Chapter 400

Chapter 396: Pikachu is Unable to Battle, So Pikachu Wins!
2024-05-15 Author: Samsung Charmander (Author Name)

Rehn was sent flying several meters by a Headbutt combined with Quick Attack. After landing on all fours, it dug its claws into the ground to stabilize itself.

"Pika!"

It looked up and cried out, signaling that it wasn't a big deal.

Seeing this, Ash pointed a hand forward and attacked again.
"In that case, Pikachu, use Iron Tail!"

Pikachu understood. Its tail was instantly coated in a sharp, silver sheen, radiating extraordinary power. It moved on all fours, rapidly closing in on its target.

"Iron Tail...?"

Ritchie's expression changed, and sweat dripped from his brow. Steel-type moves were popular in the Johto Region but hadn't really spread throughout the Kanto Region. It was only after participating in the Indigo League Conference that he learned a Pikachu could even learn such a move.

His Pikachu couldn't.

Rehn wasn't a Pokémon that could simply steal moves; it couldn't just watch a recording and copy them. Or rather, a normal Pokémon was completely incapable of doing such a thing!

But Ritchie quickly came up with a new plan. "Rehn, use Agility to dodge it!"

Hearing the command, Rehn moved swiftly. Its body zipped across the entire arena at such high speed that it left dozens of afterimages, as if it were using Double Team.

"Swoosh!"

Pikachu swung its Iron Tail at the closest figure, but it passed straight through, failing to hit a solid body.

By the time it reacted, it found itself surrounded by the figures of a Pikachu running at high speed, unable to distinguish which was the real one.

Ash pointed down with an air of dominance.
"Pikachu, use Iron Tail on the ground!"

Pikachu showed a confident expression. It kicked off the ground with its short legs, leaping high into the air. Its body spun a few times in mid-air, its tail once again glowing with a cold light before it slammed down hard on the ground below.

"K-rumble...!"

The power was so immense that a crack several meters long split open from the point where the tail struck the ground. Immediately after, the entire arena began to tremble violently.

If you were to convert that into a tremor-based move, it would be about a Magnitude 6, with roughly 50 Power—basically a small earthquake.

The trembling of the ground made it difficult for Rehn to maintain its high-speed run. The dozens of afterimages vanished simultaneously, leaving only a single, solid figure clinging to the ground to keep its balance.

Although Agility could create the effect of Double Team, they were two different moves. The former required constant movement; as soon as the motion slowed, the afterimages would disperse.

The latter, however, relied on some mysterious power, allowing it to maintain the effect of Double Team even while standing still.

After its tail struck the earth, Pikachu performed a forward somersault to land, pushing off the instant its forelimbs touched the ground to charge forward again in an incredibly smooth motion.

"Pika-chu!!"

Its tail performed a wide sweep, striking Rehn squarely in the stomach while it was still trying to regain its balance.

"BOOM!!"

Before Rehn could even react, the immense force from the blow sent it flying several meters, almost making it spit out the Mouse Food it had for breakfast.

"Rehn!!"

Ritchie's voice was tinged with anxiety. *Don't tell me I can't even take down one of Ash's Pokémon today?* he thought.

"No, there's still a chance!"

His eyes filled with determination once more. When it came to Electric Mouse Pokémon, his Rehn would never admit defeat!

Sure enough, amidst the smoke and dust, Rehn struggled back to its feet. It had a few more wounds, but its expression showed no sign of surrender.

When two Electric-type mice fought, everything else was just for show. There was only one thing that truly mattered.

Both trainers arrived at the same answer in their hearts. Ritchie and Ash both roared out their commands:

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!!" "Rehn, use Thunderbolt!!"

The two Electric Mouse Pokémon dug their paws firmly into the ground, arching their backs. The electric sacs on their cheeks crackled with impressive lightning energy, arcs of current bursting forth...

"Pika... CHU!!"

In the next second, terrifying yellow electricity erupted from both mice simultaneously, twisting into the shape of coiled electric snakes as they shot towards the sky above the center of the arena.

"BZZZZ-BOOM!!"

Two identical-looking Thunderbolts clashed!

Instantly, sparks of electricity shot into the sky. A golden light illuminated everyone's faces. The collision of powerful Electric-type energy filled the air with an intimidating pressure that put everyone on edge.

