Chapter 904 Two Missions

Roy spent a few minutes explaining the ins and outs of the matter.

It turned out that Roy, relying on his Intelligence System, had received news that Dr. Roquette, an internationally renowned doctor, had recently developed a new type of nanobots.

These nanobots are the natural enemy of all modern technology. They can hack into all known computers and machines in the world. Just from the introduction, it's clear that once this thing is invented, it will definitely cause a bloody storm in the world.

So, this thing was not actually developed by Dr. Roquette voluntarily. He was imprisoned on an island by the League of Assassins' assassins and forced to develop this thing.

"So, you want us to go with you to rescue Dr. Roquette?"

Facing Dick's question, Roy just shook his head.

"This kind of business is urgent, so as soon as I received the news, I set off for the target location and rescued Dr. Roquette. Because Dr. Roquette didn't have authorization from Justice Mountain, I arranged for him to be in my own safe house."

Roy spoke lightly, but everyone present knew that this was not a simple thing, especially Dick, who knew the difficulty of this matter even more clearly.

That's the League of Assassins, not some random third-rate organization. Even Batman has to be fully focused when facing these guys.

Dick was just about to praise Roy when he heard a sound coming from the passage.

"Your safe house? How come I don't know you have a safe house?"

Everyone turned their heads and saw Green Arrow walking in from the depths of the passage with a questioning expression. Behind him were Batman, Red Tornado, Black Canary, Mr. Zatara, and an unfamiliar girl.

"You don't need to know my business so clearly." Roy's smile disappeared from his face. "Anyway, I'm not your apprentice anymore. I'm independent now."

"Okay..." Green Arrow was choked for words, and finally could only say helplessly, "You rescued the hostage from the League of Assassins single-handedly. That's dangerous and impressive."

"Thank you for the praise." Roy still kept a cold face, making it impossible to see his thoughts.

'He's actually very happy inside.'

Green Arrow looked up in surprise at Habby, who was sitting silently beside him. The latter just nodded quietly to him, confirming that these words were spoken by him.

'Don't worry, I didn't pry into Roy's inner heart. I just felt the joy that was about to overflow.'

'Thank you.'

Green Arrow silently noted this thing in his heart. If it weren't for Habby's encouragement, he didn't know how long he would have been disappointed.

"Continue, Red Arrow."

Others were unaware of this mind communication. So, to ease the awkwardness, or perhaps just to conclude the mission, Batman always stood up in a timely manner.

"We need to know more information."

Red Arrow cleared his throat and continued, "After I rescued Dr. Roquette, she revealed to me that the research and development of nanobots has reached the final stage. At this stage, even without her, the research and development can be completed just by relying on the information in the computer."

"However, she also knows that once this thing is developed, it will definitely cause a bloody storm in the world, not to mention that it has now fallen into the hands of the League of Assassins."

"So, Dr. Roquette left a back door when developing the nanobots. She designed a virus. As long as the virus is developed, all these robots can be disabled."

"However, the League of Assassins probably also knows about this, but they don't have a second scientist as smart as Dr. Roquette. Therefore, they will definitely come to assassinate Dr. Roquette to make these robots without flaw."

"If you can't solve the problem, solve the person who creates the problem." Dick touched his chin. "Typical League of Assassins method. So, you want us to help you protect Dr. Roquette?"

"That's right." Roy nodded. "Dr. Roquette said that the League of Assassins implanted a tracker inside her body. This tracker can only be removed by surgery. Fortunately, it only sends a signal every six hours, which gave me a chance to breathe."

"It's been four hours since the last signal was sent. It won't be long before my safe house is discovered by them. I understand that I can't protect Dr. Roquette alone, so I came to you for help."

Batman nodded silently. It must be said that Roy's handling of this matter was already excellent. He did the best he could in that situation. Even he might not have done better than Roy.

"The current situation is that if Dr. Roquette undergoes surgery to remove the tracker, then there won't be enough time to develop the virus before the League of Assassins uses the nanobots. So, Dr. Roquette can only develop the virus while carrying the tracker."

This is like guarding a spawn cage in a game that constantly respawns monsters. Although it's a bit passive, it is indeed the best method currently.

"Leave this business to us." Dick volunteered. "My partners and I feel that we have recovered almost completely. This mission is just right to serve as rehabilitation."

"I have no opinion." Batman said expressionlessly. "However, I also came here this time to arrange a mission for you."

"But now it seems that this mission can only be solved by the Justice League themselves."

The children of the Young Justice League looked at each other. Wally, with quick eyes and hands, hurriedly said.

"Wait a moment, give us a few minutes."

Batman and the other adults exchanged glances and agreed to the children's request. Then the children gathered together in a circle and began to discuss in low voices.

After about five minutes, Dick, as the captain, stood up again. He raised his head and stared at the tall Batman and said.

"We want to hear the information about the other mission. We think that if the difficulty is not high, the number of people in the Young Justice League is enough to split into two groups to complete two missions."

"This..." Green Arrow hesitated a bit, but Batman, who was beside him, opened his mouth.

"Kent Nelson, one of the initial founders of the Justice Society, the predecessor of the Justice League, the first generation Doctor Fate, has recently been found missing. The Justice League wants to entrust the Young Justice League to investigate this case."

This mission seems unremarkable at first glance. After all, Mr. Kent is already nearly one hundred and six years old. It is not uncommon for an old man of this age to get lost.

However, Mr. Kent is, after all, the first generation Doctor Fate. His existence has long been connected to the God of Order. There are many Black Magicians or even more evil Chaos Magic users who are very likely to use Mr. Kent to do something based on the particularity of Magic.

It is indeed necessary to guard against this.

"Is there any other information?" Dick asked further.

"Traces of Chaos Magic were found at the scene."

This time, the one who answered Dick was not Batman, but a pleasant female voice.
