Chapter 742 Frost Giant Riot
Yang Le, after learning that Han Yamei and the others had encountered Frost Giants, immediately set off for Jamsil Gymnasium. When he arrived, he witnessed the scene of Laufey charging towards Lei Ling with an Axe.
If his calculations hadn't indicated that Dan Bi would arrive in time, he would have personally intervened to save Lei Ling.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Yang Le also began to assess the extraordinary Giant. From the Giant's self-proclaimed title, he knew that this Giant before him was none other than the ruler of Jotunheim, Giant King Laufey.
This was beyond his expectations. He truly hadn't anticipated Laufey's personal descent to Earth. This made what was originally a simple Mission's difficulty skyrocket, to the point where Han Yamei and the others might be unable to handle it.
Giant King Laufey, as a Ruler of a Realm who existed in the same era as Odin, could not be contended with by Lei Ling and the others alone, even a weakened Laufey.
Frost Giants were a very special Race. Their Body Size and Strength were almost directly proportional; the larger the Body Size, the greater the Strength. Their current height of less than four meters was due to acclimatization issues.
Frost Giants were highly dependent on their Environment. Only extreme climates like Jotunheim were comfortable for them. Ordinary Creatures exposed to Jotunheim for even a Second would be frozen into an Ice Sculpture.
In Jotunheim, these Frost Giants were terrifying Giant Beasts, each nearly a hundred meters tall. However, on Earth, they became small dwarfs of three to four meters. The contrast was enormous.
This meant that the Giants' current Strength was less than ten percent of their original power. If they were ordinary Frost Giants, Lei Ling and the others could easily handle them with proper coordination. But with Laufey in the mix, it was different.
Even if Laufey currently possessed only one-tenth of his Peak Condition Power, it was still beyond what Lei Ling and the others could deal with. Just from that Axe strike, it was clear that Laufey's Speed was far too fast for them.
Simply put, Laufey at this moment was like a small Superman who couldn't fly. Such Enemies were the most troublesome. It wasn't about being outstanding in one Aspect, but about having no weaknesses at all.
For Han Yamei and the others, defeat was only a matter of Time. Therefore, Yang Le contacted Frank Castle. The weakened Laufey was a formidable Enemy for Frank, but not insurmountable. He was the perfect touchstone, and it would be a waste not to utilize him.
Frank Castle received Yang Le's Notification and simply replied, "Be there soon," before falling silent. At the same Time, a significant change occurred on the Battlefield.
Dan Bi and Xiong Ling Ai Ou combined their Strength, managing only to slightly push Laufey's Axe away. However, this small Distance saved Lei Ling's life. The ferocious Giant Axe grazed Lei Ling's Body and crashed into the Ground.
"Bang!" A deafening sound was followed by an earth-shattering tremor. Driven by Laufey's Great Strength, half of the Axe Blade of the Giant Axe embedded itself directly into the Ground. The Land cracked, and the Ground split open, forming a gash over ten meters long that continued to spread.
"Not bad Force." Laufey effortlessly pulled the Axe from the Ground, looking approvingly at Dan Bi, who was shaking her Hand. "Even among Laufey's Kin, few can withstand Laufey's Axe strikes. You Little Girl are quite decent."
Watching the relaxed Laufey, Dan Bi felt a pang of bitterness in her Heart. Her Punch just now wasn't just her full Strength; she had even incorporated the Force Exertion Technique taught by her master from Kunlun. Yet, even with both combined, she had only managed to move Laufey's Axe a few centimeters.
Despite her lack of confidence, Dan Bi refused to show any sign of weakness in her Words, retorting immediately, "You haven't seen anything yet that'll truly surprise you."
"Oh?" Laufey raised a Brow slightly. "Then Laufey shall wait and see."
After saying this, Laufey didn't Attack immediately. Instead, he turned his Head to issue an Order to the other Frost Giants.
"Leave this Aspect to Laufey. You lot, go outside and cause as much chaos as you like. The bigger the commotion, the better."
The remaining Frost Giants agreed in unison and strode towards the Aspect where Tony had departed moments ago. Being unfamiliar with this Aspect, they could only follow in the Footsteps of those who had come before.
"Don't even think about it!" Zhu Er shouted sternly, throwing the Trident in her Hand towards the group of Giants.
However, the golden Trident had only flown halfway when it was intercepted by an even faster Shadow. It was Laufey. He dashed a few steps to the Inevitable Path of the Trident and used his Axe to knock it away.
"Don't be too presumptuous, Midgardian," Laufey said, resting the Giant Axe on his Shoulder, slightly raising his Head to look down at everyone present.
"You are facing the emperor of Jotunheim, Giant King Laufey! And yet, you still have the leisure to concern yourselves with others? Are you looking down on Laufey?"
With each Word Laufey spoke, the Indoor temperature dropped further. By the Time he finished, Frost had already formed in many Aspects of the House.
Zhu Er and Lei Ling's Bodies trembled uncontrollably, not from Fear, but from the biting cold.
Their current Battle Suits were standard issue from S.H.I.E.L.D., unsuitable for combat in extreme climates. A degree or two below freezing would be manageable, but the Indoor temperature was clearly far lower now.
In contrast, Dan Bi's Battle Suit, granted by her Mask, though seemingly thin, possessed numerous subtle functions and could withstand the current Low Temperature.
Han Yamei, however, was different. She wasn't a normal Human. The three Tails behind her clearly indicated she wasn't of the Human Race.
Han Yamei slowly exhaled a breath of cold Qi. Her Body turned, her Humanoid form gradually vanishing. In the blink of an Eye, she transformed into a White Fox as large as a Horse. The three Tails behind her were no longer illusory but had become Substance.
After transforming into a White Fox, Han Yamei chanted incantations. Two beams of White Light erupted from her Body, merging into Lei Ling and Zhu Er's Bodies. Both immediately felt a warm current surge through them, from the inside out, stopping their shivering from the cold.
"Quick battle, quick resolution. My Magic won't last long," Han Yamei reminded them, then lunged towards Laufey.
Seeing the Giant Beast pouncing at him, Laufey merely grinned, raised his Axe, and swung it down, seemingly about to cleave Han Yamei in two.
Han Yamei's Eyes flashed with White Light. As her Tails swayed, three streams of burning White Energy slammed towards Laufey. At the same Time, she bared her sharp White Teeth.
Faced with the White Energy that burned like Flame, Laufey couldn't help but frown. He immediately exerted Force with both Hands, altering the Trajectory of his Axe to deflect the Flame. Then, releasing the Axe Handle with his Left Hand, he grabbed Han Yamei, who was trying to bite him.
