Chapter 679

## Chapter 664: The Mother Box's Restlessness

“Is it over?”

Kara smacked her lips, looking up at Galactus, who had been torn into countless fragments, and blinked.

Her super vision allowed her to see the scene in the sky, but even she hadn't clearly seen the process of the battle. She only saw energy fluctuations, various strange lights flickering erratically, and then the apocalyptic Galactus died with a flop.

John's face fell instantly. “What a quick downfall. I thought I'd get to fight this big guy... Don't worry, Kara, I'll protect you no matter what! You just need to stand behind me!”

He patted his chest, making a solemn vow.

Kara blinked and simply hummed in response.

She wanted to say that she could kill John with a single punch, so how exactly would he protect her... but Kara, with her kind and simple nature, didn't voice it.

In these past few months on Earth, she had vaguely come to understand some social graces, no longer as naïve and clueless as before.

“This is the best outcome, because no one else will have to sacrifice themselves.” Iceman Bobby quietly lowered his hand, the chilling air emanating from his palm slowly dissipating.

Just now, he had been ready to fight with his life. Bobby estimated that he could have defeated Galactus. From the Iacon Archives on Cybertron, he had reviewed the S-Class document with the highest authority, which explained his classification as an Omega Level Mutant.

Infinite potential and immortal life are the greatest characteristics of an Omega Mutant. Iceman, who was usually steady-tempered, was only excited for a short time after learning this news.

This time, with Galactus trying to devour Earth, Iceman reckoned that if his emotions fluctuated greatly, he could definitely freeze Galactus.

But he couldn't save all Earthlings; many would still die.

“I think we should go back.”

Howard ruffled his feathers. Wearing a baseball cap, he had a book tucked under his left duck wing and a cigar in his right, looking remarkably like Sherlock Holmes.

This small team had been enjoying themselves on Earth for a long time, even getting acquainted with a group from the Avengers and Justice League.

Kara had also met Clark, but Clark still felt awkward and uncomfortable about suddenly having an older cousin. This was because not long ago, a fellow claiming to be H'el had appeared, and H'el was then mind-controlled by an unknown Being who called itself Rao...

It was a mess, and Clark stated he needed some peace and quiet.

Galactus's death was a profoundly shocking event, and it was foreseeable that the Main Universe would not lack for conversation topics for a very long time.

Many Superheroes gravely searched for the whereabouts of Red Lantern Hulk, hoping to communicate with him. The fact that such a terrifying creature was still lurking on Earth made them quite apprehensive.

Tony, far away in the Nirvana Universe, had no mind to concern himself with the events in the Main Universe. For him, while Galactus was powerful, he was nothing worth much attention.

Bigger trouble awaited him.

Rumble...

The Mother Box slowly closed, and Tony stepped out of that closed world. Behind him, the Four Great Main Gods had already gone silent.

Tony narrowed his eyes and looked at the sky. Whistling snow waves rolled down, obscuring the magnificent snowy mountains.

The Mother Box's Core seemed to tremble slightly, responding to something in the distant reaches.

Only Apokolips, only Darkseid, could cause such a reaction from the Mother Box.

“Darkseid... Steppenwolf said he would come for me. I didn't expect it to be so soon, but it's good that I made it just in time.”

Tony frowned, then slowly relaxed.

He lifted the Mother Box and stepped forward, already having left Earth. White Light flashed as the Mother Box's power activated, carrying Tony to travel through space and time, instantly exiting the Nirvana Universe and speeding towards an even more distant direction.

At the same time, Tony sent an order to the Nirvana Universe's Gaia Consciousness.

“Leave here.”

In the Blood Realm, the Nirvana Universe, noticeably smaller than other Universes, suddenly began to move. This round, black sphere quickly left its spot, rapidly moving in the opposite direction from Tony. Its movement speed was astonishingly fast, as it plunged among more black spheres, finding its position to lie low.

Playing dead was the Gaia Consciousness's most powerful skill. It could disguise its body to be indistinguishable from other Universes.

Even if Apokolips or some other beings thought they had located the Nirvana Universe, they would be too naive. The Nirvana Universe was alive; it was Tony's alternate Clone, a massive being that could move.

No one could find the Nirvana Universe, which meant no one could locate the secret stronghold New God Tony had established in the Multiverse.

Dealing with Darkseid was a tricky problem; it certainly couldn't be solved by just brute force.

The Dark Tyrant of the Gods' Domain was definitely not solely driven by tyrannical and destructive emotions. He also possessed high intelligence and, at times, a frighteningly broad-minded temperament.

Tony remembered a certain comic segment where Darkseid's Progeny introduced friends to Darkseid, chatting and joking around the entire time. Darkseid simply couldn't be bothered with his son, only coldly uttered a few words from beginning to end.

A being like Darkseid, while indeed furious and bloodthirsty, was also genuinely too lazy to deal with trivial matters. Being an enemy and dealing with such a being was the most troublesome thing, because you couldn't predict which of your words might touch the Tyrant's sore spot.

Very troublesome.

And considering the terrifying versatility of the Omega Effect, it would only become more troublesome. Tony couldn't hide in the Mother Box forever.

Steppenwolf had already warned Tony that Darkseid would find him and demand the Mother Box. This was because Apokolips would absolutely never give up their most top-tier Constructs. Without the Mother Box, they would suffer great losses in the war with New Genesis that broke out every hundred God-realm years.

Tony had been preparing.

In the vast Blood Realm, Tony held the Mother Box, his expression cold as he waited for Darkseid. He could clearly feel a certain terrifying gaze from an extremely distant place remotely tracking his whereabouts.

A Clone of Darkseid was quickly approaching him.

Craggy, grey skin like weathered rock, brewing the terrifying Divine Power from the God of Apokolips. This was unique Divine Power, originating from the Son of Yuga Khan, another terrifying Singular God's Divine Power.

Divine Power, moreover, blessed by the Omega Effect.

The terrifying figure was approaching. Pale red, indifferent pupils crossed the barriers of countless Universes to meet Tony's gaze. The Qi presence of the Singular Gods intertwined. Intense Information Aggregates collided first, as the respective powerful information of the two Singular Gods engaged in their first round of confrontation.

Darkseid had arrived.
