Chapter 134

Chapter 133: An Excited Succulent, the New Class "Shaman Master"

The three surviving members of the Six Arms showed no hesitation when they heard the question.

“Live…”

“Live!”

“Live…”

The weak voices rose almost simultaneously.

The strongest Department Head, Zero, had been slain with such ease, and Davernoch and Malmvist had also died one after another.

They had thought they would be killed along with the others, but who would have expected to survive?

“L-Lord, I don't want to die.”

"Illusion Demon" Succulent lay in a pool of blood. The fear of death and the cold sensation of blood loss caused his entire body to twitch and tremble intermittently.

An arm stained with blood reached out slowly and feebly, trying to touch the hem of Tang Zheng's black robe.

“Save me… save me, I’ll do anything…”

Tang Zheng lifted his foot and walked before the three. He extended an arm from his black robe and gently swept it over their bodies.

In an instant!

The curse power entangling their bodies was dispelled.

The three, including "Illusion Demon" Succulent, felt a sense of relief as the constant bleeding from their wounds was clearly stemmed.

Tang Zheng had discovered this method of dispelling curse power lingering in an enemy's body back in the Baharuth Empire, during his combat exchange with "Warrior King" Gagaran.

This was, after all, his own power.

Dispelling and controlling one's own power was inherently part of mastering a job.

In this real otherworld, the abilities of a job were not as rigid or fixed as in a game. This was most evident in a high-tier job class like "Magic Swordsman."

*Swish!*

Tang Zheng took out a regeneration potion and sprinkled it over the three, who looked more dead than alive.

A simple treatment.

It was enough for "Illusion Demon" Succulent and the other two to finally regain some strength. Weakly, they staggered to their feet.

Night had fallen.

Under the faint starlight and moonlight, the massive bone dragon, shimmering with a silver luster and exuding a death aura, cast a shadow that enveloped the three men.

They looked up.

Seeing the mysterious figure shrouded in a black robe standing beneath the bone dragon, the three members of the Six Arms trembled and quickly lowered their heads, their faces filled with fear and terror.

The arrogance and pride they once carried had vanished completely at this moment.

“Lord, what do you need us to do?”

"Illusion Demon" Succulent's pale, gaunt face was filled with sycophantic flattery as he rushed to speak first.

He knew this powerful, mysterious figure hadn't killed them out of a sudden bout of kindness.

Tang Zheng glanced at "Illusion Demon" Succulent, the weakest of the Six Arms, and a smile formed on his lips beneath the hood.

“Bring me that head,” Tang Zheng said.

"Illusion Demon" Succulent paused for a moment, then scrambled to his feet. Ignoring the sharp pain from his wounds, he picked up Zero's head.

The terrifyingly powerful Zero was dead, just like that.

Succulent felt a daze, but even more, a profound fear.

“‘Fighting Ogre’ Zero did not die by my hand, but by yours.”

Tang Zheng said to Succulent, “I imagine the Security Division of the Eight Fingers wouldn't mind the emergence of a more powerful Department Head.”

The simple words silenced the air.

Evidently, none of the three present were fools; they quickly grasped the meaning behind Tang Zheng’s words.

"Spatial Slash" Peshrian and "Blood Moon Scimitar" Edstrom exchanged glances, a look of regret flashing in their eyes.

Meanwhile, Succulent, holding Zero’s head with trembling hands, understood perfectly what this meant.

As the weakest member of the Six Arms, Succulent knew full well that no one would believe he had killed Zero.

But so what!

Each department of the Eight Fingers was independent of the others. No matter how much the other department heads suspected or objected, one fact remained true.

The powerful "Fighting Ogre" Zero had been killed by someone even stronger!

The Eight Fingers was an underworld organization that even accepted beings like the undead; they certainly wouldn't refuse someone with more strength than Zero.

Even if this person's identity was questionable.

They were not a righteous organization to begin with!

“Lord, Succulent is willing to serve you.”

"Illusion Demon" Succulent quickly knelt, pressing his head heavily against the grassy ground, and spoke to Tang Zheng with excitement.

As long as he had the support of this powerful and mysterious Lord, he wouldn't need to fear anyone daring to compete for the position of the Security Division's Department Head.

Tang Zheng glanced at the other two.

"Blood Moon Scimitar" Edstrom and "Spatial Slash" Peshrian, no matter how much they regretted it, could only follow suit and quickly declare, “We will assist Succulent.”

Tang Zheng nodded.

He walked over to the dead "Thousand Kills" Malmvist and picked up the rose-like rapier from his body.

“Tomorrow, someone will come here with this sword. She is the new ‘Thousand Kills.’”

With that, Tang Zheng leaped onto the bone dragon.

*Boom!*

The bone dragon flapped its wings, kicking up waves of air as it disappeared into the night.

