Chapter 500 Robert's Multiple Personalities

“Based on the fact that his cancer has not been cured, I speculate that Robert is likely suffering from immense mental stress due to participating in human experiments at great risk and not getting the desired results, coupled with the torment of disease, thus inducing an alternate personality.”

“Are you saying you speculate that Robert suffers from multiple personalities?” General Ross slowly rubbed his temple. He was, after all, an old man over half a century old, and receiving so much information at once was still a bit of a headache for him.

“Yes.” Bruce nodded. “Because I didn't dare to stimulate Robert for reasons, so since he was injected with Super Serum, I have no longer conducted experiments on him, but simply recorded his various states. This is the judgment I made after observation.”

“No longer conducting experiments.” General Ross frowned. “In other words, you don't know Robert's physical condition after injecting the serum, is that right?”

Bruce shook his head. “No, regular blood draws and physical examinations are still conducted, otherwise I wouldn't know that the serum is useless to Robert and his cancer.”

“But as it stands now, the serum should have worked.” General Ross raised his hand, and Glenn immediately handed him a tablet from his backpack.

General Ross took the tablet, maneuvered it for a while, and then handed it to Bruce. Bruce took it and found it was a video. Without Ross opening his mouth, he proactively clicked on the video and watched it.

This video was playing the giant rampage that General Ross and the others had mentioned before. Bruce widened his eyes, and his mouth was still muttering non-stop.

“This is impossible… This is not science… How could such a change occur?”

“But it did happen.” General Ross took out a cigarette from his pocket and was about to take one out, but a hand snatched the cigarette away. Ross felt helpless. He didn't need to look to know who had taken his cigarette. In this world, there was only one person who dared to do this.

“Betty.” General Ross sighed helplessly.

“This is a hospital room, Papa.” Betty raised her head and crumpled the cigarette in her hand into a ball, then threw it into the trash can next to her.

Facing his beloved daughter, General Ross could only tolerate it. When he once again shifted his line of sight back to Bruce, the latter had already finished reading all the information.

“This is indeed beyond my expectations, General Ross.” Bruce lowered his head. The tablet now displayed a picture, which was exactly the visuals of Robert being pierced through the chest and transforming into a giant again, taken by the Thunderbolts.

“It seems Super Serum is completely beyond my expectations.” Bruce zoomed in on the picture. Robert in the visuals was in a half-human, half-giant state. His body looked like a rubber toy injected with water, deformed and morbid.

“It seems to have some kind of wisdom.” Bruce said uncertainly. This was the first time he had spoken in such a tone.

“Wisdom? Are you talking about the serum?” Ross widened his eyes. If the person who said this was not Bruce Banner, he might have punched him already to stop the liar from talking nonsense.

“That's right.” Bruce's eyes were locked on Robert, as if trying to see something.

“Since the serum turned him into what he is now, then the dream figure Robert mentioned before might not be his alternate personality. Perhaps as early as the first moment he was injected with the serum, the serum had already taken effect. It was just hiding itself, but why?”

“This is too absurd.” Glenn interjected. “How could a serum have its own consciousness? We are not in a fairy tale.”

“Really, Glenn?” General Ross held a different view on Bruce's speculation. “There is magic in this world, and aliens are not nonexistent either.”

Glenn was speechless, not only because of General Ross's identity, but also because everything Ross said was true.

“I need those giants.” Bruce looked at General Ross. “I want to figure out what exactly is the reason for all this.”

“No!” Before Ross could opening his mouth, Betty on the side first denied Bruce's suggestion.

“Your injuries are not healed yet, you can't even get out of bed now!”

“Then please ask the General to find someone to carry me over.” Bruce's attitude was very firm. “I can't lie in hospital bed and do nothing.”

“Well said.” General Ross made a gesture to Glenn behind him. The latter immediately understood and walked out of the tent.

“I didn't misjudge you. Boy, if you choose to sleep soundly in bed like a weakling, I definitely wouldn't entrust Betty to you.”

“What is all this about?” Betty was amused and angered by the two men in front of her. She simply turned her head and ignored the two men in front of her.

But it must be said that Bruce's appearance just now was indeed very handsome.

The army's efficiency was very rapid, especially since this was an order personally issued by General Ross. Soon, a team of strong soldiers arrived, and under the command of the doctor, they carried Bruce onto a transport aircraft. Their destination was the giant storage area.

After about a day of attrition warfare, with the efforts of many superheroes and the military and police, some giants were initially defeated. But just like Yang Le's judgment, these giants may be growing constantly over time, or perhaps with the number of battles, in short, they were indeed constantly growing.

Some giants who were initially defeated would wake up after a period of silence and become stronger than before, reaching a point where ordinary humans could not compete with them at all.

Later on, even ordinary superhumans could not confrontation with them. Now, the superheroes still fighting on the front lines are only a few from the Squadron Supreme led by Hyperion and the Heroes for Hire company opened by Luke Cage. The rest are battlesuits operated by artificial intelligence from Howard Stark.

As for Howard himself, he is now discussing with Ross's team how to target the giants' self-healing ability and their constantly evolutionary ability.

And this was the place Bruce came to. When he saw Howard, the latter's eyes were already bloodshot, and the expressions of other scientists were not very good either.

“Glad to see you, Bruce.” Howard greeted Bruce, who was being helped in. At first, he wanted to shake hands, but seeing the other party's appearance, he could only give up.

“Are your injuries really okay?”

“Don't worry, Mr. Stark.” Bruce took the cane from the soldier's hand next to him. “I know my body best. Even if I am to fall, it will be after finding a solution.”

“Now we should first focus our attention on the serious matter at hand.”

Bruce leaned on his cane and walked step by step towards a huge platform. On it was placed a huge flesh wrapped in bright yellow colloid, which was one of the giants sealed by Yang Le.
