Chapter 93
Chapter 93: There's Another Undercover Agent?
2024-05-15 Author: Samsung Charmander (Author Name)
Surrounded by the crowd, Ash could only rise slowly, steeling himself as he tested the waters.
"Heh heh, I'm a new intern. That's fine, right?"
His plan had been to sneak into the building, bypass all the grunts, and then, just as the Boss was gloating, suddenly appear from the shadows and press a blade to his neck.
Finally, he would coolly deliver that line.
"Get out of Saffron City, or die. Pick one."
He had even thought up the script for the author.
But now it was over before it even began?
A group of members in Rainbow Group uniforms stared at him menacingly, closing in step by step.
"This kid is the mouse the Boss was talking about!"
"Don't even try to take him from me! This head is mine today!"
"For Squirtle's sake! I've been stuck at Bronze for five years, just let me have this one!"
The crowd chattered away, arguing over the rights to Ash's head. He wanted to escape, but the elevator entrance was now completely sealed off by the mob, leaving not a single gap. The elevator behind him was also closed.
"That head is mine!"
As the first person lunged at Ash, the entire crowd erupted like rabid dogs, pouncing on the still-reacting Ash and tackling him to the ground.
"The head is mine!"
"Damn it! Don't touch my head!"
Dozens of men piled on top of Ash like a human pyramid. The scene was, for a moment, incredibly intense.
Had it been a normal person, the combined weight of dozens of adult men would have likely crushed them into a paper-thin figure, as if from a dimensionality reduction attack. Even with Ash's physical density, he was barely holding on.
"Enough!"
Pinned to the floor, his ears filled with the sounds of people debating who got to take his head, Ash let out a sudden roar and thrust out a finger.
"Pikachu, don't hold back for my sake! Use Thunderbolt!!"
Thanks to its small size, Pikachu struggled out from a gap in the pile, scrambled onto the head of a grunt at the very top, and unleashed a burst of electric current from its cheeks. Yellow electric snakes shot out in all directions, crazily striking the crowd.
"Pika, chu!!"
Thunderbolt erupted!!
In an instant, everyone, including Ash, was struck squarely by the powerful electric current. Their bodies convulsed, crackling audibly, and in the explosive flashes of light, one could even faintly see their white bones.
*Zzzzzzzzzz*
The smell of cooked meat and a thin green smoke filled the air.
Soon, the Thunderbolt dissipated. After a final, violent shiver, Ash pushed himself off the ground and slowly stood up. His face was a little blackened. He grabbed the employees who had been pinning him down—now electrocuted and unconscious—and tossed them aside as if they were dead dogs.
If you can't tell them apart, just zap them all and see who can take it.
He wasn't competing in anything else but whose body was more like rubber!
After a moment, a few of them shakily regained consciousness. Including the opportunists who had been hanging back from the start, content to watch and reap the benefits later, there were still about a dozen people standing.
"Tch, some can still withstand it, huh..."
Ash frowned, thinking to himself that this world really did have some rubber people in it.
But since he had been discovered, he might as well have a proper battle!
Warily eyeing the Pikachu nearby, the dozen or so employees didn't dare to rush in and use their bodies again. One by one, they threw out their Poké Balls.
"Come out, Magnemite."
"Come out, Zubat!"
"Come out, Grimer!"
"Come out, Rattata!"
"..."
The hall was instantly filled with a number of Pokemon, but judging by their physique, they were all likely grunts. Ash quickly patted his chest, calming the battle-hungry person raging within his soul.
"Brother Red, they're all just fodder. No need for you to step up."
Red: "?"
Ash then shouted:
"Pikachu, one more Thunderbolt! Finish them all at once!"
"Pika!"
Pikachu shot forward, leaping high into the air as lightning once again sparked from its cheeks.
"Don't panic, leave it to me!"
Facing the yellow lightning, a man who looked like a nerdy engineer strode forward and pointed a finger.
"Go, Magnemite! Block its Thunderbolt!"
A normal Magnemite's lightning is blue, a negative charge, which has good resistance against the yellow, positive charge of a Pikachu.
