Chapter 453 Dance in Progress (2)
"Rumble rumble rumble!"
The roar of the helicopter naturally attracted the attention of many people, including Yang Le and Gwen. Yang Le, in particular, was very curious about the owner of the helicopter who made an even more flamboyant entrance than himself.
However, the two had already reached the venue of the dance, which was the doorway of the gymnasium. The distance to where the helicopter landed was too far. Naturally, Yang Le couldn't run over to check, but fortunately, Gwen was by his side.
"It's Howard Stark." Gwen narrowed her eyes. With vision far exceeding an ordinary person, she easily saw the person coming down from the helicopter and recognized that handsome uncle as Howard Stark, whom they had seen at the concert before.
"Then it's not surprising." Yang Le curled his lips. The reserved but flamboyant personality of the Stark family was passed down through generations. Clearly, Howard was not as mature and steady as he appeared on the surface.
However, these things had nothing to do with Yang Le and Gwen. Unlike in Universe 65B's Midtown High School, Gwen had never shown her musical talent in this universe. Even Katie only found out about Gwen's drum set a few days ago when she went to visit.
Because of this, Katie complained to Gwen quite a bit, and even wanted to tickle Gwen's ticklish spot as punishment. Helplessly, Gwen had to play a section of drum set on the spot to escape punishment.
"Hey Gwen!" A familiar voice full of energy sounded. Gwen turned her head and saw Katie, also wearing a formal dress, and happily greeted her.
"You look beautiful tonight." Katie admitted that she was amazed by Gwen. She had to say that Gwen, who had been raised in poverty, had her own unique insights on dressing herself up.
She could mix and match George's clothes and her mother's clothes and wear them without any sense of disharmony. Those somewhat outdated clothes were actually styled by her into a sense of fashion, not to mention now.
"Thank you, you too." Gwen responded with a smile.
"Yang Le too, I could tell you were a clothes rack a long time ago." Katie patted Yang Le's arm and felt the solid muscle hidden under the formal wear.
"Thank you for the compliment." Yang Le straightened his body. After nearly two years of training, his height had also been improved again, from the original 1.7 meters to the current 1.83 meters, which was a qualitative leap. However, it was still nothing compared to the tall and large Caucasians.
However, Yang Le's body proportions were very good. He was the type who looked muscular when undressed and slim when dressed. He was a true clothes rack who looked good in anything. Moreover, his current height was just right when standing with Gwen, who was 1.7 meters tall.
"Alright, I won't disturb you guys anymore." Katie showed a teasing smile. "You must really want to enjoy your private time now. I won't bother you."
"Are you alone, Katie?" Gwen leaned her head to look behind Katie, not finding her partner. "Actually, we wouldn't mind you joining us."
"Please, Gwen." Katie rolled her eyes at Gwen. "You need to have confidence in your good sisters, okay? I also have a male companion, he's over there."
Katie pointed behind her. A handsome young man with short brown hair was standing there. Seeing Yang Le and the others looking at him, he also waved his hand in response.
"Wow. Katie, I didn't even know you had a male companion." Gwen teased. "Why don't you have him come over too, so we can get to know each other."
"I'm not sure if I want to date him yet." Katie proudly raised her neck. "Let me observe him for a while before deciding. It would be very awkward if I just introduced him to you and then we broke up."
Yang Le didn't comment on Katie's idea. After all, in the comics, her lover Colossus had already been made miserable by her. Yang Le could only pray for that unknown gentleman that Katie in this universe was not the same as in the Main Universe.
The group chatted for a while, and then Katie reluctantly said goodbye to Gwen. After all, she still had a male companion and couldn't keep him waiting all the time.
"Now, do you have any good idea, Mr. Great Hero?" Gwen waved goodbye to Katie, then blinked her big eyes and looked at Yang Le.
"I think Spider-Woman might want to go to the dining table." Yang Le said seriously, looking like a British soldier on guard duty, which made Gwen unable to help but laugh.
Gwen nodded in agreement with Yang Le's suggestion. She was indeed hungry now. The all-around enhancement of Spider Superpower had put a considerable burden on her. At least she had become more able to eat than before. At school, in order not to arouse suspicion, she could only eat until she was half full. Only when she got home would she let go and eat a big meal.
For the preparation for attending the dance, she hadn't eaten much at home, only two energy bars. She was indeed a little hungry now.
Walking to the dining table, Gwen took an egg sandwich first and then ate it in small bites. To help Gwen cover, Yang Le also casually took a Mexican burrito.
There are always some novels that write about not being used to foreign snacks. In fact, there is no need to belittle one and praise the other. Just like Yang Le really liked the cucumber pickles in McDonald's, but his friend couldn't get used to them.
Each nation has its own flavor, which originates from the local customs and conditions. Yang Le felt that local food could show the history of a nation better than some cultural relics.
However, things with high oil and high sugar content are really easy to get tired of if you eat too much, but eating them occasionally is still good.
Watching Gwen's expression of joy because of the delicious food, Yang Le also felt happy from the bottom of his heart. A pair of foodie lovers just ate heartily, disregarding the gazes of those around them.
…
"It's a pleasure to see you again, Mr. Stark."
Howard, who was socializing with a group of people around him, suddenly heard a slightly familiar sound. He turned his head and saw Peter, who was showing admiring eyes.
"You are?" Howard's eyes showed hesitation. He had some impression of the young man in front of him, but not a deeper one.
"My name is Peter Parker. I am a researcher at United Biotechnology." Parker showed the nervousness of seeing an idol. "We met at the technology exhibition a year ago."
"It's you!"
Howard recalled for a moment, and then remembered Peter in the corner of his memory. He remembered that the young man in front of him was a very talented person. He had even tried to poach him, but of course, he had failed when facing Peter, who worked in his own company.
"I remember you, talented kid. You even rejected my invitation back then." Howard smiled, extended his hand, and put his arm around Peter, who showed an awkward expression.
"I've heard of United Biotechnology. It seems you guys have been researching the restoration of human body defects recently. Work hard. If you succeed, many soldiers will be saved because of it."
"You flatter me." Peter's expression was very complicated. There was the nervousness of facing an idol, the surprise of being recognized, and also the shyness of not being able to stand being watched by so many people.
Howard also noticed Peter's naive performance. He couldn't help but recall his own childhood. When he was just preparing to make a name for himself, he was also a naive young man like Peter. He couldn't help but feel more favorably towards Peter.
At the same time, he also gave up the idea of pulling Peter into Stark Industries. Such a great young man should not get on his pirate ship.
"Beep beep beep!"
Howard frowned slightly. The alarm on his wristwatch suddenly went off.