Only after Tang Zheng had completely departed did the three on the grass relax slightly.

"Illusion Demon" Succulent, who had been prostrate on the ground, stood up, his eyes filled with excitement and exhilaration as he looked at the other two.

“I’ll be relying on you both from now on.”

Succulent made no effort to hide the smugness in his tone.

He had been a little worried before.

Now, the new "Thousand Kills" mentioned by the mysterious Lord was clearly a true subordinate of that Lord. Her joining would only be beneficial to him, with no downsides.

…………

Inside the small inn.

Imina’s amber eyes were filled with worry. She glanced out the window from time to time, but of course, she could see nothing in the dark night.

“Your master left, and you’re not worried at all.” Imina suppressed the rising frustration in her heart and looked at the lesser soulhound lying on the floor.

The lesser soulhound lifted an eyelid, turned its head to the side, and completely ignored Imina.

Seeing this, Imina’s eyelid twitched, and she took a deep breath.

“I’ve heard that the horns and bone chain on an evil spirit hound are excellent magic materials. Selling you should fetch a good price,” Imina said, gritting her teeth slightly.

“Arf.”

The lesser soulhound, which had been lying down, froze. It immediately raised its head and looked at Imina cautiously.

“Heh.”

Imina let out a light laugh.

*Knock! Knock!*

Just then, a knock came from outside the room.

Before Imina could react, the lesser soulhound had already scrambled up from the floor, wrapping its bone chain around the doorknob and pulling hard.

With a *click*, the door opened.

Imina straightened her back. The worried look on her face vanished, and her expression reverted to its usual cool, emotionless facade.

“I thought you wouldn't be back until dawn. It seems things didn't go smoothly,” Imina said coolly, first sizing up Tang Zheng, then lifting her slender arms to cross them over her chest.

Looking at the lesser soulhound that had opened the door, Tang Zheng reached out and patted its head before pulling back the hood covering his own, revealing a smiling face.

“No.”

“Things went much more smoothly than I imagined.”

Tang Zheng took out the rose rapier and tossed it to Imina. “A gift for you.”

“A gift?”

Imina was clearly stunned, catching the rose rapier out of reflex.

It was a pure silver rapier. The hilt was a blooming rose, and the entire blade faintly shimmered with the light of magic power, indicating it was a magic weapon.

With her experience as a worker, Imina's intuition told her that the price of this magic weapon was far beyond what she could afford.

Tang Zheng briefly explained the sword’s abilities.

Besides being made entirely of mithril, the sword was enchanted with two kinds of magic, "Flesh Rend" and "Assassin's Expertise."

One could twist the surrounding muscles the instant it pierced flesh, while the other could magnify a small wound.

Simply put, anyone struck by this sword, even with a simple graze, would suffer a serious injury. It was an exceptionally dangerous piercing weapon.

Possessing the Skirmisher job class and excelling at agile combat, Imina was a perfect fit for such a weapon.

To Tang Zheng, this kind of weapon wasn't particularly valuable. Its enchanted abilities were child's play compared to his curse power.

“Are you sure this is a gift, not payment?”

Imina held the rose rapier, taking a slight breath. A change in emotion she herself hadn't noticed crept into her voice.

“Starting tomorrow, you will be ‘Thousand Kills,’ one of the Six Arms of the Eight Fingers. That is your payment.”

Tang Zheng spread his hands. “Of course, you also know I’ll be leaving for a while, so I’ll have to trouble you with taking full control of the Eight Fingers' Security Division.”

Imina looked astonished, staring at Tang Zheng as if to say, “Are you kidding me?”

After a moment, seeing that there was no hint of a joke on Tang Zheng’s face, Imina swallowed hard.

“Heh.”

Imina gazed at the rose rapier in her hand, her amber eyes shimmering as she muttered:

“I knew your payment wouldn’t be so simple.”

This man before her was truly not as simple as he seemed.

There was a brief silence.

“Why give it to me?” Imina didn't ask how Tang Zheng had managed it, but asked instead.

“Because you’re a Half-Elf,” Tang Zheng replied without any concealment.

“I see.”

Imina nodded. She lifted the rose rapier and walked towards the door, her purple twin-tails swaying with her movement.

“Just don't worry about me making a complete mess of things.”

As her voice faded, the door closed again.

Tang Zheng stretched. “The initial arrangements in the Re-Estize Kingdom are more or less complete. Next, it's time to think about my own affairs.”

He truly wasn't worried about any problems on Imina's side.

Whether it was "Illusion Demon" Succulent or the new "Thousand Kills" Imina, everything they now possessed came from him.

And the true root of it all was ‘Strength’.

Once one understood this, many things became much simpler.

Tang Zheng eagerly opened his stat panel and looked at the information displayed.
