Chapter 871 Sportsmaster and Illuminati
‘Hold on, Aqualad.’
Robin shouted in the Mind Link. Only an idiot would choose to retreat at this critical moment.
‘An Aircraft has landed on the Hangar Deck outside. It's very likely some Big Shots have arrived.’
After saying this, Robin focused intently on the Screen, afraid of missing any Details.
After a few Seconds, the Cabin Door of the Flying Vehicle slowly opened, and a burly Male Figure was exposed to everyone's Field of Vision.
Ice Ball Mask, a specially made Uniform. This unique attire allowed Robin to recognize the person at a glance.
"Sportsmaster?" Robin revealed an unbelievable Expression. "How could it be him?"
Habby, standing behind Robin, remained silent. Unlike the former, he knew some of the Plot. Although he had forgotten most of it due to Time, he still remembered some of the more memorable Things.
For example, Sportsmaster, this person was originally just a second-rate Villain, but in the Young Justice League Universe, he latched onto the Illuminati as a Heavy Hitter. Plus, he was Artemis's Dad, so Yang Le had a deep impression of him.
It had been several years since Yang Le last reviewed "Young Justice League", but based on the Memory in his Brain and the Information searched within Saint Prisca Island, it was enough for Yang Le to deduce an Answer.
From King Snake personally leading the Cobra Cult members to greet Sportsmaster, it could be seen that the two were definitely in cahoots, and in a superior-subordinate relationship.
As someone who helps the Illuminati with Business, Sportsmaster basically couldn't move to a certain place casually. And Saint Prisca Island, a place with scarce Resources, obviously only had one Thing of Value that could attract the Illuminati's Gaze.
Cobra Venom, this latest Enhancement Serum, it was clear that Sportsmaster had come for this Thing. Yang Le glanced at the Screens from other Camera Perspectives again.
Sure enough, in another Screen that could see the Hangar Deck, a pile of packed Boxes was in a Corner, placed on a Cart.
The Factory's Cameras did not have a sound recording Function. Even if they did, it would be impossible to hear what these people were saying from this Distance. However, judging by their actions, King Snake should be chatting with Sportsmaster.
After the two talked for a while, accompanied by King Snake's Hand gesture, a Subordinate pushed a Cart over. There was only one large Box on this Cart, unlike other Carts that were stacked particularly high. It should be for inspection purposes.
King Snake opened the Box. Thanks to the sufficient clarity of the Cameras, Robin and Habby could clearly see the Cobra Venom inside the Box, neatly placed in Clear Jars.
That strange Purple Color was really too conspicuous, exactly the same Color as recorded in the Information.
"Sportsmaster is the superior of the Cobra Cult? How is that possible?"
Robin was shocked again. It's not that he looked down on... okay, he did look down on Sportsmaster a bit. In his impression, this person was just a Mercenary who worked for money, and not even the top-tier kind.
It's really not Robin's fault, because the Justice League's Database has a definition for various Super Villains. Sportsmaster's definition is a second-rate Mercenary. Unless hired, he would only do things like robbing Banks.
But to take over the Cobra Cult to produce Enhancement Serum that could arm an Army, this Thing did not seem like something Sportsmaster could do.
Sportsmaster's Brain, Funds, ambition, etc., could not support him in carrying out a Big Case of this Level. Therefore, Robin speculated that Sportsmaster was just a errand runner, and there must be a real Big Fish behind him.
'Wait!' When Robin re-examined the obtained Information, he suddenly felt as if his Brain had been struck by lightning, he looked at Habby beside him and said softly.
"Juggernaut Serum, Illuminati?"
Robin connected the Information and got the Answer without anyone reminding him.
Yang Le nodded in satisfaction in his Heart. Although he couldn't remember it very clearly, he vaguely remembered that the Illuminati were exposed to the Justice League's Line of Sight relatively late.
And in this Universe, because Habby mentioned the Illuminati when he first joined the Justice League, although the Justice League didn't know the true nature of this Organization, they still created a related Folder waiting to be filled.
And Robin, because of his usual reading volume of various Information, connected all of this. It can only be said that although Dick is not a Bat-brat famous for deduction, he also has his merits.
'It seems like their doing.' Habby nodded. Although his tone was uncertain, he had actually agreed with Robin's deduction.
'This is really a Big Fish now.' Cold sweat dripped from Robin's Forehead. This indeed exceeded the scope they could handle.
Seeing that staying any longer wouldn't gather any useful Information, Robin prepared to retreat. Just as he was about to notify Habby, he heard a Sound from the Sound System next to the Control Center.
"Calling Control Center, have you discovered any Unusualness?"
This Sound startled Robin for a moment, and then he immediately shouted in the Mind Link.
'Retreat!'
...
"Calling Control Center! Calling Control Center!"
A Cobra Cult member kept shouting into the Walkie-talkie. After calling four or five times in a row without a Response, he immediately realized there was a Problem and hurriedly walked to King Snake, who was talking with Sportsmaster.
King Snake saw the Subordinate's Unusualness Expression and knew there was a Problem. He listened to the Subordinate whispering that there was a Problem in the Control Center, and the first Thing he thought of was Bane coming back to kill them.
"What about the Cobra Cult members sent out on patrol?" King Snake asked. His tone was Peaceful, as if Everything was under Control.
"They also haven't responded for a while." Sweat dripped from the Subordinate's Forehead. "I'll go ask now."
"Looks like you're in Trouble." Sportsmaster heard the conversation between the two. "Do you need my Help?"
As Sportsmaster spoke, he subconsciously put the Serum that had just been handed to him for inspection into his Fanny Pack. He also thought that the original Master of the Factory had come back to kill them, and immediately drew his special Baseball Bat from his Back.
"No need for you to take action, sir. I should be able to handle this Business." King Snake declined. "Of course, if you have Time, you can come and take a look, and offer some Guidance."
...
Under King Snake's Guidance, the group arrived at the Control Center of the Factory. This was the place where the Problem was first discovered, so the Investigation would definitely start from here.
After the Gate of the Control Center opened, King Snake smelled a faint Smell. He frowned, then cast his Gaze Indoor, and the first Thing he saw was two Cobra Cult members lying on the Ground.
Without King Snake's Command, two Cobra Cult members immediately walked up to check on their Partner's Situation. After a simple check, they Reported.
"They've just fallen asleep. They should have inhaled some Anesthetic Gas."
