Chapter 698

Chapter 682: Collision

October 19, 2022 Author: Great Demon Spirit

The Green Lantern Corps assembled its forces and finally arrived at Sector 2814.

Nearly four thousand green lights traversed the vast cosmos, flying towards the Sector that was already ravaged by war. This was where the Annihilation Wave was most rampant, with only a very few places managing to maintain stability and peace.

Of course, this stability and peace were built upon even greater military might; without formidable strength, one could only wait for death.

The Annihilation Wave had no mercy, only endless slaughter and destruction.

The Green Lantern Corps assembled, like a sharp, long sword, fiercely stabbing into the Annihilation Wave's legion. After piercing through, they withdrew.

Optimus Prime never intended to fight alone from the start. With just this many people in the Green Lantern Corps, they would scatter with just one big wave.

The combat power of each Lantern also varied. The strong possessed the combat power of a Demigod, while the weak, at most, were at Level Three. This depended on the strength of their willpower; if they panicked even a little, and their minds went blank, it would be over.

"The Green Lantern Corps must cooperate with legions of other races in combat."

Optimus Prime issued a command to every Lantern: "I have applied to the Guardians for authorization to lift the ban on using Lethal Force. What you need to do is kill, kill every single bug you see!"

The Green Lantern Corps has always had a "no-kill" injunction. No matter how heinous the criminals they faced, they were forbidden to kill. This often led to such a situation: powerful criminals would be defeated after slaughtering many Lanterns, but the surviving Lanterns couldn't kill them to avenge their comrades.

This put the Green Lantern Corps in a very disadvantageous position from the start. They often faced powerful enemies who ravaged entire planets and galaxies, yet they severely lacked Lethal Force.

On one hand, the Guardians didn't want the Green Lantern Corps to get out of control and repeat the tragedy of the First Army's bloody purge of Sector 666. On the other hand, the Guardians were also worried about Lanterns turning on them. And finally, the most important reason: after all, the so-called Lanterns were merely consumables...

With a Lantern Ring in hand, countless Lanterns could be created. The Guardians didn't care at all about people dying frequently.

If one died, they could always pick a new Lantern from the billions of lives across the entire Universe.

The official participation of the Green Lantern Corps in the war undoubtedly created a ripple in the vast Sector 2814.

Although it helped the current situation, it was not overwhelming. On a battlefield of this Tier, no one dared to claim they could dominate everything, except for the missing Annihilus and the silently observing Tony.

Fierce battles were visible everywhere. The vast cosmos suddenly felt so small. Intense battles were constantly unfolding, and various skirmishes frequently erupted. Numerous planets turned into cosmic dust, becoming tiny lights in the night sky.

Forty million troops from Cybertron have successively entered the battlefield. These forty million soldiers included Transformers, Mutants, and Kryptonians, with Transformers being the main force.

The Thirteen Primes, along with many Demigods, have already joined the war. They clashed with the opposing Demigod-level bugs, frequently shattering planets and igniting suns with the energy aftermath of their fights, turning many star systems into dead zones.

Casualties were increasing, and more soldiers would enter the battlefield. Many warriors completed the transformation from rookies to powerhouses. Having witnessed countless blood and gore, they undoubtedly had a more promising future.

Bang!

A green robot, fully armed with Gatlings, was sweeping through the battlefield ferociously. Its absurdly large gun barrels sprayed green light, unleashing a barrage of green bullets and shells.

Optimus Prime materialized a hulking figure over thirty meters tall. Other Lanterns also used their imagination and willpower, clearing out the bugs ahead.

The legion formed by the Lanterns, as long as their will and imagination met the standards, had astonishing destructive power against the insect swarm within a certain period.

"Purge these ten million bugs, and we will immediately relocate to fight in the Large Magellanic Cloud," Optimus Prime issued the command.

Vast green light enveloped the battlefield. Optimus Prime, with his willpower, imagination, and computing power overwhelming the entire field, was undoubtedly the one with the fastest advance speed.

A Lantern momentarily failed to make a proper response. A swarm of bugs broke through to him. The dense shadows of bugs and various piercing screeches assaulted his sanity. In his panic, he created numerous walls to tightly surround himself.

Just like an ostrich encountering danger.

Boom!

Purple energy swept over, tearing these thousands of bugs to shreds. Megatron's mighty body descended from the sky. He grabbed the Lantern and roughly threw him behind him.

"Watch it, rookie! Never put your weapon away. That's just asking for death!" Megatron glared with blood-red eyes and exhaled visible cold air from his mouth.

On one of his finger bones was embedded a purple crystal, radiating powerful power.

The Space Bridge was open to its maximum extent. Large numbers of warriors from Cybertron arrived in this star system, engaging in battle with the Annihilation Wave who were about to destroy this place.

The greatsword swept horizontally, directly slicing hundreds of bugs to pieces. The purple radiance emanating from the greatsword stretched for thousands of meters, sweeping away countless bugs, leaving green liquid and bug corpses neatly laid out.

The scale of the war further escalated.

"Hey, big guy, thanks a lot. The Skrulls' forces are worse than I imagined!"

Star-Lord Qull, piloting his living warship, joined in to take advantage of the chaos, leading the Guardians of the Galaxy to weave through the battlefield, occasionally firing shells that blasted away large numbers of bugs.

It's quite amusing to say, his father was a planetary lifeform, and his ride was a living warship whose consciousness was hosted by a stellar lifeform.

"If the Skrulls truly had ability, they wouldn't have fought against mere Kree for a million years without a clear victor."

Megatron snorted coldly. He let go of the remnants of the Skrull forces, who were fleeing embarrassedly towards him. The greatsword in his hand transformed into a nightmare of slaughter, freely wielding the Grim Reaper's grin.

This kind of collaboration had long become commonplace. After all, multiple galaxies were plunged into unprecedented warfare. As long as they could kill bugs, they were considered allies.

Even the Skrulls and Kree, who were sworn enemies, were not uncommon to team up against the enemy, because they would at least accept each other's captives, but the Annihilation Wave would not...

"Megatron, we have to abandon this planet."

Optimus Prime was surrounded by the insect swarm. His body immediately shapeshifted into a truck. The trailer behind the truck emitted clanking sounds, and numerous weapons aimed at the encircling enemies, unleashing immense energy cannons.

But some Lanterns were helpless. Without a Lantern Ring, they were just ordinary people, and could easily be killed.

On a battlefield of this scale, the war was protracted. It was common for Lantern Rings to run out of energy, and if one didn't evade in time, they would be instantly devoured by the bugs.

"Hmph, I never intended to get entangled with these things anyway."

Megatron stomped a huge bug to death. He snorted coldly and said, "The Primes have gone to raid the bugs' rear. We just have to wait and watch the show."
