Chapter 700

Chapter 684: Surprise Attack
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

The Thirteen Primes, Max, Illyana, Raven, and sixteen other Demigods launched a group attack on the Annihilation Insectoids' main base in the Prime Universe.

They didn't dare attack the Negative Zone; Annihilus was inside. That was a formidable opponent capable of defeating Galactus; these Demigods would simply be offering themselves up if they charged in.

"Max, you'll make the first move. Your abilities are perfectly suited for large-scale destruction, and even if you encounter a crisis, you can easily retreat. The others will follow behind me, awaiting my command," Prima Prime said calmly to his comrades, looking as pure white as the moon.

"I object! I should make the first move. My divine artifact has long yearned to devour the souls of these reptiles; it desperately needs nourishment!" declared Liege Maximo, who was as dark as a nightmare and born as the dark counterpart to Prima Prime, the Light. He was blunt and made no attempt to hide his thoughts.

To be honest, Liege Maximo was also a cunning individual, but he would never resort to schemes against his old comrades and warriors. Liege Maximo disdained to use such trivial things.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The Soul Suppressor was in Liege Maximo's hand, emanating a brutal, bloodthirsty aura. It glowed with an eerie red light, or perhaps it was just a trick of the mind. This spear could absorb blood and souls.

This was the first divine artifact crafted after "the second most intelligent" Sai Tianjiao created the Hammer of the Primes. At Liege Maximo's request, Sai Tianjiao forged it into a powerful Corrupted Weapon.

A weapon born for slaughter.

Perfectly suited to Liege Maximo's tastes and temperament.

"I don't like the aura this weapon emits," Alpha Trion said, tugging at his cape and narrowing his eyes.

Alpha Trion also possessed a divine artifact crafted by Sai Tianjiao using the Hammer of the Primes. It was a pen imbued with a philosophical aura, said to possess prophecy abilities and record knowledge of the world's past and future – Liege Maximo always thought it was utter nonsense.

In reality, everyone thought the pen wasn't that miraculous, and Alpha Trion was just spouting nonsense.

Alpha Trion didn't retort, cheerfully holding the pen and cherishing it.

"It's decided then, Max. You will attack that base," Prima Prime said, his tone firm.

Max nodded silently. This electrical engineer from Earth had long since broken through the mortal barrier today, becoming a powerful Demigod. He was not only electricity, but also a magnetic field.

Liege Maximo mumbled a few words, but didn't get angry. He stroked the Soul Suppressor, preparing to go on a rampage.

Max instantly vanished from his spot, countless tiny particles drifting in the air. He was practically an energy being, and spatial travel was too easy for him.

The others lurked quietly, waiting for things to kick off.

Zap! Sizzle! Boom! Boom, boom, boom!!!

Dazzling blue electric light shot straight into the sky. The entire planet fell into a momentary dead silence as the heavens and earth were dyed a vast blue, the color of countless wailing lost souls.

Countless bugs were blown sky-high before they could even grasp what was happening, their small, mung-bean-like eyes exchanging bewildered glances with equally confused bugs around them in their final seconds of life, before falling into complete silence.

"Move!" Prima Prime growled, a hint of ruthlessness flashing across his face. He drew a shimmering greatsword, made as if from crystal, and with a leap, descended from high above like a deity, shining with a pure luster like the bright moon.

"A big guy, so flashy," Liege Maximo muttered.

Liege Maximo's face twitched, and he seemed to shiver. His powerful, perfected chassis emitted metallic sounds due to this sudden, unusual action.

The Soul Suppressor was raised high. Liege Maximo, like a black Demon God, roared as he charged into the insect swarm, fanatically wielding his weapon and wantonly reaping enemy lives. Wherever the Soul Suppressor lightly cut through, space itself was distorted and twisted.

Raven and Illyana exchanged glances. These two women, masters of magic, stepped forward together, unleashing a torrent of powerful magic with every gesture, inflicting wide-ranging destruction upon the insect swarm.

But they were soon met with powerful resistance from a formidable foe.

"You damned two-legged beasts, pah! You only know how to mess with these petty tricks!"

A bug, exuding a powerful aura, boastfully raised his pincers, "I, Lord Klymodor, will send you to meet Annihilus!"

"We've even captured Galactus, and you think we can't deal with a few of you?"

Klymodor brandished his tentacles, radiating a ferocious aura, and led the numerous powerful bugs behind him in a fierce charge toward the attacking Cybertronian powerhouses.

Intense battle erupted. This was a battle between many Demigods, and the Cybertronian side had a numerical advantage.

Demigods who were freed up, such as Max, immediately went on a frantic slaughter of the mid and low-tier insect swarms, focused on destroying the insectoids' base. High-end sophisticated equipment was systematically annihilated, driving the bugs mad with rage.

Don't think that the insectoids were merely mindless bugs who only knew how to rely on numbers. They also possessed advanced technology. The device used to imprison Galactus and extract cosmic energy from him was a powerful technological construct of the Annihilation Insectoids.

The formidable nature of a technological device capable of imprisoning a level seven powerhouse and extracting its core power was self-evident.

"You despicable creatures, after all these years in the Negative Zone, you only have Galactus to brag about, nothing else!" Liege Maximo laughed wildly, wielding the Soul Suppressor like a hammer, fiercely smashing Klymodor and blasting him into the underground.

Under the fierce assault of the Demigods, this base quickly fell. Billions of troops were massacred and purged, bug corpses littered the entire planet, and countless insectoid powerhouses were also blasted into dust.

The terror of the Annihilation Insectoids lay in their sheer scale; their numbers were sufficient to overwhelm countless civilizations. However, the higher the tier of combat power, the more the Annihilation Insectoids lacked. At the peak level seven tier, only Annihilus was truly impressive, and Demigod-level individuals were not common. Scattered across the vast Sector 2814, they became even scarcer.

The entire rear base was wiped out completely.

Klymodor's mung-bean-like eyes turned even greener, a sign of his fury. Remembering the scene of Annihilus's fury, a trace of terror and unease flickered in his eyes.

Bang! Klymodor was relentlessly hunted by Liege Maximo. The power of the divine artifact, Soul Suppressor, was skillfully wielded by Liege Maximo, treating Klymodor entirely as a test subject.

Soon, once the other Demigods were free, Klymodor was also killed.

"Clean this place up, and retreat immediately!" Prima Prime said decisively.

"Retreat? Where do you intend to retreat to?" A voice laced with bone-chilling coldness suddenly rang out. Annihilus, who had rushed here in a hurry, his icy gaze sweeping over the ravaged land, had emerged from the Negative Zone only to face such a dismal situation.

The humanoid form bug, cloaked in a cape, had finally walked out of the Negative Zone.
