Chapter 652: Inhumans, Kree, Skrulls, Annihilation Wave

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

The Inhumans on the Moon remained silent for a long time, but finally joined the war.

After their King returned to the Moon from the Skrull Empire, he openly killed the impostor ruling the Moon and declared their entry into the war between the Kree and the Skrulls.

The war between the two great interstellar empires had lasted for two years, with billions of casualties, already severely weakening both the Kree and the Skrulls.

When their technology and individual strength reached such a level, a single planet-destroying cannon could easily obliterate a habitable planet. This made the war's scale terrifyingly vast, and the casualties incredibly brutal.

The war between the Skrulls, who controlled the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Kree, who controlled the Large Magellanic Cloud, was already nearing its end. The two empires' horrific casualties had pushed them to their breaking point.

Led by the Level Seven Black Bolt, the Inhumans suddenly joined the battle and attacked the Kree's flagship.

Indeed, Black Bolt, who held a grudge against the Skrulls, ultimately chose to ally with them to deal with the Kree.

Compared to the Skrulls, who had played a trick on Black Bolt but caused no substantial harm to the Inhumans, the animosity between the Inhumans and the Kree was far greater.

The Inhuman race was essentially a genetic product created by the Kree, who had mimicked the Celestials in genetically modifying primitive Earthlings. This hatred ran incredibly deep.

The Inhumans possessed advanced technological prowess, and while it was far from enough to rival the Kree, a single Black Bolt could match countless interstellar fleets.

A Level Seven combatant. The entire Kree race, with its 30 billion people, had failed to produce a single Level Seven life form. Yet, the descendants of their experimental subjects astonishingly gave birth to one.

Against Black Bolt, the Kree suffered immense losses. News of numerous fleets being annihilated, with heavy casualties, arrived daily.

"Yes, exactly! Kill these damned Kree!" The Skrull King was extremely excited, shouting slogans with his officials, vowing to eliminate these lowly reptiles.

The Skrulls and Kree also shared an ancient enmity, the reason for which was quite amusing: an interstellar version of The Farmer and the Snake.

In ages far more ancient than Earth, the Celestials also performed genetic modification on primitive Skrulls, likewise dividing them into two major groups: the Perfected and the Mutants.

Remarkably similar to the situation on Earth, among the Skrull race, the naturally weak Mutants surprisingly overthrew the Perfected, who were born with superpowers and powerful physiques, and then annihilated the Perfected.

Afterward, unlike Earth, the Skrulls inexplicably passed the Celestials' assessment, were deemed qualified creations, and were granted freedom.

The Skrulls then developed rapidly, experiencing population and technological explosions. Simultaneously, their sense of excessive altruism also surged, leading them to believe that as the greatest species in the entire universe, they had an obligation to help weaker species develop.

Then, over a million years ago, the overly compassionate and arrogant Skrulls dispatched a research vessel to Planet Hala in the Large Magellanic Cloud. They helped the indigenous species there—the Kree and the Cotati—develop technology and establish civilization, and cordially invited them to join the Skrull Free Trade Empire, but they only invited one species to join.

The Kree and Cotati engaged in fierce competition for this single slot. The Kree held an overwhelming advantage in all aspects, but the Skrulls' provocative move utterly enraged them—because they chose the Cotati instead.

The infuriated Kree ambushed the Skrulls' research vessel, killed all the Skrulls aboard, plundered all their technology and weapons, and then proceeded to commit genocide against the Cotati.

What happened next was clear: the Kree acquired ready-made super-empire technology and weapons, used them to conquer the Large Magellanic Cloud in just 100 years, becoming a powerful empire that could barely contend with the Skrulls. The million-year-long, all-encompassing conflict between the two great empires officially began, continuing to this day.

A million years of brutal confrontation had completely erased the disparity between the Kree and the Skrulls. War, truly, was the best catalyst.

Whether it was population size, technological prowess, number of powerhouses, imperial prestige, or systems, the two great empires were remarkably similar. This caused the Skrulls to steadily lose their advantage on the battlefield, eventually finding themselves in a stalemate with the Kree, who had developed for a mere million years. Their very spirit had been slowly eroded by the Kree.

The Skrulls always remembered this hatred of "The Overly Compassionate Farmer and the Arrogant Snake," insisting on continuing the war, even if it meant fighting for another million years.

They firmly believed that the noble Skrulls would absolutely defeat the lowly Kree, and that the Skrulls would undoubtedly be the ultimate victors.

However, the noble Skrulls could never foresee the future. The shadow of the Annihilation Wave was looming, and the Skrulls would be the first to face it...

The Inhumans, led by the powerful Black Bolt, advanced like a breaking tide, while the Skrulls seized the opportunity to add insult to injury, causing the Kree to suffer repeated defeats.

"We must retreat. Engaging with both Black Bolt and the Skrulls simultaneously results in too great a loss," ordered the ruler of the Kree Empire, a supercomputer named Supreme Intelligence.

Supreme Intelligence contained the brains of several of the Kree's most brilliant individuals, along with all their science, military, philosophy, and ideology, powerfully governing the vast Kree Empire.

Kosla suddenly stood up and said, "If you're willing to entrust me with the Hunter Energy, I might be qualified to resist Black Bolt."

Supreme Intelligence refused without hesitation: "I have a better option, Kosla. Someone is more suited than you to wield the powerful Hunter Energy."

A flicker of displeasure crossed Kosla's face: "Are you referring to Captain Marvel? She's an Earthling, what kind of Kree is that?!"

"That's not important. The key is that she can bring us victory. She was once Accuser Ronan's most excellent subordinate, and now she will become a sharp blade for the Kree Empire," Supreme Intelligence stated.

As the initiator and leader of the Hunter Project, Kosla felt even more incensed.

The Hunter Project aimed to create a miraculous energy consumption template that could convert any matter it touched into a deadly weapon. Kosla naturally believed he was the best user for the Hunter Energy.

But Supreme Intelligence did not think so.

"Victory belongs to the Kree Empire. The Skrulls' doom is not far off. I have observed a terrifying shadow approaching, and the Skrulls will be the first to be engulfed in the darkness."

Supreme Intelligence spoke with certainty, but Kosla had no interest in listening. His mind was entirely focused on how to acquire the Hunter Energy.

Deep greed flickered in his eyes.

"I am willing to follow your instructions."

Kosla lowered his head and slowly left the area.

He bypassed several departments along the way, showing no trace of abnormality on his face. He knew Supreme Intelligence was monitoring him.

"As long as I obtain the Hunter Energy..."

Kosla calmly walked into the laboratory, but in a hidden corner, a pair of silver eyes had already been watching the laboratory.
