Chapter 193

Chapter 191: Survival and Death

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

Was it a miracle?

Indeed it was. He had returned to the origin of the Multiverse, to the very first Prime Universe.

The entire Omni-Sphere World began from this very spot, expanding madly across space-time bit by bit until it became the infinite existence it is today.

Tony was silent for a moment, then asked, "So, what are you planning to do with me?"

This was a crucial question. He came from the Multiverse, not native to Earth. Considering the Sorcerer Supreme's magnanimity, she probably wouldn't do anything to him; otherwise, Superman would have been the first to be eliminated.

Among all the overpowered individuals on Earth, who knew how many were born due to the intervention of various external forces? And the Sorcerer Supreme had never done anything about them.

"I have observed you for a long time. As long as you do not endanger Earth, you are safe." The Sorcerer Supreme gently waved her arm, and the entire scene dissipated. They returned to the small, antique-style room filled with Eastern charm.

When everything returned to normal, the two of them were suddenly seated in chairs.

Between them was a small table, upon which sat two cups of steaming hot tea.

"Next time you use Spatial Magic, could you give me a heads-up? Being whisked around like this is very strange." Tony shrugged, suppressing the discomfort in his heart. He picked up his teacup and took a sip. "Good tea."

If any outsiders saw Tony daring to jest with the Sorcerer Supreme like this, they would probably rush over and strangle him.

"So, Tony, what is your purpose for coming to Kamar-Taj?" the Sorcerer Supreme said.

"Many things," Tony mused. "First, I wanted to express my gratitude and ask about the origins of the powerhouse who tried to kill me that time. Second, I want to learn the method for creating a soul. Third, I'd also like to learn Spatial Magic, if possible."

This was a bit of a big ask, but Tony couldn't be bothered to hide his intentions; hiding them would be meaningless.

The third request was a last-minute addition by Tony. He wanted to learn Spatial Magic to unlock the "Ground Bridge" on his technology tree.

Ground Bridge Technology allows for teleportation anywhere on a planet's surface, equivalent to a portal. The upgraded version of the Ground Bridge, the "Space Bridge," can directly traverse countless galaxies for large-scale Legion transport.

In the future, Tony even wanted to develop a Universe Bridge for inter-universal teleportation.

The Omni-Sphere World would descend into chaos before long—it was only a matter of time. Inter-universe warfare would become commonplace in the near future, so research into spatial technology had to be prioritized.

By drawing parallels, starting with existing magic to research technology-based teleportation would undoubtedly save a great deal of time.

"Regarding the matter of the resurrection spring, you don't need to know too much. Your current perspective isn't qualified to touch upon matters of that level; otherwise, it will only bring you greater danger."

The Sorcerer Supreme was unhurried, still maintaining a gentle expression devoid of any fluctuation and a tone that could soothe one's heart.

She had the confidence to say this. As long as she lived, few would dare to come directly to Earth and stir up trouble.

Tony raised his head and gave her a deep look. If he remembered correctly, the Sorcerer Supreme at this point in time had long since lost the will to live. Or rather, she had grown weary.

An ordinary human's lifespan could never be this long; not even a sorcerer's. The Sorcerer Supreme was, in fact, constantly siphoning power from Dormammu to extend her life.

This was also the direct reason for Kaecilius's betrayal of his master. Kaecilius couldn't accept this truth, and coupled with his desire for immortality, he defected directly to Dormammu.

It was the most fatal stab to the Sorcerer Supreme's already scarred heart.

"You have a desire for power that surpasses that of an ordinary person. You madly chase after any power that can become uniquely yours. Perhaps you haven't even realized this yourself."

The Sorcerer Supreme was still dressed in her spotless white robes. She picked up the teapot and filled her own cup. Tony drained his in one gulp, then took the teapot from her and refilled his cup.

The small teapot seemed to maintain the same weight no matter how much was poured, as if the tea inside was infinite.

"This world is vast. Even a single Omni-Sphere World is enough for billions of life forms to spend their entire lives exploring. Tony, you are like a drop of water in this teapot, unable to escape its confines no matter how you struggle. Have you ever thought about where your end point is?"

"End point? Death, I suppose. One day I will fall, and then I will die," Tony answered.

He had feared the arrival of death more than once. The flames of war that would spread to countless worlds were on the verge of erupting, and he was still far, far from ready. He was only just beginning.

What if the war broke out before he had grown strong enough?

"Death is not the end. When your power and perspective reach a certain level, you will understand how fragile life is, and yet how grand. Some great beings can restart a universe at any time, restoring everything that was destroyed. Your survival and death are merely a matter of a single thought for people like that," the Sorcerer Supreme said.

"Perhaps for them, there is no boundary between life and death. But for me, that blurry line is my everything. As long as I'm alive, anything is possible. If I die, it's all over. I will lose everything."

The Sorcerer Supreme glanced at Tony with some surprise and praised, "Not bad. Too few people have such an awareness."

She stood up, looking through the window at the novice sorcerers training outside. "I have asked many people this question, but none of them knew how to respond."

Tony sat calmly in his chair, unmoved. He was fragile. In fact, any being born in the Multiverse was extremely fragile. In the eyes of many unique powerhouses, they could be killed or resurrected at will—it was merely a matter of restarting the universe or modifying timelines.

Those Level Eight super-beings could destroy a universe with a backhand, and create another just as easily.

Even those who weren't Level Eight beings, like the Speedsters represented by The Flash, were theoretically immortal.

If you kill their present selves, their past and future selves will notice. They'll drive the Speed Force to run wildly, travel through space-time to restart the timeline, and if truly desperate, they'll escape to other universes to evade the Temporal Correction Force.

The Flash's arch-nemesis, the Reverse-Flash, is even known as "the man time itself cannot catch," resurrecting time and time again.

"Sorcerer Supreme, just tell me directly what you want to say... You once sent Kaecilius to find me, but the timing was too much of a coincidence. He received your order right before defecting to Dormammu's side..." Tony stood up and said bluntly, "I can't guess what you're thinking, but I'm sure you can guess what I'm thinking."
