Chapter 527 Red Lantern Demon VS Hyperion (1)
Yang Le had once seen a metaphor for Lantern Rings before transmigrating, and he thought it was very accurate.
That is, a Lantern Ring is like a mobile phone – powerful, but it must be recharged. A Small Lantern Furnace is like a power bank – its energy storage isn't high, but it can replenish energy at critical moments.
The Big Lantern Furnace is the main power source, with immense energy, capable of recharging both the Lantern Ring and Small Lantern Furnace. The Lantern Entity, on the other hand, is the generator responsible for providing a constant stream of energy to the Big Lantern Furnace.
But in the Marvel Universe, let alone Big and Small Lantern Furnaces, there isn't even a single Lantern Entity. This means Frank's Energy is finite and depletes with use. Yang Le guessed this was also why Frank was riding a car instead of using Flight.
Right now, the Lantern Ring is essentially a disposable item. And in Yang Le's opinion, the Power of the Lantern Ring was just okay. Only the Blue Lantern and Purple Lantern were slightly interesting; he didn't have much interest in the others.
However, although Lantern Rings differ greatly due to the different Emotional Energy they utilize, their underlying logic is interconnected. Only by studying the Red Lantern Ring could Yang Le create other Lantern Rings using his own Power.
Lantern Corps members are an excellent choice for subordinates. As long as they possess the corresponding Emotion, even a pile of slugs could become powerful Warriors.
But before that, Yang Le first needed to figure out how to solve the Power supply issue for the Lantern Ring. Without Lantern Entity Power Generation, relying solely on their own Emotional Energy, Lantern Corps members would struggle to unleash their full Strength. They needed a stable Energy source.
And Yang Le had just thought of a stable source of Red Lantern Energy.
…
"Report, General."
Glenn stood at the Tent entrance, saluting and awaiting the Order from the Big Shots inside.
"Come in."
Having received the Order, Glenn walked straight into the Tent. As soon as he entered, he saw General Ross sitting in a Chair, exhaling large plumes of Smoke.
"What is it, Glenn?" General Ross stubbed out his Cigarette and glanced at the Time on his Watch, realizing it was already daytime.
"New York City has been quiet for a while now. According to News reported by Colonel Bridge, who is still alive, a group of Superhumans suddenly appeared in the City and dealt with all the Giants. The Reconnaissance Force we sent out just now also returned with News confirming that the City is indeed safe."
"City?" General Ross scoffed. "It's going to be hard to find a Building still standing in there. I never thought New York would come to this."
Glenn lowered his head, not daring to respond. Some Words were only for the Leader to say; Subordinates could only pretend they hadn't heard.
"What was that Light that erupted just now?" General Ross didn't delve deeper into that Topic. After all, if the City was gone, it could be rebuilt, and maybe he could even find some Benefits for himself in all this.
"Doctor Banner was taken back to rest by Miss Betty." Glenn gave an awkward Expression. "Mr. Howard is currently conducting Research with the other Doctors, but 24 hours of non-stop Work has slightly reduced their efficiency."
"Girls are hard to keep once they grow up," General Ross sighed. He then reached for another Cigarette, only to find his Cigarette Case was already empty. Looking at the ashtray beside him, he was surprised to realize he'd smoked quite a lot today.
"Shall I get you a pack of Cigarettes, sir?" Glenn saw what Ross meant and immediately asked.
"No need," Ross said, casually tossing aside the Cigarette Case. "I have smoked a bit too much. Looking at that ashtray, I can feel it in my Lung. Have someone bring me Breakfast later; I've still got a mountain of Business to deal with."
"Understood!" Glenn saluted and turned to leave, but noticed another Soldier running quickly towards them from outside.
Glenn naturally stepped forward, blocking the Soldier's Charge, and asked sternly, "What is it?"
"Report!" As soon as the Soldier saw it was Glenn, General Ross's Confidant, he immediately stopped, saluted, and said.
"Just now, a Drone spotted an unidentified object approaching the Military Camp at an alarming Speed."
"An unidentified object with amazing Speed?" Ross stepped out of the Tent. "Is it Hyperion?"
"No, General," the Soldier shook his head. "It's speeding along the Ground, not in Flight. We believe it to be..."
"Rumble rumble rumble!"
A deafening Engine Sound erupted, instantly drawing the Gaze of everyone in the Military Camp. They all turned their Line of Sight towards the Direction of the Sound. Only General Ross secretly slipped his Hand into his pocket, as if searching for something.
"Is that the Sound of a Harley?" A Soldier frowned, but quickly shook his head. While a Harley's Engine Sound is powerful, it's nowhere near as loud as that. You could tell Soldiers that was an Airplane Engine, and they'd believe you.
Yet, the truth was, a Red Shadow on an Old Fat Harley was crashing straight towards the Military Camp.
"Stop! Military Camp ahead!" a Soldier shouted through a Loudspeaker, but the rider on the Harley seemed to have not heard, continuing to crash towards the Military Camp.
"Open fire!" Seeing this, the Soldier didn't hesitate and immediately command to fire. Emptying the Magazine while issuing a Warning is their old tradition.
Dozens of Muzzle Flash erupted, and a Steel Storm of Bullets chased after the Red Shadow, but the figure continued to Charge straight ahead.
That Red Shadow was Frank, transformed into the Red Lantern. Of course, he wouldn't take these Soldiers' Weapons seriously. The temperature of his Rage alone could melt them into Molten Iron.
Frank's Gaze narrowed, and the Red Halo around him suddenly blazed like Flame. The intense Heat Wave made even Soldiers thousands of meters away feel a burning pain. Needless to say, the Bullets approaching Frank at high Speed simply melted into droplets of Molten Iron and fell to the Ground.
"Get out of the way, quick!" the commanding Soldier shouted. This Guy was clearly a Superhuman, far beyond their ability to handle. Better to get out of the way than get run down.
Frank felt the same way. As long as these Soldiers retreated obediently, he wouldn't harm them. After all, he'd once been a clueless Soldier himself. Revenge had its target; there was no need to vent Rage on these poor guys.
Just as he was about to break into the Military Camp, a Red Shadow descended from the sky, blocking Frank's Inevitable Path. Unlike Yang Le earlier, this person landed smoothly, without causing much commotion.
This allowed Frank to see the True Identity of the person blocking his way: Hyperion, the current strongest Superhuman and Leader of the Squadron Supreme. There were also rumors that he was General Ross's son.
But none of that mattered to Frank. All he knew was that if the other Guy didn't move, Frank would crush him.
No one could stop his Revenge.