This was the advantage gained from his diligent study of physics and chemistry!
"Bzz bzz!"
The Magnemite levitated, the magnets on its sides emitting arcs of blue lightning. It then used its body to absorb all of Pikachu's yellow lightning.
"Zzzzzzzzzz!!"
Seeing this, Pikachu's eyes narrowed. The electric-type attack from its cheeks surged, and the Thunderbolt abruptly doubled in thickness, blazing like fierce flames!
The Magnemite was instantly demagnetized, regardless of positive or negative poles.
The immense power sent the Magnemite flying backward, finally slamming it and the electric current into the rear wall, blasting a large pit into it.
"BOOM!!"
Puffs of black smoke rose up. At the center, the Magnemite's eyes had already turned into "X-X"s from the terrifying thunder shock, to say nothing of blocking the Thunderbolt.
"..."
All the surrounding grunts couldn't help but take half a step back, clearly stunned by this Pikachu's power.
Were these ornamental electric mouse Pokemon supposed to be this strong now?
It was important to know that in Team Rocket's greater ecosystem, the Fire Rank held a higher status than the Rainbow Rank. The fodder here were all from the Rainbow Group, basically at the Bronze level. In a fight, their strategic role was basically to shout from the back.
They were just there to fill the numbers.
Seeing this, Ash's confidence surged. His still-bleeding, bandaged hand clenched into a fierce, almost rabid fist, and he once again ordered Pikachu to attack.
"Pikachu, use Quick Attack!"
"Don't think it's that simple! Zubat, use Supersonic..."
Before the grunt could finish his sentence, Pikachu's figure had already vanished. A second later, a brilliant shockwave of white light sent the Zubat, which hadn't even opened its mouth, flying.
Ash's gaze burned as he pressed the pursuit.
"Finish them now! Use Thunderbolt!!"
"Pika, chu!!"
Taking advantage of the opening in mid-air, Pikachu flipped over, stomped on the stunned Zubat, and unleashed another close-range Thunderbolt.
"Zzzzzzzzzz!!"
Under the terrifying electric current, the numerous Rattata, Grimer, and their ilk quickly lost their combat capability and collapsed to the ground.
Ash frowned and blurted out:
"Pikachu, I told you to shock the people, not the Pokemon."
They had already infiltrated the enemy's main camp, why not just shock the people directly?
Pikachu: "?"
Whatever, one more jolt would do.
Pikachu used Thunderbolt for the fourth time. The powerful electric current spread out in all directions, forming a circle that enveloped all the remaining grunts.
"Zzzzzzzzzz"
The next second, without their Pokemon to protect them, the dozen or so rubber people all lost their combat capability and collapsed to the ground, their bodies completely paralyzed.
With Ash's current strength from his three badges, he was already far superior to ordinary fodder trainers. Even without his Gengar, it was still effortless.
*Zzzz*
Suddenly, something strange happened on the field.
The electric current was still crackling, but it seemed to be blocked by something, unable to fully spread out.
Ash shot his head up, and the sight that met his eyes left him utterly shocked.
Among the crowd of grunts, two were still standing firm. One tall, one short, the shorter one about the same height as him.
In front of the taller man was a deep blue Pokemon. It had a peculiar shape, like a columnar rock floating in mid-air, with a round, single-eyed rock for a head.
A special, invisible telekinesis energy faintly surrounded the blue Pokemon's body, blocking the Thunderbolt and leaving it completely unharmed.
The shorter guy's situation was even more bizarre.
He was currently holding something that looked like a wooden sword. His hands were spinning and whirling in front of him at an insane speed, turning the wooden sword into an impenetrable shield that blocked the powerful Thunderbolt.
Blocking a Thunderbolt with his physical body... no matter how you looked at it, it was just ridiculous.
Just as Ash thought he had run into some tough nuts from the Rainbow Group and was about to have Pikachu ramp up the power for another blast, the two people opposite him suddenly raised their hands and shouted in unison:
"Don't shoot, we're on the same side!"
After speaking, the two then subconsciously looked at each other, mutually dumbfounded.
By Wartortle's shell! There's another undercover agent?!
