Chapter 134: The Astonishing "Totem Imbuement" and the Living Legend
With the appearance of a new class, Tang Zheng looked at its passive ability and was momentarily at a loss. It was a passive he didn't quite know how to describe.
It didn't seem very useful.
"Perhaps it's related to the class's overall build." Tang Zheng shook his head slightly, focusing his attention on the class skill he was interested in.
If it weren't necessary to master the "Shaman Master" class to learn its skills, he wouldn't want to waste a level's worth of margin for error.
...
**Skill: Totem Imbuement**
**Cost:** 3/day — None
**Skill Description:**
Convert the soul of an animal or monster into a totem tattoo, branding it onto five locations on the body (legs, back, chest, hands, head).
Depending on the branded totem, grant a certain amount of base stat enhancement. During this process, a choice of the totem's power can be made—Physical Reinforcement/Talent Acquisition.
ps: Physical Reinforcement · When Physical Reinforcement is chosen, totems can be activated. Each activated totem can selectively enhance one of your base stats. This can be done five times consecutively (3/day).
PS: Talent Acquisition: When Talent Acquisition is chosen, you can wield a certain innate ability that the totem creature possessed in life (the number of uses is related to the number of times the creature itself could use it).
...
Tang Zheng blinked. It was the first time he had ever seen a class skill with such a lengthy description. He had to read it several times to fully understand it.
In most games, the Shaman class has always been a rather versatile one, capable of melee, ranged combat, support, and healing.
But in most cases, within the shaman class system, a player's basic choice was to lean towards the mage side or the support side.
A shaman like Zero, who displayed a purely combat-oriented tendency, was quite a rare sight.
After reading the description of "Totem Imbuement," Tang Zheng finally understood why Zero could unleash strength far exceeding his own level after activating all his totems.
However, what surprised Tang Zheng even more was that this skill actually had different combat styles.
Physical Reinforcement!
Talent Acquisition!
These were practically choices between two different playstyles!
"Talent Acquisition... wielding some ability of a beast or monster?"
Tang Zheng murmured softly to himself, a look of surprise and contemplation in his eyes.
Physical Reinforcement was self-explanatory; the combat style demonstrated by Fighting Ogre Zero was the best proof.
As for Talent Acquisition, no matter how one looked at it, in YGGDRASIL, it represented a highly variable and diverse combat style.
"It feels a bit similar to the ability of a Forest Priest," Tang Zheng mused thoughtfully.
He looked over the "Shaman Master" class again.
The more Tang Zheng looked, the more he felt that this intermediate class was likely a core class of the Shaman system.
And the two different combat styles presented by "Totem Imbuement" were also inextricably linked to subsequent classes.
For a moment, Tang Zheng felt like he had struck gold.
Tang Zheng didn't know how high the upper limit of this skill was, but its lower limit was definitely not low. The base stat bonus from the totems alone made it worthwhile.
"Only by actually using this class can I figure out the specific abilities of Talent Acquisition."
Tang Zheng suppressed the various thoughts in his mind and continued to scroll through his status panel, quickly finding a certain magic spell.
...
**Skill: Flight (Third Tier)**
**Cost:** 15 MP
**Description:** Release magical power to envelop oneself, granting the user the ability to fly. Can also be used on others.
...
This magic was, of course, something he had obtained from the Undead King, Davernoch.
Although Tang Zheng could transform into a beast or monster with flight capabilities through Wild Transformation, it wasn't the same as true flight.
[Skill Points: 39]
He originally had 40 skill points. After spending three to master the "Shaman Master" class, he gained another three from leveling up.
"It's not easy to approach Blue Rose right now."
Tang Zheng glanced out the window, his gaze shifting. "It's about time I left."
According to his knowledge, Blue Rose, the very popular adventurer team, had already completed their task and were on their way back. They should arrive at the Royal Capital in a few days.
However, Tang Zheng had no intention of making contact for the time being. It wasn't that he couldn't wait a few days, but that he had suddenly remembered something.
Aside from the members present at the start of the story, Blue Rose actually had one more: the legendary "Necromancer" of the Thirteen Heroes, Rigrit Bers Caurau.
A living legend!
She could be considered one of the earliest members to join Blue Rose. Tang Zheng highly suspected that Rigrit Bers Caurau's reason for joining Blue Rose was likely related to the family of Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra.
To put it simply, it was to protect Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra, who had impulsively formed an adventurer team.
Rigrit Bers Caurau not only had secret connections with the Platinum Dragon Lord but, as a former member of the Thirteen Heroes, was also one of the few individuals who knew for certain that Players existed.
In short, this person posed a considerable degree of danger to the current Tang Zheng.
Tang Zheng wasn't sure if Rigrit Bers Caurau had already left Blue Rose.
According to his knowledge, there were two relatively clear points in time when Rigrit Bers Caurau left Blue Rose. One was when they found Evileye; after the members of the Joint Squad defeated her, Evileye joined Blue Rose to take Rigrit's place.
The other point was related to the Ring of Genesis in Gazef's possession. That ring was a gift to Gazef from Rigrit Bers Caurau.
Between these two points, Tang Zheng couldn't currently determine if Evileye had already joined Blue Rose, but he could be certain of one other thing: Gazef did not yet possess the Ring of Genesis.
As for the upcoming fight between Leinas and Gazef, Tang Zheng had no interest in watching.
Regardless of the outcome of the fight, the objective would be achieved.
The Month of Lower Fire.
September 14th.
Imina arrived at the door of the room where Tang Zheng was staying. After waiting for a while and hearing no movement from inside, she couldn't help but raise her hand and knock.
"What's going on?"
Imina hesitated for a moment, then pushed the door open and walked in.
Only then did she discover that Tang Zheng and the lesser soulhound were long gone from the room.
"That bastard!"
"He just dumped a pile of work on me like that!" Imina stomped her foot angrily.
*Thud!*
*Thud!*
*Thud!*
The sound of several footsteps came from the top of the stairs.
Imina clearly felt the atmosphere in the entire inn suddenly grow quiet. Her expression changed slightly, and she quickly walked out of the room.
She saw three strangely dressed and dangerous-looking figures walking up the stairs.
When the three of them saw the half-elf Imina, they showed obvious expressions of surprise and then realization.
"Who are you!"
Imina watched the three, taking a cautious step back.
"Miss Thousand Kills, I am Succulent," 'Illusion Demon' Succulent took the lead, stepping forward and introducing himself with a somewhat flattering tone.
"Peshrian."
"Edstrom."
Immediately after, two other voices spoke up.
