Chapter 907 Finding the Tower of Fate
"So, where should we start looking?"
Wally was sitting obediently in the chair because of the seatbelt. It was probably only at times like this that he could be a little bit well-behaved.
"Speaking of which, where did Doctor Kent disappear?"
"It was in a Divination House of a Gypsy Woman," Zatanna answered the crowd's questions as someone in the know.
"Mr. Kent loved his other half very much, but unfortunately, his beloved Ms. Inza passed away before him. People in the Magic World all know that Mr. Kent has been living in pain every moment since losing his other half."
"Mr. Kent wanted to seek help from the Power of Magic. He didn't ask for much, even if it was just a brief exchange with Ms. Inza's soul. So, he began searching for famous spiritualists or wizards in the world."
"I don't get it," Wally couldn't help but interject. "Didn't you guys say when you introduced Mr. Kent before that he is one of the most powerful magicians in modern times? Can't he do this himself?"
Wally, who still didn't believe in magic, subconsciously wanted to find flaws in the magicians, and he found one right away.
"That's because Mr. Kent serves Nabu," Zatanna didn't know Wally's little thoughts, but she was happy to clear up the confusion for the group of magic novices in front of her.
"Nabu is the Lord of Order. Unlike the Olympian Gods who are full of humanity, Nabu represents strict, unfeeling Order. Things like communicating with the dead, which break the Balance of Life and Death, are absolutely something They would never do."
'Hmm,' Habby muttered in his heart. 'Nabu, who has a flexible bottom line, really likes to be strict with others.'
"Therefore, Mr. Kent had to seek help from others, but for most orthodox magicians, summoning a soul that has been dead for so long is not an easy thing to do."
"Then the Gypsy Witch Mr. Kent sought help from..."
"Of course, she's fake. I already went to that woman's shop to check. She's just a charlatan, using some illusion to swindle money."
Zatanna was obviously disdainful of this kind of swindler. When mentioning the so-called Gypsy Witch, her eyes were full of disdain.
"Unlike Gypsy in the Justice League, that one is a real witch."
Speaking of this, Zatanna sighed, and then continued, "Actually, Gypsy had already reminded Mr. Kent that there are only a few real witches in America now, and that woman is definitely a swindler if she's not on the list."
"But concern makes one messy. Mr. Kent still approached the fake witch with a try-and-see mentality, and that's how this business happened."
'Sounds just like the real thing,' Wally muttered in his heart. In his opinion, all magic is just illusion, just a difference between high-level and low-level. The so-called fake witch was obviously the low-level kind.
Of course, Wally would not say this verbally. Verbally, he still asked respectfully.
"So, are we going to investigate that divination shop?"
"I remember I should have said that I already went to that divination shop to check, right?"
Zatanna looked helpless and sighed again. She sometimes really suspected that this person in front of her was deliberately playing dumb.
"We're going directly to the Tower of Fate. That's Doctor Fate's base and also Doctor Kent's residence. There might be some clues there."
Robin was about to change direction when he heard this, but suddenly thought of something and asked.
"Do you have the key? According to the Justice League Database, you can't see the Tower of Fate without the key."
"You are really knowledgeable," Zatanna praised. "That's right, without the key, even those Gods can't find the Tower of Fate."
As Zatanna spoke, she took out a key from her jacket pocket.
The leaf protrusions on this key were unusually numerous, and each protrusion was twisted and winding like a maze. There were also completely incomprehensible words and symbols engraved on the key.
Rather than calling it a key, it was more like an ancient artwork. Those twisted and winding leaves could never be inserted into a lock cylinder.
But how to open the lock was not the topic Wally was most concerned about.
"How did you put such a big thing in your jacket pocket?"
It's no wonder Wally was surprised. The Tower of Fate Key was a section longer than Zatanna's palm. No matter how you think about it, it's impossible to stuff it into the jacket pocket of Zatanna's formal dress.
"Magic, it's amazing, right?"
Zatanna smiled mysteriously, and when she spread out her palm, the huge key actually disappeared right in front of Wally's eyes.
"This is impossible," Wally was taken aback. You know, he had activated the Speed Force and was staring at Zatanna's hand. With the Speed Force, he saw every step of the key disappearing, but the key did disappear out of thin air.
Zatanna didn't hide the key in her sleeve or pocket. It just disappeared out of thin air.
"Are you a superpowered being?"
This was said by Wally, a staunch materialist.
'You don't think superpower is science, do you?'
This was what Habby from the real universe thought.
Facing Wally's behavior of refusing to believe in magic no matter what, Zatanna was so amused that she laughed. Words spoken to deaf ears are wasted. Now she was not even in the mood to tease Wally anymore.
However, Zatanna also secretly made up her mind that she must let this silly boy see what true magic is and properly slap him in the face.
While the two were chatting, Robin had already driven the flying vehicle to the destination. It was an open area hidden in the woods. It was said that this entire land was Mr. Kent's land, which was why there was such a large and abrupt undeveloped place in the city.
Robin, who knew some Tower of Fate information, honestly parked the flying vehicle at the edge of the open area. He didn't want his flying vehicle to be crushed when the Tower appeared later.
"Where's the Tower?"
Wally, who jumped out of the airplane, couldn't help but ask, "What are we doing in the open area? Playing baseball?"
"There are many mysterious magic items that ordinary people cannot see."
Troia, who had been silent all along, spoke at this time. She continued, "Some are because the owner of items wants to avoid being disturbed by ordinary people, and some are to prevent ordinary people from falling into danger."
"The Tower of Fate is the latter," Zatanna took out the key and walked at the front of the team. "This ancient magic building represents order. It's not just a building, but also a powerful magic item. Ordinary people will be in danger just by looking at it."
After walking a distance, Zatanna suddenly stopped. Just as Wally was curious and wanted to ask, Zatanna suddenly reached out and thrust the key out.
"Click!"
