Chapter 666: Larval Entity
Howls brewing with ultimate destruction and madness continuously erupted from within the Mother Box. The sheer, hysterical urge to slaughter and obliterate everything was so potent that you didn't need to see it; just listening to it sent shivers down your spine.
“I’ve specially prepared something good for you. After such a long time of preparation, I’ve finally managed to complete... a creature closest to the Ancient Doomsday.”
Tony waved his hand. The Mother Box burst forth with white lightning, accompanied by an apocalyptic sense of destruction. After a moment of silence, a towering entity roared frantically as it burst out from within the Mother Box.
The moment the entity revealed itself, Darkseid’s expression subtly changed.
“Doomsday...”
Darkseid’s gaze gradually turned cold.
No one had a more intimate understanding of a creature like Doomsday than he did.
Initially, after Tony risked acquiring a Doomsday Spore from the Ancient Doomsday, he decisively threw it through a Mother Box towards Apokolips, resulting in Darkseid being brutally beaten by the Ancient Doomsday.
Losing face was a minor issue. Darkseid couldn’t accept such a humiliating defeat. Even now, he remained obsessed with creatures like Doomsday.
When he fought the Ancient Doomsday again, at first, Darkseid firmly held the upper hand, suppressing the Ancient Doomsday. Logically, it would have only been a matter of time before the Ancient Doomsday was killed.
Many who had dared to invade Apokolips had been torn apart by Darkseid.
However, the Ancient Doomsday, growing stronger with every blow and evolving infinitely, truly unleashed its might. It ultimately pulverized Darkseid, and furthermore, left Apokolips riddled with holes.
The frustrating feeling of essentially training his enemy was enough for Darkseid to remember for a lifetime.
“Looks familiar, doesn’t it? Although it’s only a Larval Entity, I don’t think it’ll have any trouble dealing with this Clone of yours. Or perhaps I should throw it onto Apokolips again?”
Tony stroked his chin, and revealed an unsettling smile.
This black Monster, freshly burst from its Incubation Sac and still covered in yellow amniotic fluid, had bulging muscles. Its black skin was extremely smooth. Unlike Organic Life, it possessed a distinct metallic texture and sharp angles. At this point, it hadn't yet had the chance to develop its iconic keratinous growths and Bone Spurs. Its facial features were squashed together, appearing flattened.
The moment it revealed its form, the primal rage deep within its Genes caused it to involuntarily let out a frantic roar. This was a declaration of its birth to the Multiverse.
A Monster imbued with destruction and Death from its very bones.
“A beautiful piece of artwork; you actually succeeded.”
Darkseid observed the Larval Entity, a look of appreciation in his eyes. For him, concepts like beauty and ugliness could not be described by visual perception alone.
His gaze could penetrate the Essence of Life. At this moment, Darkseid was observing the Larval Entity’s Gene Chain, Life Factor, and Spirit Willpower. Although Tony had concealed most of it with the Power of the One-Above-All, the small portion that was revealed, its highly complex nature and extraordinary potential, was already enough to move Darkseid.
“But it’s not enough. This isn’t the Ancient Doomsday,” Darkseid commented.
Honestly, creatures of the Doomsday type were among Darkseid’s favorites. He particularly liked Monsters that were inherently destructive from their very core, finding them much to his liking.
“To completely recreate a second Ancient Doomsday is fundamentally impossible. I only recently understood this point.”
Tony showcased his artwork to Darkseid. “I attempted it 130 million times, and every single attempt failed. Not a single product met my standards. So, I shifted my research direction slightly.”
Darkseid didn't make a move. He asked with interest, “Shifted to what?”
Tony, of course, didn't answer.
He merely used the four Kryptonian Gods as a blueprint, combined with all the data he could gather, along with his slight research into the Essence of Life of Omega Mutants like Iceman, and the life-giving properties of the Allspark, to finally create this Larval Entity.
The blueprint for the Ancient Doomsday was an Ancient Kryptonian Evil God, a Quasi-Unique Being. Tony could no longer verify the Essence of Life of that deity. He could only use the four Kryptonian Gods to research similar directions.
Fortunately, he succeeded.
The volatile Larval Entity, from the moment it revealed its form, spread emotions of destruction and madness. Its tyrannical eyes fixated on everything it could see, including Tony and Darkseid. The instant it saw them, the Larval Entity erupted with an instinctive desire for destruction.
Roar!
It let out a roar, and immediately charged out. The moment it stepped out of the Mother Box, it was pulverized into dust by the Blood Realm's Energy. Pulp-like flesh dispersed throughout the Blood Realm.
“It seems you can’t properly control this thing. What’s the point?” Darkseid sneered.
Tony remained silent, watching quietly.
Soon, a fragment suddenly wriggled and grew frantically. The dangerous Blood Realm Energy, that red Higher Dimensional Matter, was absorbed by the fragment at a visible speed.
Before long, the Larval Entity had completed its growth. Its size hadn't noticeably changed, but its metallic texture had become more pronounced.
At least in terms of Revival ability, this Larval Entity was already similar to the Ancient Doomsday. However, its Evolution ability seemed somewhat inferior.
The Larval Entity was ravaged and scarred by even more violent Blood Realm Energy. But soon, it absorbed more Blood Realm Energy. Its internal circulation system, operating at extreme power, flowed in cycles, each cycle granted the Larval Entity more Power.
Its Genes rapidly adapted to the harsh environment of the Blood Realm, dying twice before it could withstand the onslaught of Blood Realm Energy.
Tony observed calmly. He was very satisfied with the Larval Entity’s performance.
He had long since given up on recreating a second Ancient Doomsday. Such an uncontrollable Monster, if another one were to be born, would be a complete Nightmare.
He had more considerations for the Larval Entity.
“Roar! Roar!!”
The Larval Entity roared, its strength rapidly increasing. It fixed its gaze on Tony, who was close at hand. It tilted its head, seemingly “thinking”—thinking, for the Larval Entity, was an unprecedented experience; it needed time to adapt to this new experience of thought.
Then, the Larval Entity roared and lunged at Tony, its mouth twisted in a ferocious snarl, brimming with Killing Intent.
Crunch!
Tony, expressionless, crushed the Larval Entity’s head.
“Interesting,” Darkseid suddenly chuckled.
Tony glanced at Darkseid and smiled back. “You’ll see something even more interesting. Just try not to cry when you do.”
“You are a very interesting fellow,” Darkseid remarked, a rare occurrence for him.
The Larval Entity, having lost its head, stiffened for a moment on the spot. Then, its body frantically regenerated, only restoring its head after growing a mass of useless flesh.
It had already learned the ability to regenerate only parts of its body.
