Chapter 817: The Terrifying Omega
All ten Celestials had encountered powerful opponents. Even Parallax Hal, who seemed to have the lowest power level, could not be taken down by any Celestial in a short amount of time.
And this was with only two Lantern Entities deployed. The other five were waiting silently on Cybertron.
A fierce battle erupted. Terrifying energy shockwaves poured out, forcefully destroying one ancient planet after another and turning them into cosmic dust.
In a distant, unknown galaxy, a short, blue-skinned figure wretchedly dodged the blast from a planetary explosion. He hurriedly moved farther away, watching in shock at the tragic scene, which was like the end of the world, the very collapse of the universe.
"Lantern Entities... This is power that belongs to me, Krona..."
This scarred Guardian looked greedily toward the battlefield. The emotional fluctuations of The Butcher and Parallax were clearly transmitted to him, arousing even greater greed within him.
"Seven Lantern Entities, all mine. The Emotional Spectrum is mine too..." Krona watched with a sinister gaze for a moment before carefully going into hiding.
...
In just a few seconds, ten Celestials had been intercepted by the powerhouses of Cybertron and were locked in a fierce battle. Only two Celestials remained, their gazes heavy as they looked at the four mutated beings blocking their path.
These four were also their test subjects, their evaluation targets second in value only to Tony.
Wanda, Jean, Bobby, and Elizabeth.
A giant phantom of a phoenix emerged from behind Jean, its fiery red flames forming the phoenix emblem. This phoenix spread its wings imperiously, with sparks of flame drifting up one by one. Amidst the predominant red hue, a gentle white light emanated.
"I'll take one of them. It's a perfect chance to see if I, the White Phoenix, can kill a full member of the Celestials."
White Phoenix Jean spread her arms, her dark red hair dancing as if imbued with the rhythm of life. The Phoenix Force, having transcended the Dark Phoenix stage to undergo further ascension, was unleashed at full power for the first time to confront a member of the Celestials.
The phantom of the Phoenix grew more solid as Jean lunged toward a massive Celestial. The terrifying Phoenix Force formed a phoenix projection much larger than the Celestial itself, and its power to warp reality at will continuously erased the Celestial's very existence.
"So this is the White Phoenix... According to Tony, above the White Phoenix is the level of the White Phoenix of the Crown." Wanda watched Jean with an envious expression, not for her immense power, but for her skillful control over it.
The uncontrollable Level 5 Dark Phoenix, the controllable Level 7 White Phoenix, and the controllable Level 8 White Phoenix of the Crown—this was Jean's progression path. The White Phoenix was the stage she reached after breaking free from the shackles of the Dark Phoenix persona and devouring more Phoenix Fragments.
This Celestial was instantly thrown into a bitter struggle. The appearance of the Phoenix Force horrified it, and the Phoenix's powerful reality-warping abilities forced the Celestial to act with extreme caution, resisting with all its might.
Omega Mutant Jean. Her immense power after her transformation was displayed before the world for the first time. Phantoms of the Phoenix shook the entire Prime Universe, and the sight even made the ancient Celestials' scalps tingle with fear.
"When did the Phoenix Force become so docile...? What a terrifying Mutant," the Celestial muttered under its breath.
Elizabeth had a cold expression. Her full, curvaceous figure was clad in a purple bodysuit. Holding two sharp blades, she said coldly, "There's one more Celestial. Who's taking it?"
Boom!
The reality-altering Chaos Power began to vibrate slowly. At some point, the pupils in Wanda's eyes had turned red, and rays of red magical light, like ripples on the ocean, leaped from her hands.
"I'll do it. My Chaos Magic tells me it won't be difficult to kill this Celestial," said Wanda.
The last remaining Celestial felt a chill run down its spine. "The Chaos Power has appeared as well... In a mere twenty or thirty years, how on earth did the New Gods gather all these monsters? If you add the Goblin Force to the mix, all three top-tier powers of the Multiverse have been assembled."
The Goblin Force was a power that grew rapidly by devouring the energy output of the Phoenix Force and Chaos Power. Theoretically, as long as there was enough Phoenix Force and Chaos Power to provide sustenance, the wielder of the Goblin Force could become infinitely powerful.
Bobby frowned, slightly worried about Wanda's power going out of control. He interrupted her, "No, let me. Your power is immense, perfect for supporting the main battlefield. I'll deal with this Celestial."
Before Wanda could even open her mouth, Bobby's entire body had iced over in an instant, transforming from a being of flesh and blood into an ice sculpture-like figure with softened features. As he raised his hands, a terrifying cold erupted, freezing all microscopic particles in its path.
A region of absolute zero spread out in an instant. Everything enveloped by the cold air Bobby released was frozen solid.
What was even more terrifying was that Bobby's ability was to generate cold infinitely. He didn't need to abide by some nonsense law of conservation of energy. As long as he was alive and had the stamina, he could create as much cold as he wanted.
Theoretically, Bobby could freeze the entire Multiverse, freezing all constants and parameters, turning the vast Multiverse into a giant ice rink where anyone who entered would die.
Compared to Wanda and Jean, two mutants who were invincible thanks to external forces, Iceman was the true definition of an "Omega-level mutant." His power was controllable from birth and grew as he did—a vast, intrinsic force that made him eternal and immortal.
In fact, not counting that freak Franklin, who was Beyond-Omega Level, Iceman was the most ideal and perfect mutant among the five great Omega-level mutants, having maximized the two attributes of infinite potential and immortality.
Iceman was having a blast. He madly blasted his enemy with cold, unreasonably freezing everything. This included the opposing Celestial's reality-modifying "Programmer Authority" and the tsunami of energy particles pouring from its body—all of it was frozen solid.
The last Celestial was so frustrated it wanted to vomit blood. It was truly going insane. Just how in the world did the New Gods manage to gather these monsters?!
Or rather, why were there so many monsters among their own test subjects! And then all of them were gathered by Tony! The most terrifying part was that they, the Celestials, had absolutely no understanding of these monsters' abilities!
"Only that Jean Grey is in our database; there's no information on the other three at all..." The Celestials were on the verge of going mad.
Of the four Omega mutants, they, the Celestials who had conquered countless universes, had records of only Jean...
Needless to say, in the entire Multiverse, the Wanda from the Prime Universe was the only one to have received an infusion of power from the Elder God Chthon. The Wandas of other universes merely possessed some decent magic.
As for Iceman Bobby, because his power grew steadily and was controllable, he had always been quiet and frighteningly low-key. As a result, in many universes, Bobby's potential was never tapped, and no one ever discovered it. This led to his power growth often failing to keep up with the pace of his aging and death, not to mention all the various natural and man-made disasters...
As for Elizabeth... she was only a quasi-Omega-level and could die easily. It was Tony who found her and used the power of the Allspark to help her forcibly break through her potential's upper limit, allowing her to barely ascend to Omega-level. Therefore, Elizabeth was the most "watered-down" of the five great Omega mutants—the most watered-down compared to the other four, but no matter how lackluster, she was still an Omega.
