Chapter 415 Stagnation
Although Troy had quite a few bruises, her Demigod physique's Recovery Ability meant that these injuries, none of which exceeded her Body Threshold, hadn't actually affected her fundamentally and wouldn't hinder her Actions.
This time, Troy wasn't going to sit idly by and wait for her Death. Wanting to seize the Initiative, she drew her Sword and charged at Diana. In the blink of an eye, she was already in front of Diana, her Hand movements decisive and clean as she swung her Sword without hesitation.
Diana saw through Troy's intention, and with a backhand motion, she blocked Troy's strike with her Sword. Adding a touch of finesse, she knocked Troy's Sword aside. The Sword spun a Lap in her Hand, returning to a forward grip, and she slashed down from above.
Troy retreated a few steps to evade the slash, then pressed forward again, seizing the opening while Diana was still recovering from her attack to launch her own Attack. But Diana's Speed was simply too fast. Hermes's Blessing hadn't just enhanced her movement Speed; her reaction and thinking Speeds were also greatly amplified.
Facing Diana, who seemed flawless in every Direction, Troy felt powerless for the first time. Even when she spotted a Weakness and tried to Attack, Diana would intercept her Attack a split-second before she could strike.
This wasn't just about being one step ahead anymore; this was a pure Physical Fitness beatdown.
Unable to break through, Troy inevitably grew impatient, and her attacks became even more ferocious. In just a few Seconds, the two exchanged dozens of Sword strikes. The clang of metal on metal was incessant, like being inside a blacksmith's workshop.
The frequent clashes made the blades of their Swords incredibly hot, but Diana's Sword had been forged by Yang Le from the Chains that had bound a Demigod. It was the culmination of his current Technology, and clearly wouldn't be damaged by a fight of this caliber.
And while the origin of the Weapon in Troy's Hand was unknown, it was clearly no ordinary item. At least, it appeared undamaged, though the person wielding it was starting to have a slight Problem.
In just one minute, they had already exchanged hundreds of blows. Troy felt her hand going numb and her arms aching and swollen. Compared to her, Diana seemed to be handling the fight effortlessly.
Blessing of the Gods, kid.
Troy was suffering in silence. She had initiated the attack, but now she was not only on the defensive but also unable to disengage. Diana pressed her relentlessly with an even more ferocious assault. If Troy relaxed for even a moment, she would be overwhelmed and turned into Mincemeat.
Under Diana's relentless, storm-like Attack, Troy finally couldn't hold on any longer. Her Hands could barely grip her Sword. Diana seized the Opportunity, flicked the Sword from her grasp, and then pressed her own Sword against Troy's neck.
"You lost," Diana stated the fact with a Peaceful Face. "Now tell me where Circe is?"
"I told you," Troy said, her Head lowered so her Expression was hidden. "No way!"
No sooner had she spoken than Troy lunged straight at the Sword Point. Diana, wanting to extract information, naturally didn't want Troy to die, and quickly withdrew her Sword. But then, Troy unexpectedly stumbled in the opposite Direction, towards Diana.
Not understanding Troy's intention, Diana had to step back. As she retreated, she saw clearly: a Rope had appeared in Troy's Hand. That Rope was incredibly familiar to her; it was one of her original pieces of Equipment – the Lasso of Truth.
Diana's Expression changed instantly, her face lighting up with joy. This was a stroke of incredible luck, like a Pillow appearing just when you were sleepy, a pie falling from the sky! She had been worried about not being able to extract any useful information.
Diana threw her Sword towards Troy's Head. She knew that Troy, by pulling out the Lasso of Truth, still intended to fight back. Someone like that wouldn't have a Death wish. She was sure Troy would dodge.
Just as Diana predicted, Troy tilted her Head to dodge. Diana seized the Opportunity to rush forward, grabbing Troy's Hands before she could react. She hooked her long right Leg behind Troy's Legs and brought her crashing to the ground.
With one Hand pinning Troy down, Diana used her other Hand to grab the other end of the Lasso of Truth and bind Troy with it instead. It was virtually impossible for someone Controlled by the Lasso of Truth to break free on their own, and Troy was clearly no exception.
Releasing the Hand that Controlled Troy, Diana pulled Troy up with the Lasso of Truth and asked again: "Where is Circe? What Conspiracy does she have?"
"She should have gone to Washington. She made an Agreement with Klarion the Witch Boy to launch all the Nuclear Bombs to Attack various Nations in the World to trigger World War, so as to make the entire Earth fall into Chaos."
Under the Lasso of Truth's Ability, Troy confessed everything she knew in detail, even against her will.
Hearing Troy's Words, Diana's Expression changed greatly. Not daring to waste Time, she quickly contacted the others in the Justice League. She was now in Paradise Island, and it would definitely be too late to rush back to Washington. She could only pin her Hope on others.
…
Outside Paradise Island, Klarion the Witch Boy with a peculiar hairstyle watched everything that happened. When Diana instigated her Tribesmen to riot, Klarion the Witch Boy was happy because that would cause Chaos. But when Diana asked about his Plan and told it to others, Klarion the Witch Boy was unhappy.
"I've waited months for this day, and I won't let that Amazon Princess ruin my plans." Klarion the Witch Boy released the Kitty in his arms, raised his Palm, and prepared to Attack Diana, who was contacting the Justice League.
"The dignified Lord of Chaos only knows how to play some petty tricks."
The sudden Sound startled Klarion the Witch Boy. He hadn't even noticed anyone approaching. Klarion the Witch Boy immediately turned around and saw a Cyan Energy Body encased in Metal Armor. In what seemed to be the Head Position, there was also a Mask of a peculiar design.
"Who are you?" Klarion the Witch Boy hid one Hand behind his back, where vicious Magic was already gathering, ready to send this strange Lifeform to Hell at the slightest provocation.
"Before I answer you, you might as well answer my question first." Yang Le spread out his Hands. "What do I look like in your eyes?"
What kind of question was that? Klarion the Witch Boy looked at Yang Le in Puzzlement. The other's appearance hadn't changed at all because of his words; he still looked the same as before.
Ignoring the other's mysterious act, Klarion the Witch Boy lost interest in talking to Yang Le. Taking advantage of what he thought was an opening, he unleashed the Magic he had prepared. He couldn't wait to see Yang Le's reaction.
At least, that's how it seemed from his perspective, but what Yang Le saw was completely different.
In Yang Le's eyes, Klarion the Witch Boy, wearing an Evil Smile of smug satisfaction, launched the Purple Energy Ball from his Palm. As the Energy Ball left his Hand, it seemed like some change was about to occur, but that change was destined to never happen.
Because he and his Magic were forever "frozen" in this Space.
