Chapter 431

Chapter 429: Detonate the Bomb! A Complete Madman!

Deadpool, who never took integrity seriously, said in his sarcastic voice. Then, he added self-righteously, "We're not abandoning the fight, this is called a strategic retreat. Once I recover, we'll come back and settle the score."

Hearing Deadpool say that, Gambit was truly tempted. After all, one was a gambler and the other a mercenary working for money. From any angle, they had nothing whatsoever to do with superheroes who upheld justice and hated evil. Moreover, they weren't even Superheroes yet, so expecting them to fulfill the responsibilities and obligations of a Supe was simply unrealistic.

"Let's wait and see, Homelander might not necessarily lose." Compared to Deadpool, Gambit still had a bit of integrity left. He shook his head, casting aside all those unrealistic thoughts. "That guy's speed is very fast, we can only confront him head-on. There's no escaping."

"That makes sense, so can you hand me over to the Reporter next to you? Because in movies or TV series, reporters holding cameras usually have plot armor. If that guy called A-Train takes you out, maybe they can still get me out of here." Being talkative was Deadpool's passive ability. Even with just a head left, his mouth kept babbling non-stop.

"Catch!"

Gambit tossed Deadpool back to a Reporter behind him. Then, he took a deck of playing cards from his pocket. He brought his hands together, then pulled them apart sharply. The fifty-four cards printed with various patterns transformed into a long dragon emitting red light. In an instant, he shot the cards out, one by one.

"What time is it, and you're still showing off your skill here?" Deadpool, held in the Reporter's arms, couldn't help but curl his lip sarcastically when he saw Gambit's elegant attack posture.

The Reporter who caught him suppressed their physiological discomfort and didn't subconsciously throw out the talking head in their arms.

The playing cards, moving at extreme speed, blocked all of A-Train's routes of action around him. Then, they exploded with a bang, erupting in bursts of crimson red flames. Their power was no less than that of a grenade, and due to their large number, the explosive force was enough to destroy a small building.

"I don't believe you can withstand such an attack!" The incoming heatwave blew back Gambit's hood, making his long hair flutter behind him.

However, a figure suddenly rushed out from the flames and delivered a punch directly to Gambit's abdomen.

Suddenly, a severe pain, like muscle spasms, instantly spread throughout Gambit's whole body. He bent his back like a cooked shrimp and flew out, finally smashing hard into the nose of the airplane, leaving a human-shaped dent.

"Too weak. Are all of Jie Er Company's superheroes this caliber?" A-Train's suit, aside from being slightly scorched, wasn't even damaged. He revealed two rows of neat, white teeth and stepped forward to finish off Gambit, who still had a trace of life left.

However, he suddenly stopped and turned his head to look towards the Military Base.

He saw that from the Military Base, which resembled a giant chimney, a figure wearing a red cape shot into the sky. Their speed was as fast as lightning, and in the blink of an eye, they hovered above Butcher's head.

Before Butcher could react, a large, strong hand grabbed his head and plunged straight down!

Bang!! The two smashed into the massive building constructed of concrete and rebar like meteorites, disappearing from everyone's field of vision.

"Looks like Butcher got his ass kicked. I need to go check it out." A-Train abandoned Gambit and the others and went over to Victor. "Go help, or I'll smash you like I smashed that guy."

After speaking, he vanished in front of Victor with superspeed.

"Who are those guys?" Logan asked, his gaze serious, watching the departing A-Train. "They're a bunch of monsters."

Victor pushed off with his legs and followed in a beast-like posture.

Seeing this, Logan also followed behind him.

Meanwhile.

Quicksilver was trying to find a way to rescue the mutants in the cages. He grabbed two pieces of rebar and tried to bend them outwards, but the hard rebar didn't budge.

"The keys are on those guards," a silver-haired female mutant reminded him.

"Wait a moment."

At some point, a string of keys suddenly appeared in Quicksilver's hand. Using these keys, he opened the cages one by one.

But just then, he seemed to hear a series of explosions overhead, as if the entire ground was shaking.

"Get out of here quickly." He urged everyone to leave immediately.

"Thank you so much for coming to save us." A group of mutants, filled with the joy of being freed, repeatedly expressed their gratitude to Quicksilver.

"You're too slow, I'll take you out." Quicksilver activated his superpower and transported the mutants out one by one, like moving cargo.

On the other side, Stryker took a red button from his pocket and walked up to the reporters. He looked at Deadpool in surprise and exclaimed, "I've never seen such a tenacious mutant as you. You're still alive with just a head left."

"Old man, I advise you to run quickly, or when my boss finishes off Butcher and comes out, you'll be the next to die," Deadpool said dismissively.

"Run? Why would I run? I've placed bombs all over the base. Once I press this button..." Stryker's lips curved slightly upwards as he smiled and said, "Bang! The building will instantly collapse, and tens of thousands of tons of concrete will bury Homelander and Butcher completely."

"Stryker! Are you crazy?! There's a nuclear power plant nearby! If you cause a nuclear leak, you're dead for sure, not even God can save you." The Old General nearby was furious. He never expected Stryker to be this audacious. What made him even more panic-stricken was that he had been completely unaware of the bombs.

"The Military Base has been exposed. How could those guys in the White House possibly let me off? Instead of waiting for a Military Court, I might as well take a gamble. If I can take down Homelander and them, then I'll be a great hero of the United States." Stryker's smile was laced with madness. He raised his right arm and began the countdown. "Three! Two... One!!"

The button was pressed, and it was as if even time stopped for a moment. The next second, the earth trembled! The massive Military Base gradually began to collapse amidst the sound of explosions. Vicious cracks erupted at the base of the towering outer walls, and one could even see lava-like fire light bursting forth from within.

Boom!!! Sounds like muffled thunder echoed continuously. Under the gaze of the soldiers and reporters, the cylindrical building hundreds of meters away fell like collapsing dominoes, becoming a pile of broken ruins amidst the rising giant mushroom cloud!

"What the f*ck..." The dumbfounded Deadpool subconsciously let out a curse.
