Chapter 176

The ground began to crack. The already crumbling and overburdened asphalt road completely disintegrated, as if a giant beast was erupting wildly from beneath the earth, overturning the solid ground. It kicked up countless clouds of dust and rubble of all sizes, which shot out in every direction, striking the few remaining intact glass windows and shattering them with an ear-piercing sound.

A large-scale power outage swept across New York City. A shudder-inducing surge of electricity gushed from the ground, and a colossal wave of blue current blotted out the sky. The dazzling blue light flickered with brilliant radiance, illuminating the already bright sky once more, filling the world with countless electrical currents.

Roar!

An inhuman roar escaped Max's lips. Barely maintaining his humanoid form, Max bellowed as he charged up from underground, bringing with him arcs of electricity radiating a chilling killing intent, and stormed toward Kaecilius.

The electrical current was incredibly fast, appearing directly from beneath Kaecilius's feet and soaring skyward. A virtually endless stream of electricity was forcefully absorbed by Max from every corner of New York City and then unleashed upon Kaecilius.

For the first time, the terrifying power of Electro was revealed to all without restraint.

In the towering skyscrapers lining both sides of the wide street, all the windows shattered and the electrical wires burned out. A large number of people who hadn't managed to escape screamed in terror. Max, with his hands already slightly raised, generated an electromagnetic field that lifted these people up, gently tossing them to a safe distance.

Kaecilius was in an extremely disheveled state. The astonishing burst of electricity had scorched his eyebrows and hair, blackened his skin, and destroyed most of the classical robe he was wearing. The Mages of Kamar-Taj were proficient in close combat and never neglected their own defense; the robe he wore was a remarkable high-level magical item.

He hastily used magic, opening a sparking circle beneath his feet, while countless indescribable things materialized around him.

"What a pity. If only I could have electrocuted that guy to death in one go," Tony thought with a hint of regret, while alarm bells screamed in his mind.

His opponent was the favored disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme, a master whose might awed countless Other Dimensions. He certainly had a few tricks up his sleeve if such a devastating attack couldn't kill him.

Moreover, Tony keenly sensed that something was wrong. A portion of the electrical currents that had struck Kaecilius had mysteriously vanished.

Max, his body a manifestation of electrokinesis, spoke hurriedly from beside Tony, "Sir, my electrical currents are disappearing for some reason…"

"Retreat! Retreat immediately!"

Tony's expression turned cold and hard. A sense of crisis suddenly emerged, magnifying as Kaecilius's gaze lingered on him. He made the decisive call to fall back.

Countless Transformers swarmed forward like madmen, using their bodies to block Kaecilius's line of sight and path, and charging ahead fearlessly.

On the ground, the corpses of the Transformers that had been diced apart by Kaecilius's space magic suddenly exploded under Tony's control, inflicting a few more wounds on the arrogant Kaecilius.

"You have angered me, Mortal!"

Kaecilius coughed a few times, looking at the swarm of metal constructs descending upon him, tasting the flavor of blood—something he hadn't experienced in a very, very long time.

This time, it was his own blood.

He had killed many strange and bizarre creatures from Other Dimensions, but he had never been injured by these people of the mortal world, whom he had always looked down upon.

It had never been like this. Kaecilius was a prodigy. He was the First Disciple under the Sorcerer Supreme, and many believed he would inherit the title of the next Sorcerer Supreme. To Dormammu, he was a highly valued subordinate whom Dormammu constantly showered with benefits.

And yet, such a proud man had suffered a setback and even been made to bleed at Tony's hands.

As an Archmage of the second echelon on Earth, second only to the Sorcerer Supreme, Kaecilius had his own self-respect and pride.

A massive surge of mystic energy gushed from Kaecilius's body. Under this terrifying mystic energy, tiny grains of sand and stone began to tremble, then slowly started to float.

This energy from the mystical side emanated from a human body, vibrating with a strange frequency. It connected to the Mortal Realm where Tony was, yet it also seemed to drift away toward the Endless Starry Sky. This mysterious energy, under Kaecilius's spell, could leap from the Three-Dimensional Realm to another level entirely.

The ability of this mystic energy to connect different dimensions was truly astounding.

This mystic energy was different from the magic of the golden portal; it directly linked dimensions.

Whether it was an illusion or not, the ground seemed to tilt by a degree or two in an instant. It was a minute change, completely silent. There was no earthquake, no buildings inexplicably collapsed; everything seemed incredibly still and calm.

But amid Kaecilius's cold laughter and this subtle change, a chill ran up Tony's spine. His senses were incredibly sharp; his all-encompassing evolution had gifted him with astonishing intuition.

A peculiar change had occurred silently, yet it also seemed as if nothing had happened at all.

Tony clearly saw Max appear a short distance ahead, looking around in confusion, seemingly puzzled, yet completely oblivious to both Kaecilius and Tony.

Some Transformers were still carrying citizens to safety, but Tony's control over them was suddenly blocked by something, becoming extremely faint as if a vast distance now separated them.

Those Transformers, once so close, now collapsed powerlessly, an unreachable distance away.

Only about thirty Transformers remained by Tony's side.

Tony's face was ice-cold as he coldly watched Kaecilius, who stood not far from him.

"The Mirror Dimension. If you hadn't used this, you might have lived a little longer. The Sorcerer Supreme and the New York Sanctum aren't fools. They will definitely notice that the Mirror Dimension has been opened. And among the few who can open it, only you have escaped their surveillance."

Tony was on high alert, cautiously observing his surroundings. The passing vehicles and the confusion of Max and the others were all projections of the real world.

The Mirror Dimension, as its name suggested, was a peculiar dimension that could perfectly replicate the scenery of the real world. Whether it was the wreckage on the ground or the surrounding skyscrapers, everything was flawlessly presented within this space.

It just couldn't replicate living beings; otherwise, it would be far too overpowered.

This super space magic created by the Sorcerer Supreme directly formed a temporary dimension, born attached to the real three-dimensional world. Even at Kamar-Taj, only the top-tier mages could use it.

What Tony had to do now was stall for time. Otherwise, he would be crushed to bits by this damned space. The countless skyscrapers, steel bridges, and other structures could come rolling at him, pushing him into a corner with no way out.

His Transformer Legion would be easily crushed.
