Chapter 677 Meeting in the Throne Room
Thor and his group moved quickly, or perhaps it was because the Rainbow Bridge had some special properties. In any case, they reached the city, which had seemed far away just a moment ago, in a very short time.
Before they even finished crossing the Rainbow Bridge underfoot, various buildings resembling Nordic style already came into view.
It was said to be close to Nordic style because the building materials used to construct these buildings were not ordinary stone and reinforced concrete, but something similar to metal.
Of course, it's not that there were no ordinary materials, but the utilization rate of these materials was relatively low, with more of the metal-like materials being used.
The style was like a mix of ancient Nordic architectural style and some near-future style. Some places were very simple, but others were overly complicated, dazzling to the eye.
"What do you think?" Thor stood in front of Asgard City. "This is Asgard City. Isn't it beautiful and magnificent?"
"Um," Gwen pondered for a while before saying, "It's very artistic."
Yang Le carefully examined Asgard before him. It had some similarities to Asgard in the movie, and some similarities to the one in the comics, looking like a mix of the two.
'Maybe it's because I created this universe. Because it was built according to Asgard in my subconscious, that's why this messy mix-and-match style appeared.'
Yang Le explained to himself in his heart. It was really because you couldn't say that Asgard in front of him was not beautiful, but it could only be said to have an artistic graffiti aesthetic, a little bit abstract.
Yang Le could only say, "It's a bit different from what I imagined, but it is indeed a magnificent city."
"I knew you'd say that. After all, the architectural style of Asgard is completely different from the current architectural style of Midgard. In fact, Midgard in the past had buildings similar to Asgard."
Thor didn't seem to care at all, and pulled Yang Le and Gwen into the city.
"The Prince is back!"
"Look, look! It's Prince Thor. He has once again completed the mission assigned by the great King Odin."
"Which army did the mighty Prince defeat this time?"
As soon as they entered the city, Yang Le understood what a real welcoming crowd was. The people who were originally going about their life all dropped what they were doing and cheered for Thor as soon as they saw him.
It could be seen that Thor was very loved by the common people. The worship in the people's eyes did not seem fake. This should not be a pre-arranged act by the crowd.
Thor waved to the people, and then said loudly, "Alright, go back to your business. This time I just completed a relatively small mission, and there was no army for me to defeat."
Some sharp-eyed people also noticed Yang Le and Gwen. Thor brushed it off by calling them guests. These cute people then cheered for Yang Le and Gwen as well, allowing them to fully feel the enthusiasm of the Asgardian.
Yang Le also followed Thor's example and thanked the people around him. Then he turned to look at Gwen and found that she was also imitating him. Just from her sparkling eyes, he could see that she was very satisfied with the beginning of this Asgard trip.
Because of the crowd, the three of Yang Le stopped and started along the way. During this time, they also received many gifts from the Asgardian people, all of which were some characteristic food or drinks, liquor, and the like. Of course, there were also some trinkets mixed in.
These trinkets were mostly carvings or weaponry. Asgardian people were martial-spirited, so giving weaponry as gifts was within the normal range for them.
But these weaponry truly broadened Yang Le and Gwen's horizons. Thor saw the awkward scene of the two and laughed heartily.
"This is Asgard!" Thor shouted heroically. He had shouted this more than once on the way.
"Yes! Prince!" The people of Asgard responded to Thor with an even louder sound. They had also responded to Thor like this more than once.
By the time they reached the interior of Asgard, Yang Le and Gwen could no longer hold any more in their hands. Packages and weaponry of all sizes filled their arms. The two of them looked like Christmas trees full of gifts at Christmas.
"Let the gifts be handed over to the soldiers first," Thor said with a smile, summoning a few soldiers. "They will store the gifts first, and you can take them with you when you leave."
"Thank you, thank you," Yang Le sincerely thanked the soldiers who had rescued him from dire straits. He was extremely grateful that he had become an Asgardian, otherwise he might have been crushed before even reaching Asgard.
Gwen stretched her shoulders. She didn't feel heavy, but these gifts were of different sizes and too fragmented. When there were too many, hanging them on her body inevitably made her feel tired.
After thanking the soldiers, Yang Le and Gwen followed Thor deeper into Asgard. Along the way, stopping and starting, Thor kept explaining the origins and history of various Asgard decorations to them.
Not only Gwen, but even Yang Le, who had some understanding of Asgard, listened with great interest. After all, these trivial details would not be explained to the readers in the comics.
The group spent a little time before finally reaching the Hall. The two rows of soldiers in the Great Hall Corridor finally showed the valiant side of the Asgardian.
Soldiers who did not smile and stood as straight as spears could always play a good deterrent role.
The three walked to the door of the Hall. Two soldiers standing in front of the door silently pushed open the door of the Hall after seeing Thor. Suddenly, everything opened up, and the solemn Throne Room was displayed in front of Yang Le and Gwen.
Two groups of soldiers stood on either side. The red carpet underfoot extended all the way to the throne under the Hall. A burly, single-eyed old man stood in front of the throne, and next to him stood a middle-aged woman wearing a blue dress.
"King! Queen!" Thor quickly walked to the throne. "Your child has returned after completing the mission."
"Very good, Thor," Odin nodded. "You have indeed never let me down. I can rest assured entrusting anything to you."
Compared to the majesty of Odin, Frigga acted more like an ordinary woman. She slowly walked down from the throne and came to Thor, wiping his face and tidying up his armor.
"Welcome back, my child," Frigga said with a gentle smile. "Midgard of today is different from our impression of it back then. It's hard for you to complete the mission so quickly."
"After all, I am a child who can make you proud." Thor did not feel ashamed of his Queen's concern. He held Frigga's hand and said softly.
Thor did not forget his mission. He quickly let go of Frigga's hand and presented Yang Le and Gwen to everyone.
"King, Queen, this is the Asgardian who inherited the Godhood of the God of War."