"BOOM! BOOM!!"

Soon, a massive explosion of black smoke erupted from the point of impact, shrouding the entire arena. It took several long minutes before it finally dissipated.

"Chuuu!!!"

However, from within the smoke and dust, the cries of the two Pikachu hadn't stopped. Their voices even began to crack from the strain as immense lightning energy continued to pour out of them, seemingly without end.

The immense pressure from the electric current even caused the arena ground beneath the two Pikachu to crack and collapse, forming a small crater.

"Bzzz..."

The clash of Thunderbolts lasted for nearly three minutes before the dazzling electric light gradually faded.

Both Pikachu were panting heavily. Sporadic sparks of electricity still trickled from their cheeks, as if they were leaking. The high-intensity discharge had taken a significant toll on both of them.

"Hiss... Is their electric power evenly matched?"

Ritchie frowned deeply. His Pikachu's greatest strength was the power of its Thunderbolt; this was the first time it had ever been on par with another Pikachu.

On the other side, Ash suddenly spoke, his expression confident and resolute.

"Is that the extent of your electric power?"

This sentence stunned Ritchie. *Could Pikachu unleash an even more powerful electric attack?*

But Ash's Pikachu had already raised its forelimbs again. Its posture mirrored Ash's as electricity sparked anew from its cheeks. Its small body now contained an incredibly terrifying energy, enough to make one's scalp tingle.

Seeing this, Ash raised his arm high into the air and roared:
"Pikachu, use the most powerful Thunder!!"

"Pika... CHU!!"

Pikachu cried out towards the sky, raising one paw. A dazzling golden bolt of lightning erupted from its body, not aimed at any target, but shooting straight up into the sky.

The clouds above immediately began to roil like a thunderhead, with flashes of lightning visible within.

Then, Pikachu's presence swelled to its peak, and the small, raised paw slowly lowered.

"BOOM!!"

In the next instant, a golden bolt of lightning fell from the clouds. It was incredibly fast, forming a pillar of lightning that struck Rehn dead-on in the arena!

The Thunder carried an energy like heavenly might, and the terrifying pressure of the lightning was so intense that Rehn, caught in the center, was completely unable to struggle, its four limbs pinned firmly to the ground.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!"

The lightning erupted with unstoppable force!!

This scene left not only the audience stunned, but even Ritchie, who specialized in training Electric Mouse Pokémon, was dumbfounded.

In their daze, they thought they saw the electricity coalesce into a giant, blue beast of lightning that relentlessly tore at its target, but the sensation was fleeting.

"What the hell do you call that Thunder...?"

Ritchie blurted out, even swearing, his face a mask of utter shock.

Although Rehn didn't know Thunder, he was familiar with the move. And you're telling me *this* is called Thunder?!

Other than both being Electric-type, how did that resemble Thunder in any way?!

"Damn, isn't that Brother Red's move? Did Ash steal it this quickly...?" Misty, sitting in the audience stands, was a bit dazed and couldn't help but mutter.

Back then, Red's round-faced Pikachu had used that exact move to one-hit KO Koga's Elite Four-level Arbok.

"I also thought it would take at least a few years to copy it completely... This is absurd."

Next to her, Brock was also dumbfounded, his eyes widening in shock.

"The power is still way off, but with that form and presence, he must have copied at least 50% of it, right?"

In another corner of the audience seating, the corner of the Faceless Trainer's mouth, who was possessed by Red, curled into an intriguing smile.

"This kid... he really doesn't hold back when it comes to stealing a signature move from one of his own."

But 50% was indeed an overstatement. That move, Lightning Qilin, was a power his round-faced Pikachu could only unleash after stepping into the Ultimate State Realm. How could it be so easily mastered?

"10% at best."

"Pika... pika..."

In the arena, the pillar of lightning quickly dissipated. Executing that move had been a massive drain on Pikachu; its entire body was trembling uncontrollably as it collapsed in exhaustion.

On the other side, Rehn had completely lost consciousness, lying collapsed on the spot, its skin covered in scorch marks.

A ring-shaped crater of shattered gravel had formed on the ground around its body, and stray currents still flashed across the arena as leftover energy coursed through it.

"Rehn is unable to battle! Therefore, Pikachu wins!"

The Referee quickly raised his hand, declaring the verdict.
