Chapter 823: Shadow of Blank Space

In the original prophecy, the Asgardian Crown Prince would fight with Fear God Great Serpent. In the end, the Crown Prince would kill Great Serpent, and then he himself would be poisoned and die after taking a few steps due to the venom.

This story was originally about Jörmungandr and Thor in the Real Universe. Marvel does have Jörmungandr, but the writers placed this well-known story in Europe and America onto the original character Great Serpent Kur.

Having said so much, what I want to express is that Great Serpent's venom has the same characteristics as Jörmungandr in mythology: it is extremely fast-acting, and even Asgardians cannot resist it.

Even God King Odin, who possesses Odin Force, could only last a little longer at most.

Odin looked solemnly at the wound on his waist. The wound no longer felt pain at this point. If it weren't for the loss of life energy in his body and the gradual breakdown of his physical function, Odin might have forgotten he was injured.

Asgardians are not afraid of death, and Odin, who possesses supreme Divine Power, is no exception. No matter the situation, Odin could face death with courage.

But he absolutely could not die in this way. As the God King of Asgard, the most powerful being in the Nine Realms, he couldn't just find a pit and jump in like an ordinary person, bury himself with soil, close his eyes, and lie there waiting for death.

He was God King, and endless power was hidden inside his body. To use a saying from Midgard, he was a treasure from head to toe.

Whether it was his physical body or soul, even a fur falling into the hands of someone with ulterior motives could have unexpected uses, and the same was true for his elder brother Great Serpent.

If he were in Asgard, he could confidently entrust the aftermath to his tribesmen, but that wouldn't work in Midgard.

Odin was certain that if he closed his eyes and lay down now, many things would emerge from the dark corners. At that point, not only Midgard, but the entire universe would be threatened.

Not to mention anything else, just consider Hela, who was in Midgard not long ago. The mistress of Helheim had been coveting his soul for a long time. Although she was repelled, she wasn't fundamentally harmed, and who knew if she would return.

As for those bastards lurking in the darkness, not to mention them. They were probably already thinking about how to divide up his body.

"A bunch of hyenas..." Odin cursed under his breath.

"Heimdall, teleport me and Great Serpent away."

As soon as he spoke, a colorful light curtain descended from the sky, enveloping them both. Dust flew up for a time. When everything settled, Odin and Great Serpent had vanished without a trace.

After a while, until a wisp of ordinary breeze blew past, a soldier came back to his senses. He looked up and murmured softly, but because no one was speaking at the scene, his words reached everyone's ear.

"Is it really over this time?"

Except for the breeze stirring up dust, no one could answer his question.

...

In a blank space far from the Universe, Yang Le, who had become a Nalgian, stood there. He hadn't chosen to return to Earth and tear through space just to come here.

This space was no less significant than any realm in the Ten Realms. Yang Le, transformed into a Nalgian, could keenly sense the difference between this place and the outside world. In his eyes as a 26-Dimension Human, the structure here was vastly different from the outside world.

Unlike the colorful world outside, this place was like a blank sheet of paper. Everything was so boring, just like the masters who managed it.

Yang Le turned his head and cast his line of sight behind him. Although it was blank space just like everywhere else, Yang Le seemed to see something and was scrutinizing it.

From the perspective of a 26-Dimension Human, behind Yang Le sat a group of enormous figures composed of white and gray shadows.

There were five figures in total. Each figure was enormous in body size; even the smallest was the size of a mountain.

From their appearance, they looked like replicas of the Asgardian Gods. The one on the far left wore a Bull Horn Helmet like Heimdall and was clad in heavy armor.

The one beside him resembled Thor, also wearing a helmet with wings and a wide cape made of shadows.

Yang Le couldn't find a counterpart for the one on the far right. He wore a helmet with a pair of small horns, a stark contrast to the Large Horn Cow opposite him.

Next to the Small Horn Cow sat a shadow that strongly resembled Loki, with a female appearance, wearing a mask on her face, and with an inscrutable expression.

These shadows surrounded the one seated in the very center, the largest shadow. He seemed to be the strongest and most important, as his appearance was almost a replica of Odin.

A face full of beard, a helmet with two long feathers—even Odin himself would be taken aback.

But unlike the Asgardian Gods, these shadows had no color. They looked like simple line drawings on white paper.

Of course, this was just how these pretentious things looked from a normal perspective. Yang Le could see much more by shifting his perspective.

However, seeing them was enough. Yang Le really didn't want to see those abstract things composed of various things again—they looked like something Junji Ito or Go Nagai would draw.

Just looking at these things for too long would give you nightmares. Who said low-dimension humans would go insane upon seeing high-dimension humans? Wasn't his experience the complete opposite?

"Impudent fool."

Just as Yang Le was feeling disgusted, the shadow that looked much like Thor spoke.

"Who permitted you to gaze directly upon the noble body of God Above Gods? You should kneel, and then..."

"Bullshit."

Yang Le interrupted the shadow's words with a gesture in the air. The latter froze mid-sentence, as if someone had pressed a pause button, remaining in that gesture, unable to move.

"I've been polite. You should be burning incense in gratitude that I didn't kill you all the moment I made my entrance. And you're still putting on airs with me, you clueless things."

The ability Yang Le casually displayed clearly frightened these shadows. Except for the shadow in the very center, who resembled Odin, the others all showed expressions of surprise.

"Unfamiliar Guest," the Odin shadow spoke. "While we may have spoken wrongly, the fact remains that you are at fault for intruding directly into our domain."

"I came in, so what are you going to do about it?" Yang Le spread his hands, adopting a confrontational stance.

That was his personality. He would try to reason with people he cared about, but with those he didn't, like this group, he preferred a more direct, less talkative approach.

The Odin shadow was silent for a moment before speaking again.

"We wish to avoid unnecessary struggle and are willing to share the upcoming feast with you."
