Chapter 775

Chapter 759: The Seven Lantern Corps!

In the pitch-black universe, several small, shadowy figures hovered in the outer space of a planet, coldly watching the departing Starscream and Larfleeze.

"The Orange Lantern Ring ended up in Cybertron's hands after all. I originally thought Loki was the most likely person to get the ring."

"Quite the contrary. It was the smartest move for Loki to give up this ring. Wherever Cybertron gets involved, it always means something unusual is going on... Loki has saved Asgard."

"So what do we do? Intercept the Orange Lantern Ring?"

"No. We are powerless against Cybertron."

A group of Guardians watched coldly from the sidelines as the figures of Starscream and Larfleeze disappeared into the distance. After a long silence, they began to speak in low voices.

This group of Guardians had been tracking the Orange Lantern Ring, but Starscream had acted faster than them.

"We should also gather our warriors. Cybertron already possesses three types of rings, and with the Green Lantern Ring in Optimus Prime's hands, we have absolutely no advantage."

"The outbreak of the Spectrum War is now inevitable. Darkness will devour everything."

"I propose creating more Supreme Green Lanterns and reviving more Manhunters. In Sector 666, a large number of Manhunters are still dormant..."

"I object!"

Ganthet said angrily, "The First Army was a complete failure! We cannot walk down that failed path again! Do you want to cause another massacre? Do you really want to ruin our reputation?!"

Sayd said coldly, "The Supreme Green Lanterns cannot shoulder the responsibility, and the Manhunters are unreliable. This method won't work. We might as well release Sinestro and seek his cooperation."

The other Guardians looked at the two of them indifferently. After a long pause, one of them said impassively, "Ganthet, Sayd, you are expelled."

"What?!"

"What nonsense are you talking about!"

That Guardian said impassively, "The two of you are no longer our kind. The power of emotion is reawakening within you. Did you really think no one noticed? We've known something was wrong with you for a long time."

"Ganthet, Sayd, you are expelled."

"From now on, you are no longer members of Oa, no longer members of the Guardians of the Universe."

"The fate of the Controllers will be your fate."

The other five Guardians spoke one after another, showing no affinity for their own kind whom they had spent ten billion years with. For beings like them, who had long chosen to abandon their emotions, self-interest was paramount.

As long as the price was right, they would even sell out their own fathers.

Ganthet and Sayd's faces were grim. They exchanged a look, remained silent for a moment, then turned and left.

Following the First Lantern Volthoom incident and the complete annihilation of the Controllers, the Maltusians split once again.

The Guardians, and Ganthet and Sayd.

Two figures flew off into the deep universe.

There were no warm words of parting, not a shred of friendship to be spoken of.

The five Guardians just watched them depart with cold indifference.

In the vast universe, the two tiny figures gradually flew far into the distance.

Ganthet's face was ashen, and he didn't say a word.

Sayd waited for a while before she couldn't help but ask, "We could secretly return to Oa..."

"No, Sayd, we cannot do that. Oa can no longer afford internal conflict."

Ganthet shook his head, his world-weary gaze no longer needing to be concealed, revealing a hint of fatigue that only emotional beings could possess.

Ganthet said, "A great war is about to erupt. We must have a Legion of our own! I have been waiting for this day, to be free from the constraints of being a Guardian, to be able to forge a unique Lantern Corps!"

"So?"

"The Blue Lantern of Hope! I have already mastered the method to create the Blue Lantern Ring!"

The Blue Lantern of Hope, the most powerful support ring among the Seven Lanterns. It can soothe the heart of greed, calm the fire of rage, inspire the soul of fear, and fuel the heart of willpower.

Listening to Ganthet's words, Sayd fell into a long silence.

Ganthet continued, "When Abin Sur was still alive, he was also acting in secret, preparing something specifically for Guardians like you and me. It's obvious Su didn't trust us either. No one trusts us now. We can only rely on ourselves."

"I understand..." Sayd sighed.

Everything was fine, and then suddenly it all went to hell.

...

In a distant, unknown star sector, an uninvited guest suddenly arrived on a peaceful and silent planet.

The interwoven green and yellow light on his finger illuminated his massive and resolute body. Optimus Prime had crossed a vast distance, finally arriving here by following the clue Abin Sur had left for him.

A tall female life form walked out with a peaceful and compassionate expression to welcome Optimus Prime's arrival.

"I have been waiting. Su said he would come find me one day, but in the end, I only waited for you."

Indigo-1 shook her head slightly, emanating an emotional wave of universal compassion that inexplicably made Optimus Prime's heart become incredibly peaceful.

Optimus Prime looked down at the people wearing indigo energy battle suits and said in a low voice, "It seems you are disappointed."

Indigo-1 nodded. "A little, yes. We originally didn't want to get involved in trouble, but from the moment you arrived, trouble has already come knocking."

"The situation will force you to face it. Su established the Indigo Tribe not to create a paradise for criminals like you, but to resolve a crisis sweeping across the entire Universe," said Optimus Prime.

Indigo-1 made a welcoming gesture, inviting Optimus Prime to follow her.

These life forms wearing the Indigo Lantern Rings showed not a trace of malice or hostility. Their entire beings exuded tolerance and compassion, and their gentle eyes looked upon everything with immense pity.

The compassionate Indigo Lantern, among the Seven Lanterns, had the most overbearing and unreasonable effect, capable of turning every user into a sage who was detached, uncontending, and above worldly matters.

The Indigo Lantern was also known as the Pyramid Scheme Ring—though this description is somewhat disrespectful, its brainwashing capabilities were simply insane.

Every member of the Indigo Tribe had originally been a vicious criminal captured by Su, but after putting on the Indigo Lantern Rings, they had all become sages filled with compassion.

By the same token, the Indigo Tribe was also the weakest corps in terms of combat power, bar none. You simply couldn't discuss concepts like combat, might, or slaughter with a group of people who viewed everything with tolerance and concession.

Optimus Prime walked into the Indigo Tribe's domain expressionlessly. The universal compassion revealed in the eyes of those ferocious-looking creatures made even someone as powerful as Optimus Prime feel a chill run down his spine. His vigilance soared, and he subconsciously began to rub the Green and Yellow Lantern Rings on his finger.

This unreasonable power of compassion... could he wield it perfectly while still retaining his own self?
