Chapter 282

Chapter 281: Trigon

"This is my realm, creature of Light!"

Trigon's roar shook the realm, and his rage seemed to transform into a tangible flame that erupted from his massive, crimson palm.

"Your foolish provocation will cost your entire world! First you, then everyone you care about, then your entire world! Everything you know will burn in eternal flames!"

Of course, while his roars were loud and his presence terrifying, he first had to actually land a hit.

The instant he attacked, Orin Vale had already accelerated and dodged out of the demon's line of fire. The flame grazed past his red-and-silver body, and under mach acceleration, Orin Vale evaded the impact of the flames, racing toward Trigon in an arc.

Although it looked like ordinary fire magic, it was Trigon's fire. Even a powerhouse on Darkseid's level wouldn't want to test it personally if they were in their right mind.

In fact, without needing to test it himself, Orin Vale could sense the unparalleled power contained within that flame. And it wasn't just something on a physical level, like heat and impact. Beyond that, it contained a kind of annihilating power, somewhat similar to the nature of the Omega effect in Darkseid's Omega Beams—a high-level magical ability.

After all, Trigon was a powerhouse who specialized in flames; the fire he commanded was naturally no ordinary thing.

Orin Vale sprinted in an S-pattern, continuously dodging three fireballs and bypassing a gushing dragon of fire to charge right in front of Trigon. Trigon's hand gesture changed, and he immediately switched from long-range to close combat, striking out with a palm wreathed in flame.

Orin Vale ducked low to evade, sliding under the demon's arm. Trigon intercepted with a swing punch that traced a burning arc, but Orin Vale ducked again, maintaining his astonishing high speed to pass through the curtain of fire and return to the right flank. Empowered by an electric arc, a blurred right hook heavily struck the demon's cheek.

Lightning exploded with immense impact. The divine power, enhanced by his speed, sent a violent tremor through Trigon's head, causing even his massive frame to stagger in the direction of the punch.

Orin Vale confirmed he still held the advantage in speed, which was good news.

Perhaps he genuinely felt pain from that punch, or perhaps he simply felt insulted. Trigon's six eyes suddenly glowed red-hot. He spun around, a powerful, turning whip-fist dragging a 180-degree sweep of blazing flame with it.

An electric arc radiated from Orin Vale's body again. Before the whip-fist could connect, he had already leaped into the air, planting a single palm on Trigon's head as he executed a somersault to land behind him.

Trigon turned to pursue, but as soon as he turned his head, a blurry afterimage wrapped in an electric arc shot into his vision. After the somersault, Orin Vale launched into a spinning leap—a gorgeous, stunt-like 360-degree rotation—unleashing a flying kick. During the spin, he used the Speed Force to accelerate to several tens of mach, landing the kick squarely on Trigon's face.

The electric arc exploded on his cheek. Taking that kick caused even the scenery in Trigon's eyes to distort for a moment. He took two steps back and instinctively shot out his right palm repeatedly, streams of fire dragons pouring from his palm, clearly trying to force his opponent back to gain some distance and recovery time.

But with a flicker, Orin Vale was already gone. The flame shattered the afterimage and pierced through the structures behind him.

In a flash of electric light, he appeared behind Trigon. He jumped onto Trigon's back, planted his right foot, and grabbing Trigon, fell backward in a Tomoe Nage-like jujutsu technique, using his legs to throw Trigon's body backward with all his might.

This throw sent the demon soaring through the air for an unknown number of miles before he landed on his head and braked with his face, dragging a trench for more than half a city's length before finally coming to a stop.

This was another reason Orin Vale liked the demon dimension: he didn't have to hold back.

He could fight all out, with no psychological burden even if he blew Trigon's home to kingdom come.

Orin Vale continued to accelerate in pursuit, his red-and-silver afterimage about to reach Trigon in an instant. The demon lay sprawled on the ground, covered in dust, and let out an enraged roar. A scorching, blood-like impact wave erupted from his position, forcing the approaching Orin Vale to abruptly change direction to dodge the shockwave.

But just as he braked, preparing to turn and resume his charge, he felt his body halt. It was as if his weight had instantly increased ten-million-fold. An electric arc exploded around him, but he failed to break free.

Looking down, he was surprised to find that he had been bound at some point.

By space itself.

The space around him had undergone a strange transformation. It looked like shackles made of countless transparent prisms, layered one after another around him, clinging tightly to his body and locking him in place at these coordinates, making it difficult to move.

"You are fast, and you are strong. I will admit that, creature of Light."

Trigon rose to his feet, a spinning, fiery magic array in his hand locking onto the immobilized Orin Vale.

"But you can't run so well now, can you?"

As he roared, annihilating flame rushed toward Orin Vale, reflecting clearly in his eyes.

It would be difficult to break free with brute force alone. It was some kind of spatial magic.

However, magic is merely one way of applying rules and energy. Since it's a spatial skill...

An electric arc erupted. Orin Vale suddenly became a blurry afterimage and slipped right through the spatial bind, ducking low to dodge the flame. A dazzling fire dragon flew over his head.

Trigon was startled. "How?"

But before he could finish, the crouching Orin Vale fired an instant-cast Spacium Ray. The azure light ray struck the demon's left shoulder.

Trigon roared, clutching his shoulder as he retreated. Where the demon was struck by the light ray, a huge hole remained as if pierced by a sword blade. A scalding, lava-like substance overflowed from the wound with a hiss, emitting a blood-red smoke screen.

All six of his eyes flashed as if charging up. He abruptly opened his mouth, and immense magic power poured into it, forming a burning torrent!

Orin Vale thrust out his left palm, fingers spread, as a barrier formed from energy materialized before him. The world-ending torrent crashed against the barrier, and the massive impact forced both him and his shield backward.

But after steadying himself, he immediately discarded the shield and dodged to the side, bypassing the blazing flame to dart forward. At the same time, light energy transformed in his hands into two serrated flying wheels, connected by a photon chain to form a chain-blade.

He quickly closed the distance, and Trigon immediately changed his tactics. The flame in the demon's palm suddenly converged, condensing without dissipating, and transformed into the physical form of a sword—a massive greatsword, which he wielded for a fierce strike.

The sword of blazing flame and the photon flying wheels clashed head-on. Excess energy, splashing light particles, the aftershocks of the impact, the surrounding mountain peaks and rock, the earth and the mountain ranges—everything was continuously annihilated by the collision.

Finally, both the greatsword and the light wheels dissipated into light particles and sparks.

The Giant of Light and the Demon of Flame stood face-to-face, their faces nearly touching.

The Giant crossed his hands into a cross and pressed them against the demon's face.

The demon opened its mouth, blazing flame churning in its eyes and mouth simultaneously.

An azure light ray and the flame of hell erupted with full power in the same second. A zero-distance energy clash. The impact of destruction spread out in all directions with the two colossal bodies at its center, until everything within sight was engulfed.
