Chapter 222: I Created You!
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
For the last time, Savitar crushed a Time Wraith. His tall body, crackling with lightning-like light, once again came to a halt from super-speed. He slightly raised his head, his cold eyes watching.
A pair of eyes seemed to be cautiously monitoring him, carrying hostility and a hint of... panic in the silence.
"You imprisoned and tortured me in the Speed Force Prison, leaving me to spend countless years in solitude. This time, I will make you taste suffering! I will take back everything that belongs to me from you!"
"Even you—the Speed Force! You were created by me!!!"
"Without me, you would never have been born! The transcendent Speed Force Wall would never have existed! Yet you locked me in the Speed Force Prison. If not for this accident, I would have remained imprisoned by you until death!!!"
Savitar roared, openly threatening the Speed Force's Collective Consciousness. The hatred in his heart was now completely unconcealed.
The Speed Force Prison was a place that made countless Powerhouses turn pale at its very mention. Theoretically, even a Level Eight Multiverse-level being locked inside the Speed Force Prison could never hope to escape.
Inside the Prison, countless streams of time and space were twisted together, constantly subjecting the inmates to the sensation of their bodies and spirits being torn apart—enough to break even those with the strongest endurance.
Furthermore, the Speed Force would create illusions, a mixture of truth and lies, offering hope only to personally tear it to shreds, trampling upon a person's will and soul.
The most terrifying part was that the concept of time ceased to exist inside. Since time itself was something the Speed Force could manipulate, a single second passing elsewhere could mean tens of thousands of years had gone by in the Prison.
Savitar had endured all of it. Heaven knew how he survived. If not for the accident that freed him, he likely would have descended into madness, never to return.
The Time Stream suddenly opened before Savitar, and a figure emerged from within.
He appeared to be an ordinary person, with no intimidating aura. Even his eyes were exceedingly calm, his gaze upon everything filled with indifference.
He was the Avatar of the Speed Force's Collective Consciousness.
"A nauseating sight. Did you deliberately choose this form just to disgust me?" Savitar's voice, distorted by his strange mask, was low and eerie.
"This is your form as well. Why are you so repulsed by yourself?" the Speed Force said.
Savitar clenched his fists and sneered, "I really thought you wouldn't show your face to me again... Well? Have anything to say to the master who created you?"
The Speed Force tilted its head, its handsome face devoid of any emotion, like a cold machine.
"You are him, but you are no longer him. You are Savitar."
"That doesn't change the fact that I created you!" Savitar said coldly. "I don't care that you gained consciousness, but you should not have stood against me in that battle, and you certainly shouldn't have tried to lock me in the Speed Force Prison forever!"
"I created you, yet you betrayed me!!!"
"I had to choose a side," the Speed Force said.
"If you weren't going to choose me, you shouldn't have chosen him! You should have at least remained neutral!" Savitar roared, unable to contain his hatred any longer. He flickered forward and shattered the Speed Force's phantom with a single punch.
Savitar, the one who proclaimed himself the creator of the Speed Force, had unhesitatingly used his own Speed Force to attack the projection of its Collective Consciousness.
This was a conversation that would drive countless people mad.
Many people took it for granted that a vast aggregate of matter like the Speed Force Wall was a naturally occurring Strange Energy, much like the Anti-Life Equation.
And yet, Savitar claimed he had created the Speed Force!
"Savitar... or should I use the name you abandoned long ago, the Knight of Justice, The Flash—Barry Allen... the one who created the Speed Force, the first to master it..."
From the Time Stream, another figure emerged, still bearing that same handsome face.
Behind Savitar's mask, his face was contorted with savagery and hatred. The electricity coursing over his body grew restless, crackling erratically, betraying his inner turmoil.
The words of the Speed Force's Collective Consciousness had stung him.
The Flash—a title worshipped by countless beings across the Multiverse. Barry Allen—a name respected by all Speedsters. He had abandoned them a long, long time ago.
The Flash... Barry Allen...
Those were his names from a long, long time ago.
Now, he called himself Savitar.
The God of Speed, who had destroyed countless universes and killed innumerable people who had once worshipped and loved him.
His foster father, his lover, his brothers, his friends, his daughter... everyone, killed by his own hand.
Even now, he could almost hear their cries of disbelief and weeping, their desperate pleas and reasoning, ringing in his ears.
Everything changed, starting with those he had once risked his life to protect. In the end, he hardened his heart, slaughtered those he had fought so hard to save, and killed the ones he loved, becoming utterly alone, with no ties left to the world.
He had buried The Flash with his own hands. Savitar, the God of Speed, was his rebirth, his everything.
It was a bloody scar.
And the Speed Force had just ripped it wide open.
"I created you, and I will destroy you with my own two hands!" Savitar said savagely.
The tall, intricate armor encasing him tightly was one of his few remaining comforts.
"You cannot. You are a part of the Speed Force," said the Collective Consciousness.
"Then I will not only destroy you, but I will also annihilate the Speed Force itself, so that the Speed Force will cease to exist across the Multiverse."
"I have returned. This time, you can forget about ever locking me in that hellhole again. I will turn that place into your tomb, where I will bury and utterly destroy you along with the Speed Force itself!"
The Speed Force's Collective Consciousness slowly departed. It was impossible to persuade Savitar to turn back.
Otherwise, the great war at the End of Time would never have broken out, and Savitar would not have remained imprisoned to this day.
The Time Stream closed, leaving nothing behind.
Everything returned to normal.
Savitar stood rooted to the spot, his head raised, lost in cold contemplation like a philosopher.
The Speed Force was powerless against him; it could not kill its own creator. Its greatest and most effective weapon, ironically, was something as laughable as the Time Wraiths.
He had already lost count of how many hundreds of millions of them he had killed.
He had an ambition: to become a true God, to exist in every corner of time, to become the omnipresent Sole Deity in control of all.
After slaughtering his family and friends, this was the only great goal left for him to pursue.
"The Prime Universe... the shifting timeline..."
Savitar whispered, and in a flash of light, his figure vanished.
