic power silently withdrew. He could clearly feel Tony's resolve.
Hiding within the million-strong legion, Tony watched coldly as the Hulk grew stronger with every fight. He slowly extended a hand, and the portal magic began to activate.
"A lowly beast like this is better off dead."
This wasn't about the future; Tony only cared about the present. Hunting the Hulk was something he had planned for a long time. He believed that in the future, after the Hulk developed full sentience, he might feel a trace of guilt for his past actions. But that was meaningless.
If apologies and guilt could solve problems, there wouldn't be so many tragedies in the world.
Amidst the chaos, a small portal suddenly appeared on the Hulk's body, aiming straight for his head!
He only needed to shrink the portal slightly to easily take the Hulk's head right off.
