Chapter 182

Chapter 180: Soaring Ambition

Author: Great Demon Spirit

"You are not to speak ill of the Sorcerer Supreme. Without her, you would not have been able to grow up in peace. Everyone on Earth would have been devoured without a trace long ago," Wong scolded.

Tony shrugged and began to wander around the room. The numerous strange and peculiar artifacts were very eye-catching, and Tony was more than happy to study them.

"Can I meet the Sorcerer Supreme? I'd like to express my gratitude to her in person. Also, I have some questions I'd like to ask her," Tony asked suddenly, standing in front of a transparent display case.

"You can, but you'll have to find her yourself," Wong replied. "Kamar-Taj is located in the Himalayan Mountains. You need to find it on your own. If the Sorcerer Supreme wishes to see you, you will naturally be able to find it. If you are not worthy, then you naturally will not see her."

Tony nodded, not surprised. The Sorcerer Supreme had to constantly monitor the many dimensional gateways on Earth, periodically use the Time Stone to view countless future possibilities, and also spend time teaching her disciples. It was impossible for her to have ample time.

Tony only wanted to ask the Sorcerer Supreme about the mysteries of the Soul and how to create one. Even an incomplete Soul would do. His Dinobots were already restless, and it didn't matter if their intelligence was a bit low.

At the very least, he needed a path forward, unlike now, where he was rushing about aimlessly like a headless fly.

"The Himalayan Mountains? I'll remember that. At the same time, thank you again for saving me. I never want to go back to that godforsaken place again—unless I'm fortunate enough to learn the Magic of Kamar-Taj."

"You should thank the Sorcerer Supreme. If you get to meet her, you'll find she is a very easy person to talk to. Learning Magic is not something unacceptable," Wong said.

"That guy Kaecilius, if he attacks me next time, can you guys stop him in time?"

"I have already expanded the Space Monitoring Magic of this Sanctum Sanctorum. As long as you can ensure you don't die instantly, I can save you."

Tony shook his head. That was terrible news. Who knew when that damn sparkling Sling Ring would appear?

Inside the glass case Tony had been staring at for a long time, a red cloak floated, bobbing up and down, drifting near and far. It was very interesting, as if the cloak had emotions and a Soul.

This Cloak of Levitation was a super weapon. Not only could it attack and defend, but it also had self-awareness, making it equivalent to an extra helper. This cloak wasn't as weak as it was portrayed in the movies; it was capable of covering the entire Solar System, a super magical item. Among the many artifacts in Kamar-Taj, it was second only to the Eye of Agamotto.

Unfortunately, the cloak didn't seem interested in Tony. After a brief standoff, like two bulls locking horns, it immediately lost interest and turned its back to him, ignoring him.

No matter how Tony tried to entice it with words or by tapping on the glass, it refused to move again.

"It really dislikes you," Wong concluded.

Tony felt a wave of deflation. Did this Cloak of Levitation really have to wait for that Chosen One, Doctor Strange?

"I want to create something like this, too. I need to find the Sorcerer Supreme and learn from her the method of creating a Soul," Tony said.

Perhaps enraged by the word "thing," the Cloak of Levitation shot out of the glass and slammed viciously into Tony. At near-supersonic speed, it sent him flying to the ground.

Tony broke into a wide grin. A reaction was good; what he feared was no reaction. Getting angry was a response, wasn't it? This might just be a good start.

He wasn't as flamboyant as Doctor Strange. The man had barely done anything, and the cloak had shamelessly thrown itself at him. What a level of existence that was.

Wong was somewhat astonished. The Sorcerer Supreme had poured immense effort into creating this magical artifact; it was The Ancient One's highest magical creation. For so many years, it had been indifferent to everyone else. For it to show a rare emotion like anger was truly strange.

The Cloak of Levitation hovered in the air, as if in a fit of pique, deliberately floating higher than Tony. Its collar stood up stiffly, creating the illusion that an invisible person was wearing it, looking down on them from above.

Tony's eyes grew even brighter. A cloak that could get angry? He wouldn't believe it didn't have a Soul even if you beat him to death.

A paramecium is also a living being with its own consciousness, but to say that a paramecium has something as complex as a Soul would be going too far.

It understood anger and could clearly discern human language. Tony felt this thing must have its own Soul. It possessed the instinct to distinguish between "self" and "object."

Creating a Soul. Tony's face lit up with excitement. He still had no clue about this ability, but the Sorcerer Supreme did, and he could learn!

Tony cheerfully stood up from the floor. For every bit he rose in height, the Cloak of Levitation floated a bit higher. In short, it had to be higher than Tony no matter what, which was quite ostentatious.

"The Cloak of Levitation's speed can easily reach the speed of sound. You should be careful."

"It's fine, it's fine." Tony waved his hand dismissively, circling the red cloak with sounds of admiration. Wherever he walked, the cloak rotated in place to ensure it was always facing him.

Tony praised, "Don't worry, I won't get mad at a piece of clothing."

The cloak flew into a rage, whistling as it charged at Tony. The moment the well-prepared Tony dodged, the cloak whipped its collar at him, which he avoided by a hair's breadth.

"Damn it, this Cloak of Levitation is too monstrous. It's practically become a spirit," Tony said, his gaze on the cloak growing even more fervent.

Wong smiled and shook his head. "The Cloak of Levitation is older than your grandfather. Back in the day, it followed the Sorcerer Supreme into battle and killed countless deities, let alone someone like you."

Thinking about it, it made sense. Several hundred years ago, the Sorcerer Supreme, draped in this very cloak and holding the Eye of Agamotto, went door-to-door to slaughter her enemies, sending a host of deities fleeing in terror.

Tony tried to entice it for a while longer, but the cloak seemed genuinely angry. It floated directly back into its case and ignored Tony completely.

Tony stroked his chin, his eyes flashing with a fiery passion. For a moment, he wanted to roll up his sleeves and just snatch the cloak, but the thought of being slapped to death by the Sorcerer Supreme forced him to abandon the idea with great reluctance.

Besides, he might not even be a match for this piece of clothing. This red cloak was a divine artifact capable of wrapping up the entire Solar System. The current Tony truly lacked the ability to touch it.

Thinking this, he felt a twinge of jealousy toward Doctor Strange. Truly a Child of the Plane. He started with a Mentor (the Sorcerer Supreme), and his Golden Finger (the Cloak of Levitation) even came knocking on his door and threw itself at him.

This was why people always emphasized how dangerous Earth was. There were simply too many people with cheats. The sheer exaggeration of their overpowered traits and the illogical way they obtained them would make countless beings across the Multiverse want to bang their heads against a wall in frustration.

Compare goods, and one gets tossed; compare people, and one dies of anger.

And die of pure anger, at that.

Tony patted the non-existent dust off his clothes, gave the still-furious Cloak of Levitation one last, deep look, and resolutely pulled open the great doors of the Sanctum Sanctorum to depart.

Wong started to speak to stop him, but he was cut off by the ambitious Tony. The latter swaggered out the door, shutting it with a bang, filled with soaring ambition and an unyielding desire to obtain the method for creating a Soul.

Wong looked at the closed door with a helpless expression. "Actually, I was going to say you went through the wrong door. That one leads to the South American rainforest... Forget it, let him run back on his own. It'll serve as a good lesson for him. Even I don't dare to offend the Cloak of Levitation, yet you had the gall to curse at it."

South America. Tony stared dumbfoundedly at the endless dense jungle, an expression of utter exasperation on his face. A few monkeys leaped about nimbly, challenging the sudden intruder in their territory.

"What the fuck?!"
