Chapter 172

Chapter 170

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

"Dormammu? The one who invited me wasn't the Sorcerer Supreme, but Dormammu, the master of the Dark Dimension?"

Tony was completely bewildered.

If the Sorcerer Supreme had sent someone to find him, or even come himself, whether to settle a score or for some other reason, Tony would have completely accepted it.

Previously, while researching the fountain of resurrection, Tony had angered a major figure in Hell. In all likelihood, it was the Sorcerer Supreme who had saved him then.

Of course, accepting a lesson was one thing. If the Sorcerer Supreme just wanted to beat him up severely, even to within an inch of his life, Tony would have willingly endured it. The debt for saving his life was simply too great. Besides, the man had no obligation to save Tony back then; it was an enormous favor.

As the Guardian of Earth, if the Sorcerer Supreme wanted to thrash Tony for recklessly stirring up trouble, it would be perfectly reasonable from every perspective. Tony would truly have to accept it.

But if the Sorcerer Supreme wanted to kill him, he wouldn't just wait to die. Even if he was just a nobody who could be crushed by one of the Sorcerer Supreme's fingers, he would fight desperately to take a bite out of his opponent before dying.

Make no mistake, for a Level Seven, single-universe level Sorcerer Supreme, killing Tony really would only take a single finger. Even if Level Four powerhouses like Magneto or Professor X were here, it would be the same—an instant kill.

At this moment, Kaecilius resembled a zealot, his entire face contorted with fanatical worship. The faint blackness in his eye sockets began to spread like a living thing. The distorted Dark Matter gradually expanded, carrying an ominous aura as it began to corrode Kaecilius's face.

It was like a terrifying parasite, draining the Host's life force while feeding a little energy back to them. To put it bluntly, Kaecilius had been thoroughly screwed over by that treacherous old schemer, Dormammu.

By draining his life force and feeding Kaecilius a bit of explosive power in return, it created the illusion that Kaecilius was becoming stronger.

As long as Dormammu didn't want Kaecilius dead, he wouldn't die. Dormammu needed Kaecilius to destroy the three Sanctums on Earth, clearing the way for the great Dormammu to invade Earth.

"You've also heard of the omnipotent Dark Lord?" Kaecilius asked, pleasantly surprised. On his unnaturally twitching face, the black matter slowly spread, its unsettling aura gradually taking over his mind.

"Dark Lord?"

Tony's mouth twitched, a rare look of exasperation appearing on his face.

"A Level Seven nobody like Dormammu dares to call himself the Dark Lord? What does that make the transcendent Overlord of Apokolips—Darkseid? Apokolips itself exists beyond the Multiverse; even the boundless Speed Force Wall has no claim over it. And Dormammu? Across the infinite Multiverse, who the hell knows how many Doppelgangers of him exist! They're countless!"

Tony wasn't just spouting nonsense. The more one understood about Darkseid, the more one could feel that suffocating pressure that seemed to penetrate even the Speed Force Wall.

Darkseid, transcendent beyond the Multiverse, a peak Level Eight being who could clash head-on with the Speed Force Wall, was the "one and only" across all worlds. Unlike Dormammu or Thanos, who have a version of themselves in every multiverse.

Darkseid, on the other hand, had long since become the irreplicable "one and only" across the past, present, and future of the countless universes and dimensions! To describe Darkseid in a single sentence: his power is ten times that of Thanos, regardless of whether Thanos is wearing the Infinity Gauntlet studded with all six Infinity Stones!

The most awkward part is that Darkseid is also known as the "Dark Lord"...

By comparison, Dormammu seemed far too arrogant. Occupying a High-Level Dark Dimension was indeed impressive—something many Level Seven powerhouses couldn't achieve—but to call himself the "Dark Lord"...

"Bastard, what did you say? You foolish Mortal, how dare you insult a Deity?" Kaecilius's eyes widened, a flash of fury in them.

"I bet you've cursed the Sorcerer Supreme behind his back plenty of times yourself. What right do you have to talk to me? Otherwise, why would you betray Kamar-Taj and defect to the Sorcerer Supreme's mortal enemy, Dormammu?"

Tony sneered and beckoned with his hand. Hundreds of Transformers instantly took form and came roaring over. Tony's expression was cold and severe, his face filled with indifference and a chilling killing intent. The skin on his resolute face twitched slightly as he pushed every part of his being to its absolute limit.

Don't be fooled into thinking Tony could only rely on his Transformers to fight. In truth, his own evolution had never slowed down. A Power Index surpassing three tons, combined with his even more terrifying insight, neural reflexes, and the Allspark serving as his core computer, granted Tony formidable strength.

If a piece of trash like Kaecilius were to take a direct punch from Tony, he would die on the spot.

Tony stared at Kaecilius, and within his gradually intensifying eyes, there was a faint hint of... anticipation?

He'd heard that the Sorcerers from Kamar-Taj were special. They might be Sorcerers by profession, but they had the hearts of Berserkers...

According to rumors, if you engaged a Sorcerer from Kamar-Taj in a duel of Magic, they would consider it a humiliation. A fist-to-flesh fighting style was more this group of Sorcerers' forte...

Kaecilius was enraged. As the First Disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme and Dormammu's "most trusted" subordinate, he was being looked down upon by a mere Mortal who didn't understand the true principles of the world?

The darkness suffusing his eye sockets was the clearest sign of the Dark Dimension's power, a manifestation of that special energy. On Earth, there were quite a few Sorcerers who could wield Dark Power. Although they were constantly hunted, some still couldn't resist its allure.

This was a Power different from that of Hell; it came from the Dark Dimension.

Tony's gaze was cold, and killing intent permeated the air.

"You have no idea of Dormammu's greatness! A human life is but a fleeting century. Only the great Dormammu can grant us Immortality! You have no idea how cruel time is! You understand nothing..."

Kaecilius also revealed his killing intent, but his tone gradually calmed as his reason returned.

The two locked eyes, each seeing the coldness in the other's gaze.

"I don't understand anything about time. I only know that Dormammu is no good either, full of lies and deceit, even worse than the Demons of Hell."

Tony's face was cold as stone.

Emotionally, he had to protect Earth as much as possible. It was his home, and he still owed the Sorcerer Supreme a huge debt. Dormammu wanted to make a preemptive strike to take over Earth, and Tony did not want to see that happen.

Logically, Earth was Tony's only foothold at present. If Earth was destroyed, he definitely wouldn't survive.

Earth held many secrets. The origins of the Infinity War were tied to many things that he would one day be able to use.

To put it more bluntly, siding with the Sorcerer Supreme was far better than listening to Dormammu. Dormammu was countless dimensions away, but the Sorcerer Supreme was right here on Earth, right by Tony's side.
