Chapter 725

Chapter 709: It's Time for Your Reckoning

Tyrant kept his distance, never daring to approach from start to finish.

"Galactus is dead. Do you want to follow me?" Tony waved at him.

Tyrant said in a deep voice, "I refuse. Compared to following you, I yearn for freedom more. I've fought for Galactus for too long, so long that I've forgotten the taste of freedom..."

"Suit yourself. However, I'm taking this Phoenix Egg. Someone needs this."

Tony shook his head, one hand cradling the Phoenix Egg, and stepped towards the depths of the Universe.

Tyrant remained in place, subconsciously hoisting his axe onto his shoulder. He glanced at his heavily damaged spaceship, paused in silence, and then departed in another direction.

He had been a servant for too many years; it was time for him to be a master.

...

Tony returned to Cybertron with the Phoenix Egg. As soon as he stepped out of the Portal, the light construct in his hand immediately began to stir restlessly, as if some power was trying to pull it away.

Jean, who was sleeping, suddenly opened her eyes. Her eyes, so dark they were terrifying, stared blankly upwards. Immense power suddenly began its awakening, and golden-yellow flames started to surge from Jean's body.

"Jean!"

Cyclops immediately stood up, looking at his beloved with concern.

"Jean!"

Wolverine also immediately stood up, looking at his beloved with concern.

Subtly, a heat even more intense than the Phoenix Force erupted from the eyes of the two men as they glared at each other, as if eager to incinerate one another.

Jean floated up, her eyelids twitching wildly until the whites of her eyes were completely consumed by black. A power distinct from Jean's own began to emanate, an ultimate coldness and a tyranny suppressed to its very limits.

"I feel my own aura... someone has brought fragments of my essence."

Jean, or rather, the Dark Phoenix controlled by the Alternate Personality, unleashed incredibly powerful Phoenix Energy without restraint. Her pitch-black eyes glared forward, and a chilling smile curled at the corners of her lips.

"Jean! Control yourself, remember who you are...!"

Professor X's telepathy was violently interrupted by the Dark Phoenix, who was equally adept at psychic abilities. Professor X's eyes immediately began to bleed, and he was gravely wounded by the Dark Phoenix in an instant.

"I can feel it, once I piece together that fragment, I'll be complete!" Jean bared her teeth, her long hair tugged by an unseen power, constantly floating and swaying gently.

*Rip!*

With a slight wave of her hand, the Dark Phoenix swept the entire skyscraper with an unseen power. It immediately split in two, tearing open right down the middle. Large amounts of damaged architectural debris rained down, causing countless people to look up in shock.

Magneto, who had rushed over, immediately controlled the magnetic field, manipulating the steel skyscraper to collapse at a gentler speed and gently setting it down in an open space.

"Jean! Control your power!" Magneto roared.

Numerous warriors rushed in from other areas, and several demigod powerhouses also immediately converged on the location, cautiously observing the Corrupted Jean, ready to act at any moment.

Currently, Jean seemed to have lost control over the Phoenix Force, completely suppressed by the Alternate Personality.

The terrifying aspect of the Dark Phoenix was not her combat power, but her ruthless and cold-blooded nature, recognizing no kin. She could mercilessly kill those closest to her, yet others were afraid to harm her, and thus dared not suppress her with their full might.

*Boom!*

Wolverine, tough-skinned and robust, was blasted away by immense force, his flesh and blood torn to shreds, revealing his inner Adamantium skeleton. Even Wolverine's formidable healing factor paled in comparison before the agitated Dark Phoenix.

If it continued for a bit longer, even Wolverine's Adamantium skeleton would begin to sustain damage, and then Wolverine would truly die.

Cyclops hid behind a ruined wall, pressing his hand to his temple. He hesitated for a moment but ultimately did not unleash his optic blasts.

"Give me back my essence fragments!!"

The Dark Phoenix roared ferociously, her grim voice echoing across Cybertron's skies. Fiery phantoms streaked through the air as the Dark Phoenix herself plunged further into the extreme Abyss, a portion of her Host Personality once again stripped away.

"Your body... fragments? You misunderstand the Phoenix Force." Tony, cradling a restless light construct, quietly appeared before the Dark Phoenix.

The Dark Phoenix's pitch-black eyes fixed on the light construct in Tony's hand. "This power belongs to me. I can feel it; as long as I absorb this cluster of power, I will become more complete."

"You've never been complete. What will become complete is the Phoenix Force, not you, a mere psionic entity derived from the Phoenix Force."

Tony opened his palm towards the Dark Phoenix. The light construct trembled, and just as it was about to slip from Tony's control, his hand suddenly closed, firmly gripping the light construct.

A terrifying ripple of energy nearly burst forth but was also suppressed by Tony.

"I am the Phoenix!" The Dark Phoenix's expression was twisted, her hair disheveled and wild, covering half her face. Combined with the freely burning energy flames, it made her appear like a madwoman.

Tony smirked disdainfully. One hand tightened around the Phoenix Egg, while his free hand directly slammed a powerful punch into the Dark Phoenix.

*Bang!*

The atmosphere was compressed by immense power originating from the ground, creating a visible indentation. Frenzied, accumulating power was rapidly building up, just waiting for the moment it would explode.

The power Tony unleashed with a single punch, purely physical power, far exceeded the destructive force of Earth's nuclear bombs.

"Give it to me!!" the Dark Phoenix snarled ferociously. Terrifying telekinesis transformed into an invisible giant hand, pulling at all matter and energy in reality.

Tony's response was another punch, violently blasting her away.

Flames fluttered, only to be immediately extinguished as they landed in Tony's hand. Traces of Phoenix energy quietly flowed through the air.

"If it weren't for Jean, a deformed creation like you would have been dead by my hand long ago, and certainly wouldn't be alive now."

Tony grabbed the Dark Phoenix by her hair, lifting her up like a chicken. "The one you should thank most is the Host Personality you hate, otherwise your fate would be truly miserable."

The Dark Phoenix shrieked, "If you hadn't relentlessly suppressed me since I was a child, I wouldn't have been born! I am the Phoenix, an Avatar of the Phoenix Will!"

Tony said indifferently, "You're really overthinking things. With your specifications, you're not even close to being on par with the Phoenix Force."

As the Dark Phoenix shrieked loudly, a golden-yellow fiery Phoenix rose, letting out a clear cry.

Tony's expression remained unchanged. He shattered the Phoenix Projection right in front of the Dark Phoenix, and a massive amount of Phoenix Energy began to expand and explode like an avalanche. A group of demigods immediately rushed forward with serious expressions, blocking the terrifying waves of energy.

"It's time for your reckoning..." Tony murmured, tilting the Dark Phoenix's face so her eyes met his. Both their figures appeared in each other's gaze, clearly revealing their killing intent.
