Chapter 831: Cosmic Planet (2)
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Among Earthlings, there are always some remarkable individuals capable of doing things that would leave even the ancient gods dumbfounded.
If one were to count on their fingers and pick out the most audacious Earthling, Tony would probably be one of them. But if you asked Tony himself, he would likely feel that everything he's done is not even worth mentioning in front of a certain ancient figure from Earth.
That man knocked up one of the Top Ten Celestials.
That man was Zhang Heng, a once-in-a-generation hidden dragon, a great man of the Eastern Han Dynasty—yes, the same one from the history textbooks who invented the seismoscope. He should have shaken the Multiverse, but the Celestials forcefully concealed his story.
Even the Celestials felt this matter was an utter disgrace.
During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Heng, as the leader of Earth's supreme guardian organization of that era—the Brotherhood of the Shield, the predecessor to the modern S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.P.E.A.R.—accomplished something that shocked the Celestials. To protect Earth, he single-handedly confronted an ancient Celestial who had descended with malicious intent toward the planet, resolutely stepping forward to save all of humanity.
That ancient Celestial was the lowest-ranking member of the Top Ten Celestials, Goddess.
It's unknown how this valiant warrior, Zhang Heng, managed it, but he did. He successfully got Goddess pregnant, reaching a pinnacle of life that countless ancient gods could only look up to in awe.
Although no one could figure out how Zhang Heng, who was less than two meters tall, managed to get the six-hundred-meter-tall Goddess pregnant, this true man somehow pulled it off. He even managed to trick Goddess into entering the Sun to give birth to the child, thus averting a world-ending crisis for Earth and even the Prime Universe.
After Goddess left, this 'heartbreaker' Zhang Heng even attempted to rush into the Sun to kill the child. This was because it was the offspring of a Celestial, embodying the Celestial's will, and its loyalties would never align with Zhang Heng or the Earthlings. It was only a matter of time before it would threaten Earth. However, for various reasons, he did not succeed.
After Zhang Heng's death, the new leader of the Brotherhood of the Shield, a man named Da Vinci, inherited Zhang Heng's will—that's right, the one from the textbooks who painted. Da Vinci forged the first iron battlesuit in human history and piloted it into the Sun. There, he fought a bloody battle for several centuries before finally succeeding in killing the infant Celestial that was attempting to leave the Sun and destroy Earth.
This is an extremely secret chapter in human history. With the division of the Brotherhood of the Shield into two, S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.P.E.A.R. also lost the Brotherhood's legacy.
Humble species like humans forget the past because their lifespans are short and their lives are fragile. They can only rely on passing things down through generations to preserve them, a process where the slightest mistake can lead to an incomplete legacy or even a chasm in their history.
But for those Level-Eight deities, even if the Multiverse is repeatedly rebooted, beings of their level remain unaffected, unless they are forcibly killed by an enemy.
The Top Ten Celestials are like this; they know everything that happened a mere thousand-plus years ago with perfect clarity.
And they feel deeply disgraced by it.
One of the magnificent Top Ten Celestials was slept with by one of their toy-like creations and even had a child with them. It was simply the shame of the Celestials.
What's even more shameful is that Goddess not only feels no shame about this matter but instead maintains a silence and suppression that infuriates the other Celestials even more.
The other nine Celestials know that Goddess doesn't hate herself for doing something so disgraceful; she hates the Earthlings for killing her child.
"Goddess, if we clash with the New God this time, you should not go. I am very concerned about your condition."
A Celestial, six thousand meters tall and blood-red like magma, spoke in a cold voice.
"My affairs are none of your concern," Goddess said indifferently.
The Destroyer Celestial snorted coldly. "I couldn't care less about your damn business. Compared to that, I'm more worried you'll become a bomb during our battle with the New God!"
Goddess maintained her standoffish demeanor.
Devron the Experimenter, clad in blue with a single large light on the front of his head, said in a low voice, "I agree with the Destroyer's opinion. If a war truly breaks out, the eight of us will be enough."
"Risking war with the One-Above-All, and the Grand Judge doesn't plan to participate? Is he going to be like last time, during the extermination of the Aspirants, only striking once at the final moment? If the Grand Judge had been willing to act back then, so many of our Celestials wouldn't have died! 1,265 official Celestials, aside from us few, were repeatedly purged several times by the Aspirants!"
Eson the Searcher, emitting an orange glow, his armor adorned with ancient patterns, roared, "This war with the One-Above-All is destined to be a protracted one, and it's very likely a few of us will die. Does the Grand Judge intend to just watch from the sidelines the whole time?! If he would just make a move, no matter how strong the New God is..."
"Enough, Searcher! What the Grand Judge decides to do is not for us to question!" Tiamut the Dreaming Celestial rebuked in a low voice, his powerful presence forcefully silencing all dissent.
The Sleeping Celestial, the strongest Celestial revealed by the Celestials, possesses the combat power to easily crush Eternity.
But as for this 'strongest,' whether he is truly the strongest or just the strongest on the surface, honestly, not even they themselves know.
Because no one has ever seen the Grand Judge go all out. Not ever. Even during the arduous campaign to exterminate the Aspirants, the Grand Judge only appeared at the final moment to crush their numerous God-killers before withdrawing.
Outsiders suspect that the Grand Judge was also severely injured that time—after all, he single-handedly destroyed so many powerful God-killers. But this is mere speculation. In truth, not even the other nine of the Top Ten Celestials know the specifics.
Perhaps the Sleeping Celestial knows a little more, but he keeps his mouth shut.
The yellow Gammenon the Gatherer, carrying a pineapple-shaped, long-handled hammer, silently watched his comrades argue, seeming rather uninterested. He has no interest in war, only in collecting various life samples.
Jemiah the Analyzer, who was emitting a green light all over like a Green Lantern, spoke with a mechanical, cold divine voice: "Whether or not to go to war has not yet been decided..."
The Destroyer Celestial sneered, "Even though he ignored our existence and forcibly controlled and augmented OAA? Even though he holds a unique divine artifact that perfectly counters us? If we don't find a way to kill the New God, or rather, seize that unique divine artifact, the position of the Celestials will be forever threatened!"
"We are the programmers, responsible for maintaining the balance of the Multiverse and patching its loopholes, but that Allspark has already become the biggest loophole!"
"Compared to the New God himself, the Allspark is my true target. We either seize it and study it thoroughly, or we destroy it outright!"
The Destroyer Celestial radiated a piercing killing intent, the red light on his body flickering like roiling magma.
