Chapter 38
chapter 022 part 2
Stormbreaker, even now, was a Divine Artifact that only existed in concept. Its forging difficulty was immense, but likewise, if it could truly be successfully forged according to their design... there was no doubt that this would be the strongest Divine Artifact in the history of the Nine Realms!
It would come with the protective blessing of Asgard, and once successfully forged, it would possess terrifying omni-elemental Divine Power!
It would come with the Bifrost, capable of instantly reaching any corner of the entire Universe!
And if one considered that this Stormbreaker was forged from the melted-down Spear of Eternity, a top-tier offensive Divine Artifact, its destructive power would be immeasurable.
Likewise, there were only a handful of individuals in all the Nine Realms worthy enough to wield Stormbreaker!
Odin leaned against the wall, slowly closing his eyes, seemingly lost in meditative thought. In reality, he was merely trying to delay the flow of life as much as possible through this method.
He truly was on the verge of Death; he could clearly feel Death's arrival, the laws of Death slowly binding his body, tearing at his Soul.
Faintly, Odin seemed to see a blurred, black-robed figure flash by, eerily similar to his queen.
But... Odin clearly knew that the figure was not Frigga at all, but one of the Five Great Creation Gods... Death.
The true Supreme God, the ultimate end of life that all living beings feared. Legend had it that every existence reaching its end would meet Death, and their Soul would ultimately fall into Death's hands.
Death was both a truly existing Creator God and an omnipresent Cosmic Law; she was the ultimate end of extinction itself.
"Legend says, everyone sees Death differently."
Odin whispered with his eyes closed.
The Dwarf King's body trembled, but he pretended not to hear, continuing his work.
"Just a little more time, I can't die yet..."
Odin murmured in a voice only he could hear, almost pleading.
In a corner of the Domain of Life that he directly perceived, that shadow, out of place with life, always existed, constantly watching him, and drawing ever closer.
Time flowed on, and the Dwarf King's forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat. He knew who the murmuring Odin was conversing with; every ancient civilization was bound to have records of that entity.
Clang, clang, clang...
With the final powerful strike, the Spear of Eternity finally melted. The entire Dwarves gave their all to forge the new weapon, finally bringing the conceptual weapon into existence.
And it was even more powerful and terrifying than imagined!!
Simply resting in place, it generated incredibly terrifying Divine Power, to the point where even the neutron star subtly seemed unable to sustain it!
Odin suddenly opened his eyes. In his dim gaze, a hint of his former vigor finally returned. He struggled to his feet, panting slightly, and walked over step by step, reaching out and grasping it.
"No, it still lacks a handle! Everyone, go immediately to find a handle!" The Dwarf King intended to stop Odin.
Odin's voice was calm: "The handle, I have it. I've always had it."
Saying this, he produced a dry, branch-like object.
The moment he saw the branch, the Dwarf King's expression utterly changed, his face filled with shock: "This is... a root of the World Tree?! You went to meet that Dragon?"
Chapter 52
The root of the World Tree could be called the most precious part of the entire World Tree, containing the laws and power of the World Tree!
Yet this most fundamental area had always been gnawed upon by a terrifying Demonic Dragon. Everyone knew that once the roots were completely devoured, the entire World Tree would collapse, and the doom of the Nine Realms would arrive.
If Asgard's Ragnarök was Surtur, then the Ragnarök spanning the World Tree was this Demonic Dragon named Nidhogg!
Odin, with a silent expression, attached the root directly to Stormbreaker. In that instant, the axe displayed a terrifying might, causing the entire Dwarven Kingdom to tremble violently, everyone's face changing.
Odin remained silent, raising Stormbreaker high. The great Bifrost descended, directly teleporting him back to Asgard, back to his world.
The Dwarf King watched in silence the entire time, finally letting out a long sigh: "World Tree, why have you become like this...?"
Amidst a howl, Odin returned to Asgard. He looked down from space to see the entire continent engulfed in war, countless citizens wailing. He saw Laufey leading various Giants in a frenzied slaughter, corpses strewn everywhere.
"Laufey, today is your doomsday!"
Odin took a deep breath, his body aged, yet imperceptibly, the power emanating from him became even more terrifying. Especially with Stormbreaker in hand, every instant saw a surge of terrifying Divine Power far exceeding anything before.
Laufey looked up, sneering: "Odin, I thought you'd already died in some corner of the Universe..."
Saying this, he directly took out the Casket of Ancient Winters. The recovered treasure bolstered his confidence. He immediately opened the casket, and a good portion of Asgard instantly transformed into a world of ice and snow.
Odin brought the axe down, engaging Laufey in battle!
Upon contact, Laufey, who had been so sure of victory, instantly changed his expression, revealing deep horror. Each of his opponent's strikes actually caused terrible wounds on his body; an Odin of such strength was unprecedented.
"How is this possible?! You should be on the verge of Death!!" Laufey roared in fury, raising the Casket of Ancient Winters high, intermittently controlling immense frost Divine Power to battle Odin. The entirety of Asgard fell into massive tremors.
Divine Power surged across the sky; each strike capable of obliterating stars. Two God Kings clashed with full force on the grand land of Asgard.
At this moment, the killing intent in Odin's heart was stronger than ever. What unsettled Laufey even more was the distinct, suicidal resolve emanating from Odin.
Boom!
With another clash, the Casket of Ancient Winters was instantly shattered by Stormbreaker!
Terrifying cold emanated, and Laufey bore the brunt. His face drastically changing, even his entire body's Divine Power was inevitably momentarily frozen by this extreme chill.
"Farewell, Laufey. A million years of conflict ends today. We shall meet again before Death."
Odin's white long hair billowed. In the biting cold wind, he tore off his attire symbolizing the God King, swung Stormbreaker, insanely siphoned off all the Divine Power from Asgard, and then brought it down with a fierce chop.
In that instant, the entire Milky Way Galaxy seemed to be split in two, completely torn apart by this single strike of Stormbreaker. Countless stars collapsed on the spot, departed souls wailed, and Death smiled.
Laufey, the King of Giants, his face frozen forever, was annihilated in this unprecedented strike.
