Chapter 148: Wakanda War (1)
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Adamantium Alloy Technology was delivered to Tony in time.
There was both incomplete original Adamantium Alloy technology and complete second-generation Adamantium Alloy technology. In fact, Tony also wanted information related to Beta Adamantium Alloy—which is Wolverine's special Adamantium Alloy mixed with a Healing Factor.
But out of caution, he didn't request it; otherwise, he wouldn't be able to explain the source of the information. To get the Beta version Adamantium Alloy data, he could only seek out Stryker.
Technology and such were minor matters now. The entire Military's attention was drawn to Wakanda, that poor-but-rich country in Africa. Occupying Wakanda had become a consensus.
Four full-strength Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups had begun to assemble under the guise of exercises, and sixty thousand Elite Soldiers were secretly dispatched to a certain base. When the time came, they would be transported to Wakanda at the fastest speed.
Everything was for secrecy, to hide it from S.H.I.E.L.D. and other agencies. Even if S.H.I.E.L.D. noticed something was amiss, it had no reason, let alone the qualification, to intervene.
"Although there are only sixty thousand, the fully armed mechanized troops are still very intimidating... compared to other African natives."
Tony stood on an aircraft carrier, feeling the salty sea breeze. The humid air brushed against his face, and the boundless azure ocean stretched out, making one feel refreshed.
The endless sky and the seemingly infinite ocean merged into an expanse of blue. Rolling waves created foam, and tiny water droplets splashed against the massive aircraft carrier.
This was an unusual outing, or so everyone who knew the details thought. But they didn't know that they were stepping, little by little, into Hell.
"Tony, General Ross ordered you to go to his command center." A tall female soldier walked over to remind him, winking as she left.
Life at sea was incredibly monotonous; these soldiers naturally needed other forms of relaxation.
But Tony's mind wasn't on that. He tidied his military uniform, a mocking expression flashing across his face before vanishing. A fierce ruthlessness was deeply buried within him, not revealing the slightest bit.
The Machinist walked, following the wiggling hips of the female soldier.
In the command center, Ross was pointing at a map with other Generals and staff officers.
"Tony, for this war, I plan to send you as part of the first team to occupy Wakanda," Ross said.
"Me? A Military Advisor has to go to the battlefield?" Tony's expression remained unchanged, though he showed just the right amount of confusion.
Before setting off, he had been given the title of "Military Advisor." He had no real power, but he could speak up. For a special person like Tony, this was a position the Military gave him out of apprehension and caution.
"Your War Weapon is very suitable for this kind of occasion. You're unwilling? Don't forget, the ten thousand tons of Vibranium you demanded are still in the hands of those natives," General Ross said sternly.
He had never given up the idea of completely subjugating Tony. This time, drawing Tony into the Military system and having him accompany the army into battle was General Ross's plan. If Tony obeyed, there was a chance of subjugation. If he didn't, after securing the vast Vibranium Mine, they would have to consider how to purge disobedient superhumans like Tony.
With countless Vibranium, the Military could begin researching even more destructive weapons.
Tony was silent for a moment before saying with a bitter smile, "General, I never intended to participate in the war. I only wanted to seize the time to research Adamantium Alloy Technology. It's not that I haven't killed anyone, but almost every time it was in self-defense. This military operation, after all, is an invasion of a country that minds its own business..."
The other military officers in the meeting room showed a trace of mockery and disdain.
Ross stared at Tony with cold, stern eyes for a long time, then said in a clearly displeased tone, "Since that's the case, then you will be forced to participate in the operation."
Ross waved his hand, and Tony walked out of the meeting room with his head bowed.
Several staff members in the meeting room immediately took out a pile of observation instruments and began observing the walls, floor, and other surfaces.
"Are there any traces of Activation?"
"No, General, everything is normal."
Ross squinted, nodding with satisfaction. This was also a test. Tony's ability could definitely Animate an aircraft carrier, and if he had malicious intent, he would secretly Animate it.
An aircraft carrier was too colossal; even for a peak Level Three Tony, it would take some time.
"A boring test... Compared to this aircraft carrier, I value Wakanda's high-tech aircraft more."
Tony returned outside, quietly looking at the sea like a statue. He had considered whether the Military would drag him into the war. If they didn't invite him, he would calmly research Adamantium Alloy, waiting for the Military to be completely annihilated. If they did, he would focus his attention on Wakanda's high-tech capabilities.
If he could seize the opportunity to plunder some high-tech capabilities amidst the chaos, that would be even better.
"This is a good chance to observe how far Wakanda's Technology Tree has developed. The next time I come, it will be to completely conquer Wakanda."
Tony calculated that Wakanda's Vibranium Mine was too precious. Sooner or later, he would lay his hands on this place, completely seize the entire Vibranium Mine, and take it with him to the Cosmos.
Tony planned that once he reached Level Four, he would immediately deploy one million Transformer Legion to besiege and occupy Wakanda.
The four aircraft carriers, under the guise of exercises, arrived at a military base in North Africa, then changed course to Northeast Africa. Although Number One had recorded the specific location of that Tribe, it only indicated that the Tribe had a connection to Vibranium. The exact location of the Vibranium Mine still required capturing them and interrogating them.
Hmm, when the time comes, just give them a few broken guns as charity. A Tribe that still uses spears as weapons, their ignorance and backwardness are easily imagined.
Everything seemed to be developing positively.
Number One led a team, driving military vehicles, brazenly rushing towards the previously observed Tribe, at least to reclaim that head-sized Vibranium first.
And the location of the Vibranium Mine.
The Military's bigwigs were already considering how to deploy troops in this area, completely surrounding the Vibranium Mine, not allowing even a fly to enter.
Tony also attended the meeting, merely sitting quietly in a corner, listening in. Ross occasionally looked at him, his gaze inevitably carrying suspicion. This cunning old man always maintained a basic level of vigilance towards Tony, especially when Tony was behaving so low-key.
A few hours later, just as the officers were nearly done with their planning, the exploration team returned, with only Number One left, covered in blood.
Super Soldier Number One was bathed in blood, his two arms completely gone, his Regenerative Ability barely keeping him alive.
This horrific sight shocked everyone and enraged them all.
