Chapter 786: VS Nekron
A single point of light could trigger a cataclysmic wave.
Galactus and Ego were struck by the point of light in succession. A power sufficient to annihilate a galaxy erupted, clashing violently with the power of death.
The point of light's range suddenly expanded, creating an indescribable, immense pressure. No one doubted that if it wasn't stopped, the destruction of the Milky Way Galaxy would be instantaneous.
But in the very next moment, the orb of light contracted abruptly, rapidly compressing the darkness within.
The Black Lantern Rings seemed to have encountered a powerful threat, their black light intensifying to the extreme, but they were, after all, just small rings.
The bodies of Galactus and Ego were slowly dissipating.
"No! Spare me! I didn't do this!" In his final moments, Ego roared with grief and indignation.
A deafening boom erupted. The entire Cybertron galaxy shook violently as if it were the end of the world, but it quickly subsided.
Galactus and Ego had completely dissipated, along with the Black Lantern Rings that bound them, all buried within the point of light.
"Interesting..."
Tony watched this scene thoughtfully. He was just testing it out, but he hadn't expected the effect to be so good, just as he'd predicted.
Countless gazes turned toward him, filled with astonishment and awe.
Duzun shot Tony a sideways glance. For some reason, his face instantly darkened with deep despair. "He's gotten stronger. It's over. My shame can never be washed away..."
In his mind, two little figures started fighting again, making Duzun's head buzz.
Dormammu also muttered something under his breath.
Tony ignored them. With a blank expression, he fearlessly charged into the horde of hundreds of billions of Black Lanterns.
Countless Black Lanterns shrieked and lunged at him. Amidst the frequent shockwaves, large numbers of Black Lanterns were constantly blasted away by his immense power and subsequently annihilated. The Black Lantern Rings became incredibly fragile in that moment, unable to withstand a single blow and easily destroyed.
Tony alone faced the dense army of Black Lanterns. His immense power surged, and with every move, he effortlessly wiped out Black Lanterns across hundreds of thousands of miles, creating vast no-man's-lands with a mere wave of his hand.
A wide-open space was blasted clear by Tony with a single hand. He was an existence more terrifying than Death itself. Wherever he went, he carved out a vast expanse of space-time, and the Black Lanterns vanished in droves.
It was a stunning scene: one man sweeping through an entire legion. A long, straight, and wide path had been personally blasted open by Tony.
Finally, the Black Lantern Rings retreated. They controlled the Black Lanterns, making them pull back swiftly to stand in the distance, staring blankly at Tony.
"Everyone, continue to defend the Cybertron galaxy until the Blackest Night is over."
Tony's calm voice echoed in everyone's ears. By the time they roared their assent, Tony had already vanished from his spot.
"So strong... frighteningly strong..."
"He's become even more terrifying."
"Is he going to seek out the source of the darkness for a final battle?"
The Ancient One stood there quietly and suddenly said, "He is about to succeed."
Raven looked at him with surprise, but the Ancient One didn't explain. He too was just guessing. The oppressive feeling Tony gave him was immense; if it wasn't obvious before, he could feel it clearly now.
"I hope everything goes smoothly. I really don't want to turn into one of those disgusting things. I'd go crazy," Raven grumbled.
The great war erupted once more. The endless fighting had already exhausted some, but facing the relentless army of Black Lanterns—undying even in death—they could only brace themselves and continue to fight.
...
Sector 666, the Death Planet.
If the Black Lantern Rings on Earth were spat out by the Scarred Guardian, then the Black Lantern Rings elsewhere in the Main Universe originally flew out from the Death Planet.
It seemed to be related to the massacre in Sector 666 years ago, which resulted in a scarcity of life and a dense concentration of death energy, a combination Nekron was very fond of.
A tall, blurry figure was watching Tony's arrival with cold indifference. A scythe appeared in its hand, the tip aimed at Tony.
The skin-and-bones skull slowly lifted. Nekron stared at him with a chilling gaze.
"You have a lot of nerve. You're seeking death."
Nekron's voice was ice-cold.
"I didn't originally plan to look for you now. In your current state, you're just an immobile corpse. There's no point in killing you."
Tony tore through the darkness and returned to this place, once again facing Nekron.
The last time he faced Nekron, it was before Nekron had awakened. In a hazy state, it had tried to capture Tony to fill the Black Lantern Power Battery, but Tony had forcefully broken free, forcing it to grab Hela to make do.
Nekron was expressionless. On its desiccated face, two eerie points of light shone brightly in its conspicuous eyes, standing out starkly in this world of darkness.
Suddenly, Tony said out of the blue, "You are going to die."
Before Nekron could speak, Tony added, "You will be killed by your enemy again. Believe me, even if this time your enemy is a severely weakened Life Entity."
If the White Light of Creation was still at its full power, Nekron probably wouldn't have dared to rush out for revenge so hastily and would have remained dormant for a longer time.
Nekron craved revenge. He was convinced he could defeat the Life Entity and thoroughly purge the Multiverse.
"How do you know..."
A slight fluctuation appeared in Nekron's pupils, which was an exceedingly rare occurrence. He looked at Tony.
"In my understanding, someone of your lowly birth could not possibly have learned the secrets of that epoch... Even many Singular Gods are unaware of such hidden matters."
This was a humiliation etched into Nekron's very being!
He, the ruler of darkness, had been toppled by a streak of white light that came out of nowhere!
Not only was he personally defeated, but the world and the system he had painstakingly maintained were completely overthrown by the white light in one fell swoop!
It was a tremendous disgrace!
"You want to know?" Tony smiled arrogantly.
Nekron's eyes flickered, and he nodded.
"Why should I tell you?" Tony sneered.
"Then die."
Nekron decisively swung his scythe, hacking viciously at Tony. The motion was casual, no different from squashing an ant.
In fact, in his eyes, Tony was just an ant. Even though Tony was a Singular God, it didn't change his fundamental nature as an ant.
He had seen, interacted with, and personally killed too many powerful beings. To Nekron, a newly born Singular God like Tony was absolutely nothing, no different from anyone else.
Oh, perhaps the only significant difference was that Tony was more suitable for filling the Power Battery. A pity the guy ran away last time.
Tony's gaze hardened. He shot forward like a bolt of lightning. Three Mother Boxes instantly appeared in his hands, which he used as a shield.
One Mother Box directly blocked Nekron's scythe. A piercing roar sounded as the Mother Box began to make cracking noises, and a dazzling white light emerged from it.
Using a single Mother Box to block Nekron's attack was extremely difficult.
