Chapter 829: Asgard's Funeral

With the help of the Green Lanterns maintaining public security, the nations on Earth could finally devote themselves wholeheartedly to disaster relief and reconstruction work.

Of course, initially, many people did not believe in weapons that could judge the human heart. With Hyperion leading the Squadron Supreme as a 'precedent', the general public, especially the surviving Americans, did not have much confidence in this new group of vigilantes.

Initially, some younger Green Lanterns expressed feeling hurt; after all, they were genuinely risking their lives to protect Earth, but after Peter and Amadeus enlightened them, they all felt relieved.

"The key is not what we explain, but what we do," Peter thought for a moment before explaining to the Lantern Corps members around him.

"The reputation of the Squadron Supreme was not accumulated in specks, nor was it ruined overnight. As long as we keep doing the right thing, I believe the world will eventually change their views on us."

Peter did not expect that the words he said today would become one of the guidelines for the Green Lanterns, but just like he said, it's up to human effort. With the Green Lanterns' dedication, their reputation is indeed improving in specks.

And along with their reputation rising steadily, so did the state of the people of various nations. This was because the Green Lanterns discovered that basically one Green Lantern could control a nation, and even with substitutes, three people would be enough.

And they had a full five thousand people, which was a serious waste of manpower. Subsequently, under the planning of the brainpower faction led by Amadeus, the manpower of the Lantern Corps was redistributed.

In order to cope with potential danger, one thousand Green Lanterns were used for public security protection, and the rest were all put into the reconstruction work of Earth.

This plan greatly accelerated the speed of reconstruction. After all, Green Lanterns were really too versatile. One Green Lantern was equivalent to a decoration team.

Civil engineering veterans who understood building were responsible for handling professional things, and those who didn't understand went to work as laborers, responsible for clearing garbage, moving heavy objects, and solving the problem of dangerous buildings.

By the way, it may be because of this people-friendly move that the public reputation of the Green Lanterns rapidly improved.

It only took two days for those nations originally destroyed by the flames of war to rebuild cities that could accommodate nationals to live in. If it weren't for resources being a bit behind the speed of reconstruction, the speed might have been even faster.

Speaking of resource problems, because of the Green Lanterns' suppression, coupled with the intention of various nations in the world to maintain the status quo, the international money exchange rate actually did not change much, only the US dollar fell a little, and of course, it didn't fall much.

The economic system did not collapse, and resources from all aspects could barely keep up. By the way, after Tony Stark learned about the business his dad had done, he sold Stark Industries.

Of course, the company is now worthless. What Tony sold were the truly valuable patents and design blueprints and other miscellaneous things within the group.

Tony was not trying to make a quick buck before his group completely collapsed. He subsequently donated the money he obtained from the sale, plus all of his own liquid funds. There was no way around it; fixed assets were all burned clean with America, and he couldn't sell them even if he wanted to.

And Zheng Xian made a fortune at this time. That's right, Tony's buyer was him, or rather the S.H.I.E.L.D.. Originally, Tony didn't want to find people from other nations, but the condition Zheng Xian offered him was really too generous.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was willing to be fully responsible for Howard Stark's treatment. Yes, Howard was blown into the sky, but he didn't die. The Iron Man armor on his body, blessed by the Heaven Hammer, saved his life. Of course, he was still injured.

Now, there are only a handful of nations on Earth that can provide the safest and most advanced treatment, but the only one Tony might trust is probably this one; after all, his hometown is still a pile of ruins.

Of course, Tony is not an idiot. He didn't sell the foundation of Stark's existence, only bought some things that were not so important, but Zheng Xian was also very satisfied. Compared to before, what difference is there between these things and picking them up for free?

The trauma brought to Earth by the War of the Realms is recovering in specks. Civilization has once again revived on this blue planet. Yes, the first facility to be reconstructed was the hospital, followed by the school.

Yang Le didn't expect that the saying "even if it's the end of the world, you still have to go to school" was not a joke.

However, education resources are limited, so although schools were reconstructed, they were not very useful. In the end, the government decided to have all the children in the nation take online classes at home.

Gwen and Katie, who had been away from school for a long time, once again returned to the ocean of knowledge, which is truly gratifying.

Gwen said it was nothing; after all, she had already self-studied all the high school courses. Katie, on the other hand, frowned into a bitter face. She was a slow learner.

However, she was not sad for too long, because Gwen promised to tutor her, but only after the funeral of Asgard.

Three days of time passed quickly. Gwen handed over her online class to Xue Bao to be responsible for, and then followed Yang Le onto the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard.

The two of them learned about the customs of Asgard in advance and found that there was nothing particularly elaborate about the funeral. Then, according to the customs of Earth, they put on black suits to attend the funeral.

Thor did not agree to Zheng Xian's request. He said that he did not want to talk about some unimportant business in this scene, but the relationship with Earth would still be maintained as before.

The Funeral of Asgard was similar to ancient European and American court-style funerals. After all, Odin had already returned to the land of Asgard first, so this funeral was just a ritual.

Solemn and respectful, this was the impression of the Asgard Funeral on Yang Le. The usually jovial and carefree Asgardians had all changed their face at this time, but no one in the entire nation shed a tear.

This was not because they did not love the previous God King (Odin), but because glorious death in battle in Asgard was a business worth celebrating. If you shed tears at this time, it would mean you look down on the warriors who gloriously went to their death.

The ritual was proceeding in an orderly manner, but Gwen was a little out of state, always quietly looking around her surroundings. Yang Le initially thought she was just curious, but later, seeing her frequent movements, he asked through telepathy.

'Why haven't I seen Loki?'

Although the two had only briefly interacted, the bold and love-seeking Asgardian princess still left a deep impression on her. Therefore, Gwen was the first to notice Loki's absence.

Yang Le decided to wait until after the funeral to tell Gwen about the love and hatred in the Asgardian Courtyard, to prevent her from exclaiming in surprise during the funeral. Now, he could only fool her for now.

Looking at Thor, who was presiding over the funeral, he didn't know how he viewed his sister now.
