Chapter 42

chapter 024 part 2

On The Moon, a strangely shaped person, with a large head and small body, was silently gazing into the distance with his hands behind his back. His gaze crossed vast Space-time, seeing things that ordinary people simply couldn’t.

“Hmm, this Universe is truly interesting. Even Odin was taken out…”

Uatu mused and enthusiastically recorded the event. As a member of The Watchers, this was his duty: to record all observed Major Events into The Watchers’ Core System, preserving precious historical data of the Universe.

The Watchers are an extremely ancient race in the Multiverse. Members of their race exist in every Universe, and their value lies in being solely responsible for recording the Major Events occurring in each Universe, but never interfering with the process.

Whether it’s the birth or destruction of a world, they, true to their name, are only responsible for observing and recording, diligently and conscientiously.

Now, Uatu felt things were getting interesting. Odin was taken out, Asgard was destroyed, the entire World Tree was about to fall into chaos, and a great war was imminent.

“Olympus and the Celestial Court are about to return. Without the Aesir, they no longer have a reason to stay away from the World Tree. The entire World Tree will fall under the shadow of the returning God Race…”

Uatu diligently recorded.

A figure stood beside him.

Black Bolt watched him quietly. As fellow inhabitants of The Moon, they naturally knew each other, but usually ignored each other, neither interfering nor paying attention.

“Don’t ask me what to do. Even if this Universe is destroyed, I will simply silently move to another Universe and will not interfere with any process.”

Uatu didn’t even lift his head and said casually.

Black Bolt remained silent, watching him in silence.

The two confronted each other like this, the atmosphere eerie.

Finally, Black Bolt couldn’t hold back and was the first to leave.

Uatu turned his head to glance at him, shaking his head slightly. Black Bolt couldn’t hold back anymore; he was planning to seek revenge on the Kree…

But that had nothing to do with him; he was just a recorder.

Earth.

Intense Energy Fluctuations began to erupt. When Loki stepped through the Space-Time Vortex with a cold smile, he had already arrived on Earth from the distant stars.

The moment Asgard collapsed, he luckily activated the Bifrost and randomly teleported away. This was an extremely risky move; he might have been teleported into the core of a star and burned to death instantly.

But he had returned nonetheless, filled with rage and resentment.

“Foolish Humans, you are meddling with weapons you cannot possibly control.”

Loki arrogantly looked down at all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents present. Behind him, the passage opened by the Cosmic Cube was slowly closing.

Just moments ago, the Cosmic Cube lost control, and amidst its vibrations, opened a Space-Time Tunnel, teleporting Loki to Earth.

Coulson, his face grim, said in a low voice to the researchers, “Shut down the Cosmic Cube, now, immediately!”

The researchers, drenched in sweat, nodded.

Coulson was covertly sizing up the man with a cautious gaze while rapidly integrating a large amount of intelligence in his mind, and said in a low voice, “No matter where you came from, you have invaded a S.H.I.E.L.D. secret base, seriously threatened Earth’s safety, and we will arrest you…”

Suddenly, Coulson stopped speaking. Looking at the man’s attire, he suddenly understood his identity.

An Asgardian.

“Towards your Deity, you should maintain heartfelt reverence and worship, not stand straight as you are now, daring to speak to me directly.”

Loki smiled, while obsessively touching the strange Scepter in his hand. Then, he directly walked past the agents; anyone who tried to stop him was annihilated by a casual strike from Loki. He then picked up the Cosmic Cube.

The ceaseless blue glow emitted a captivating luster, dazzling and mesmerizing.

Coulson’s face fell, and he immediately drew his gun, aiming at Loki, though it was useless. “This is a treasure belonging to Earth, and your current audacious actions will spark a new war!”

“War? The entire World Tree is already preparing for war, and you don’t even know? That madman Martin, he destroyed Asgard! Without the protection of a powerful Asgard, the World Tree is doomed!” Loki’s face twisted into a snarl; deep hatred and madness were revealed in that countenance.

Everything was gone.

His birth father, adoptive father, brother, and even that convenient older sister, along with the home he had lived in for over a thousand years, all were gone, all systematically destroyed. And the one who caused all of this was Martin, that Demon-like man!!

He had come this time with an important mission, and was even a pawn sent by a certain Gorr the God Butcher to test the waters. Loki was well aware of this, but he was content; as long as he was given the power to exact revenge, he would be more than satisfied.

Even an ant could take a painful bite out of an elephant, making it hurt, and that was enough.

WHIZZ!

Hawkeye, in an instant, fired an arrow.

The explosive arrow emitted a piercing screech in the air and sped towards Loki, but Loki curved his lips into a smile once more; this time, it was a cold one.

BANG!

The explosion rang out, engulfing Loki.

“Well done!” Coulson’s eyes gleamed as he ordered in a rapid tone, “All agents, sedate him immediately; do not kill him unless absolutely necessary.”

Chapter 57

Numerous S.H.I.E.L.D. agents began drawing their weapons and firing; gunshots erupted loudly, and a large number of tranquilizer darts hit the center of the explosion.

However, it was all useless. Even though S.H.I.E.L.D. had repeatedly enhanced the potency of the tranquilizers, they still underestimated their opponent, underestimated how powerful the body of a Frost Giant descendant truly was.

Loki didn’t even lose a single hair.

“You plan to subdue me with these pretty toys?”

Loki wore a wicked, charming smile, his expression twisted. He casually caught a bullet with his bare hand and examined it, then tossed it to the ground, sneering repeatedly. He was a God! Especially after he acquired the Mind Scepter from Thanos, he was a true God!
