Chapter 244

Chapter 240: My Foolish Father...

"Don't kill him. He needs to live. Otherwise, the Brotherhood of Mutants will riot and start slaughtering ordinary humans without a second thought. It's not worth the cost," Tony reminded her.

Diana, as the daughter of Zeus, a natural-born demigod, had inherited a plethora of divine artifacts from the Olympus Pantheon. Furthermore, her body contained the blessings of the twelve main gods of Olympus. It could be said that she had no weaknesses, inside or out, born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

In truth, Diana was no weaker than Superman.

With just one punch, even someone as strong as Clark would be beaten until he coughed up blood.

Not to mention, Diana had no obvious shortcomings or weaknesses.

And so, Magneto's tragedy began.

A ruthless character who had dominated the world and run rampant across the Earth for decades was completely steamrolled in front of Diana.

"You shouldn't have involved innocent ordinary people! Too many have died because of you!"

Diana drew her Godkiller Sword and leaped, instantly crossing the distance. As she soared into mid-air, it was as if a strange gravity took hold of her body, causing her to plummet forward in a way that defied science. It seemed her personal gravity had surged in a short period, accelerating her descent.

This was also a simple application of Divine Power.

"You are too arrogant, you ignorant child," Magneto said, seething with fury. He reached out, intending to directly control all of Diana's equipment.

Unfortunately, the reaction was minimal. When the vast Magnetic Field Power was applied, it only created a small ripple. To his horror, Magneto discovered that his magnetokinesis had been significantly weakened by some kind of power.

Unwilling to give up, he immediately tried to control all the metallic elements within Diana's body, but... it was still of little use.

Within Diana's body, the Olympian Divine Power was protecting her, allowing her to effortlessly contend with a Level Four Magneto.

Diana split the metal wall in front of her with a single slash of her sword. With a fierce cry, she charged forward lightly, yet landed like a hulking beast, smashing into the ground. She swept her sword horizontally, and the combination of her astonishing arm strength and terrifying Divine Power created a sonic boom. Before this incredible speed, the air was visibly torn apart.

Tony, who was watching closely, saw all the microscopic changes caused by the Godkiller Sword's cleave.

The terrifying sharpness emanating from the Godkiller Sword gave it a sense of indestructible keenness. The fine particles floating in the air were agitated by this immense power, and they all began to riot at the same time.

It was like a large shark being suddenly thrown into a small pond, stirring up massive waves.

The moisture in the air was even instantly vaporized, and then the vaporized molecules were easily crushed by the Olympian Divine Power, structurally destroying everything that had existed.

A weapon that could kill gods... its terrifying power was enough to make even Tony feel wary.

"Diana!"

Tony's expression was grave as he shouted the warning.

Magneto can't die yet!

Even if he had to die, he couldn't die so easily at Diana's hands. After all, this was all part of Tony's plan. If Magneto were killed by Diana, not only would they lose his combat power, but Tony would also have no way to explain it to the Mutant Faction, no way to explain it to Professor X, and certainly no way to explain it to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

"Hmph!"

Magneto was also going all out. His eyes were bloodshot and seemed about to split open. He suddenly splayed his hand open and fiercely clenched it, and a torrent of Magnetic Field Power began to surge from his aged body, creating some resistance against the Godkiller Sword.

He couldn't control the metallic elements inside Diana's body. Such fine control was a huge burden even for Magneto, not to mention she was also protected by Divine Power.

However, creating a bit of interference and resistance against Diana's divine artifacts was still possible.

Diana didn't pause for a moment. Even though her precious sword was momentarily controlled, she didn't try to break through Magneto's Magnetic Field Control with brute force. Instead, in an instant, her combat instincts took over. She slightly loosened the grip of her right hand on the Godkiller Sword, then raised her shield with her left, viciously stomped her foot, shattering the ground, and charged fiercely toward Magneto.

The astonishingly hard shield, combined with the monstrous strength Diana unleashed, driven by her Divine Power, had already broken the hundred-ton barrier. It sent Magneto flying.

A mouthful of blood sprayed wretchedly from Magneto's mouth. His entire body was sent flying, and it felt as if his internal organs had all been displaced.

Diana was a veteran of countless battles. She had been training in martial arts and hunting various alien beings since she was a child. Her combat instincts were terrifyingly high, to say nothing of the fact that the aged Magneto had let her get into close range.

"Magneto can't die yet," Tony said in a deep voice. A moment ago, he had almost been unable to resist stepping in to stop her.

A Demigod-level Amazonian Warrior was truly terrifying.

After taking a hit like that, Magneto was definitely severely injured. Even with his magnetokinesis reinforcing his body, it was impossible for him to be strong enough to take a direct blow from Diana. That would be too absurd.

Even someone as physically tough as Tony would have to make thorough preparations to take an attack from Diana head-on, let alone Magneto, who was sent flying by a direct hit.

People like Superman and Wonder Woman were damn brawlers. Anyone who fights from a distance would have to be an idiot to engage them in close combat.

This single blow had directly broken several of Magneto's ribs. The sound of painful coughing could be heard, accompanied by him spitting out bits of flesh and blood. After the initial agony passed, he gradually started to feel a bit better.

"Truly incredible..." Magneto gasped rapidly, controlling his own body to piece his broken ribs back together bit by bit. "I've never heard of someone like you. The daughter of Zeus? I always thought that was a myth, a children's story made up by mortals after deifying Mutants."

Tony shook his head with a bitter smile.

Zeus of Olympus, Odin of Asgard, and the Jade Emperor of the Eastern Heavenly Court—these three were the leaders of the native pantheons born from Yggdrasil, and each one possessed Level Seven strength.

As things stood, no Mutant had yet reached the level of a Level Seven. A Level 5 like Dark Phoenix was already extraordinary, capable of dismantling a life planet in minutes.

And so, a great battle was about to come to an end in this manner.

In truth, the moment Diana appeared, this fight could have been over. No one could stop the daughter of Zeus, let alone one equipped with a full set of divine artifacts, which was like having an overpowered trait...

A grand beginning, a lightning-fast end.

All the heroes watched with wide eyes, their attention focused especially on Diana. This woman who had appeared out of nowhere had utterly crushed Magneto.

Admittedly, Magneto had courted death by underestimating his enemy, but that couldn't hide how terrifying Diana was.

A figure resembling a hurricane suddenly rushed over. The silver-haired Pietro had suddenly appeared on the battlefield.

He looked left and right, his gaze furtively glancing at the father he feared so much, before taking a deep breath.

It was very sudden. Amidst the ruins, Quicksilver appeared, spotless, like a flashy pretty boy, as if he had been waiting for a long time.

"What are you doing here?" Magneto frowned.

Quicksilver took a few deep, ragged breaths, looked at Tony's encouraging expression, and steeled himself. With a mix of profound, cautious, solemn, and meaningful emotions, he uttered the words he would regret for the rest of his life.

"Oh, my foolish father..."
