The Whismur shook its head back and forth on the spot. Its eyes had a dazed, cross-shaped pattern, looking as if it was constantly in a state of Confusion.

In the darkness, Ash couldn't make out its specific appearance. He could only see the dense, sharp fangs within its gaping maw, snapping open and shut as it lunged straight for him.
*Rumble!*
Its heavy lower limbs thudded against the ground, sending tremors through the earth.
"!"
A jolt shot through Ash. A strong gust of wind assailed him; the giant beast that had been over a dozen meters away was now right in front of him in the blink of an eye. Ash could even clearly see the inside of its wide-open, bloody maw.
"Pika!!"
Pikachu immediately used Ash's shoulder as a springboard and leaped forcefully.
Its body spun horizontally, its tail transforming into an Iron Tail in mid-air!
*SWISH—BAM!!*
The heavy-hitting Iron Tail struck squarely against the snapping maw.
Pikachu's small frame was a stark contrast to the other's massive body.
But even so, Pikachu still managed to viciously knock the beast's head to the side.
Only then did Ash hastily retreat a few steps, maintaining the proper distance for a Trainer.
A human should not directly participate in a battle between Pokémon.
With some breathing room, Ash fixed his gaze and finally identified the creature that had suddenly attacked him.
It was a huge, reddish-brown dinosaur. Despite its thick, massive body and lower limbs, its arms appeared remarkably small.
Its entire body was covered in rough, rock-like reddish-brown scales. It had a majestic head with rock spikes protruding above its eyes, and a ruff of tough, grayish-white fur-like spikes encircled its chin and neck.
Most striking was its enormous lower jaw, which made the dinosaur's mouth incredibly large, its upper and lower jaws lined with sharp, ferocious fangs.
"What is this Pokémon?!"
This was the first time Ash had ever seen a Tyrannosaurus rex-like Pokémon, and he quickly pulled out his Pokédex.
From the looks of it, it was probably a creature from the same era as Aerodactyl.
"Dee-dee-dee. Tyrantrum, the Tyrant Pokémon. A Rock- and Dragon-type. It is a Fossil Pokémon from the Kalos Region. In ancient times, it was the land's king, priding itself on being invincible. The power of its great jaws can crunch through anything, and it acts like a king."
Hearing this, Ash was secretly amazed.
Aerodactyl was the overlord of the sky... so the overlord of the land back then was this Pokémon in front of him?
As expected, it was incredibly domineering!
"But why would a Fossil Pokémon from the Kalos Region suddenly appear in the outskirts of the Hoenn Region?"

Taking an Iron Tail to the chin from Pikachu made the Tyrantrum shake its head.

It immediately let out another loud roar, snapping its fangs open and closed, creating a chilling, grating sound.
It seemed to be taunting Pikachu's strength, as if it were merely a tickle.

Pikachu's ears twitched, its eyes turning slightly red.
The Taunt move was successful; it could now only use direct attack moves.
*BZZZT-BOOM!!*
Without waiting for Ash's command, Pikachu leaped high into the air. A violent, golden electric current burst from its tensed body, finally shooting out as a crooked electric snake.
The opponent wasn't a Ground-type, so even Thunderbolt would be effective.
However, the Tyrantrum chose not to dodge, instead opening its bloody maw once more.
With a mouth of that size, it could probably eat twenty Pikachus at once.
*CRACKLE!!*
A similar spark of electricity surprisingly appeared between the Tyrantrum's fangs. In less than a moment, a thick tooth of electric current had finished forming.
*BZZZZ!!*
When Pikachu's Thunderbolt descended, it was as if it had encountered a magnet with maxed-out attraction. Its trajectory swerved, and all of it rushed toward Tyrantrum's Thunder Fang, merging into one.
This caused the imposing might of Tyrantrum's Thunder Fang to reach its peak in an instant!
"Dee-dee-dee. Tyrantrum's Ability: Strong Jaw. The power of biting moves is significantly increased."
The Pokédex automatically reported.
Tyrantrum was already taking heavy strides, charging toward Pikachu once more.
Combined with the berserk lightning between its fangs, its terrifying presence seemed to make the surrounding air solidify, making it difficult to breathe.
"Pikachu, dodge it!!"
Facing such an opponent for the first time, Ash didn't dare to take the hit head-on and quickly commanded.
Fortunately, while this Tyrantrum's Strength was terrifying, its Speed was lacking, to say nothing of Pikachu's agility.

Pikachu kicked off to the side, allowing the massive Thunder Fang to miss.

After landing, its head was spinning.
"Whoa, what a formidable dinosaur...!"
After the exchange, Ash couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.
His expression gradually turned solemn, not daring to be the least bit careless. He never expected to encounter such a formidable foe in the calm of the night.
"ROOOAR!!!"
Having landed a successful strike, the Tyrantrum entered a frenzied state.
Large rocks began to form on its two small claws, which it then hurled at Pikachu in quick succession.
Rock Blast!!
Pikachu, having been knocked down, was now fired up as well. It immediately leaped into the air, and as its body spun, the tip of its tail gathered a large net of lightning.
*BOOM!*
The electric glow spread across the sky, catching all of the Rock Blast projectiles in one go. The move then exploded in the center, setting off a terrifying blast!
