Chapter 651: Who Exactly Are You?!
Smokescreen grinned, pressing his palm against the Phase Shifter and turning it slightly. A more intense Speed Force surged out, and the sudden burst of pale blue electric arcs flashed and thundered, instantly overwhelming Reverse-Flash's blood-red arcs.
The speed of Speedsters is directly related to factors such as the number, brightness, and destructive power of their electric arcs, as the electric arcs themselves are a manifestation of the Speed Force.
Reverse-Flash snorted coldly, his legs furiously giving chase. His incredibly high frequency and astonishing control over the Speed Force allowed him to turn the tide even in extremely unfavorable situations.
What's more, Smokescreen was inherently not his equal. Before Reverse-Flash's kick could land, they were already battling on the other side of the city. In a close-quarters fight empowered by the Speed Force, every ordinary attack had the potential to be fatal.
Battles between Speedsters are absolutely the most dangerous zones.
As Smokescreen sprinted at high speed, his arms flailed wildly. The moment his speed abruptly increased, the electric arcs surrounding him appeared to "stagnate" for an instant. Smokescreen reached out, grabbed these electric arcs, and hurled them one by one at Reverse-Flash.
Speed Force lightning is when Speedsters directly grab electric arcs and hurl them like javelins. This readily creatable weapon is the most common combat method for Speedsters, but this fighting style demands extremely high physical capabilities from the Speedster themselves. They must at least be able to withstand an instant surge in speed to seize the relatively slower Speed Force electric arcs that had dissipated from their bodies moments before.
Five solidified lightning bolts rapidly pierced towards Reverse-Flash. Reverse-Flash easily dodged three, then reached out and caught the fourth lightning bolt, blocking the fifth, before aiming it at Smokescreen in front and fiercely throwing the pale blue lightning bolt back.
"Holy crap!"
Smokescreen's eyes bulged out. He awkwardly rolled on the ground to dodge, only managing to stop after crashing into dozens of cars.
"You're still far from my level. The Speedsters I've killed over the years aren't just one or two. Every Speedster thinks they can win, let alone you."
Reverse-Flash's face was blurred, but Smokescreen felt he clearly saw a sinister grin.
"You win, you win. No wonder you could tangle with The Flash for so long... But I'm not your opponent."
Smokescreen stood up, covered in dust, and brushed it off his body, casually pointing in one direction. There, a yellow electric arc was zipping towards them at a visible speed.
The yellow electric arc suddenly joined the battle between the two. The Flash stopped, sliding over ten meters on the ground, his eyes fixed on Reverse-Flash.
"It's you... it's you! The red Speed Force!!! Twenty years ago, it was you who killed my mother and caused my father to be unjustly imprisoned!!!"
Enemies meeting again sparks intense hatred. Even after more than twenty years, Barry, who had grown from a five-year-old child into a man, could never forget that nightmare of a day.
That night, a red and yellow storm suddenly descended into Barry's living room. At its center was Barry's mother, and these intensely red and yellow lights spun wildly around her. No one could clearly see what these lights truly were.
Until everything vanished, the scene froze on Barry's mother, her heart pierced by a suddenly appearing dagger.
The police investigated for a long time and eventually arrested Barry's father, sentencing him to life imprisonment.
Barry remembered this nightmare for twenty full years, waking up in a cold sweat from nightmares every night.
Red electric arcs, a mysterious figure appearing suddenly...
Barry's eyes instantly turned red: "Who are you?!"
Reverse-Flash tilted his head, looking at the guardian of Central City, his low, synthesized voice laced with eeriness and mockery: "If you want to know who I am, you'll have to run faster than me."
"Autobot, I'll spare your life today. If I see you again, I'll kill you!"
Reverse-Flash tossed out this remark, then sneered and vanished from the spot.
The Flash chased furiously, one after the other, the red electric arc clinging tightly to the yellow electric arc. In a few seconds, they had raced out of Central City and onto the open sea.
Their rapidly pounding legs struck the surface of the sea, kicking up water curtains dozens of meters high. The two figures then commenced a frenzied chase across the vast ocean.
Oh, to Speedsters, there was essentially no difference between the vast ocean and a small puddle.
Wherever electric arcs appeared, the surface of the water churned. Before one churn could settle, the streaking figures would tread across it again, making the sea's agitation even more violent.
Strange, localized tsunamis erupted across various parts of Earth. The sea spray kicked up by some small tsunamis collided with the tsunamis next to them, annihilating each other.
"Too slow, The Flash!"
Reverse-Flash pushed his speed to the absolute limit, squeezing every drop of Speed Force from his body, barely exceeding three thousand times the speed of sound. As he ran ahead, he didn't forget to look back and taunt.
Barry's eyes were bloodshot and his pupils dilated with rage. He roared and accelerated, but no matter how hard he tried, he was always a little slower than Reverse-Flash. Every time he desperately sped up, Reverse-Flash would also accelerate, just staying ahead of him, dangling him along.
Like a carrot dangled in front of a donkey, urging it to run harder for something it could never reach.
Bang!
Pale blue electric arcs appeared, and a tall figure, like a tank, slammed into Reverse-Flash, instantly sending him hundreds of meters deep into the Underwater Realm.
Smokescreen subconsciously whistled.
Barry frowned at him: "Who are you?"
"Me? I'm... uh... Carman! That's right, Carman!"
At some point, Smokescreen's head was covered by a layer of metal plates, obscuring his face. He stood nonchalantly on the surface of the sea, completely ignoring his rapidly sinking, heavy chassis.
"Haven't we met before today?" Barry asked.
Smokescreen raised his chin: "You've got the wrong person."
"...Your body type hasn't changed at all compared to a few hours ago," Barry said, his expression grim.
"You're blind. What you saw was completely different. Forget about it," Smokescreen waved his hand.
Barry's expression was gloomy. Although he didn't know why Smokescreen was also a Speedster, he didn't seem to be a villain, and Barry had never seen a pale blue Speed Force before.
More importantly, everyone knew whose robots these were on Earth...
Tony wanting to get his hands on some Speed Force seemed perfectly reasonable, no matter how one looked at it...
Barry stared intently at the sea's surface, glaring at the figure in the yellow power suit.
"Who are you?" Barry asked, his body trembling slightly as he suppressed his rage.
Reverse-Flash looked at Barry with indifference, and after a long silence, slowly spoke: "I am Reverse-Flash, your destined mortal enemy!"
"I will kill you, and end the struggle that has entangled us for centuries... The Flash, you're not fast enough. You can't even touch the hem of my suit. When you can outrun me, you will know the truth. Everything you want to know will surface then!"
