Chapter 92: A Pitiful Appeal
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
At 12 AM tonight, VIP access will officially open. As is tradition, I should write a pitiful appeal to bait you into subscribing…
Alright, I just wanted to trick you into coming in for a look.
I once said I would finish this book, remember? If I were to write a thousand chapters, I would have already completed one-tenth. If I were to write six hundred, I would have completed one-sixth. And if I were to write three hundred, I would have completed one-third. I can't say I can write it well, nor can I make any guarantees. After all, every year there are cases of Level Four, Level 5, or even Great God-level authors dropping their books or ruining the plot. But I will do my best to finish it. I know you don't believe me, so just watch. Time will reveal all the answers.
Of course, when I say "finish," I mean a *real* ending (taps blackboard, this is important, it'll be on the test), and definitely not something like this:
"[The protagonist's expression was incomparably cold. He stretched out a hand that blotted out the sky and covered the sun, grabbing from afar at the Endless Star Sea. Countless sparks erupted in the sky as an unknown number of planets shattered. Suddenly, the protagonist whipped his head around, a cold smirk on his face. He thrust his hand out of the screen and viciously grabbed the author's crotch! Blood splattered!!!
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!” The innocent author let out a blood-curdling scream. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I've become a eunuch!!!!!!!!!!”]"
I will not be writing an "ending" like that…
Ahem, I've gotten sidetracked. Anyway, as is tradition, there will be a mass release on the first day of premium access. I'll guarantee at least four chapters tomorrow. After all, my hands are a bit slow; I can't even imagine those masters who can write four or five thousand words in an hour…
I've thought it over and over, considering whether I should offer bonus chapters for hitting certain average subscription milestones or donation amounts. But after mulling it over, I decided against it. With 9,600 collections right now, a conservative 30:1 or 40:1 collection-to-subscriber ratio would give me about two to three hundred average subscribers. There's no need to set myself up for ridicule. For a new author, the most important thing is to maintain a stable mindset. Setting goals too high and facing a huge gap is the most terrifying thing. Who knows how many people drop their novels on the very first day of premium access? It leaves one speechless.
If all you dear readers feel that this book is still worthy of your time, please subscribe! I know some of you might be students, under 18 without even your own bank account, let alone the ability to top up an account. If it's convenient, please give a first subscription. (Some say the first VIP chapter is the "first subscription," while others say it's the average of all chapters on the first day. I'm not sure myself, so it would be best if you could subscribe to all of tomorrow's chapters, or at the very least, subscribe to the first chapter.) If it's really difficult for you, I won't force it. You can show your support by leaving a comment in the review section.
Oh, and for readers subscribing through other channels, if it's convenient, please download the "Qidian Reading" app and subscribe there. On Qidian, for a 2,000-word chapter, if you spend ten cents, the author gets five. But on other channels, you spend the same ten cents, and the author only gets two-and-a-half cents; the other two-and-a-half are deducted as a channel fee… Of course, I'm not forcing this either. I'm already very happy that you're subscribing at all.
Finally, I want to thank my editor-in-charge, Boss Ruoye, and my contract editor, the great Jingzhe! And I also want to thank all of you who have accompanied me to this day.
