Chapter 440: Uninvited Guest

"I'm just a passerby who helps when they see injustice. Judging who is right and wrong is the judge's job."

Yang Le waved his hand, refusing to comment. Doctor Spectrum on the side, however, seemed a bit overwhelmed.

"But what we were doing just now was to send her to see a judge!" Doctor Spectrum barely managed to swallow the swear words that were about to come out, but he still looked a bit hysterical.

"Doctor Spectrum is right, Mr. Yang." Arcanna tugged at Doctor Spectrum's clothes, signaling him to be quiet, as if saying, 'Can't you see our boss is still on the ground?'

"Our Supreme Squadron is one of the superhero groups recognized by the government, and we have official law enforcement power. We were just carrying out the arrest of the mutant Illyana."

Besides declaring the legitimacy of their arrest, these words actually had another layer of meaning that Arcanna didn't explicitly state. That is, the mutants' and Yang Le's previous actions had already constituted a series of illegal behavior such as obstructing arrest. However, Arcanna didn't say it outright.

Firstly, smart people could definitely understand it themselves. Secondly, based on the power Yang Le had shown before, national power was just a decoration in front of him. If the government didn't have Moonstone, they wouldn't even be able to deal with Hyperion and the others, let alone Yang Le who crushed Hyperion.

Hearing that the Supreme Squadron had law enforcement power, Yang Le was taken aback. This was the first time he had heard of it. Ordinary Superheroes are paradigms of volunteering. The vast majority of them do not have law enforcement power. However, because of the proliferation of super villains, the government, unable to solve these lawbreakers with great power, generally turns a blind eye to the actions of superheroes.

Of course, there are still a small number of Hero teams that have official endorsement, but at least in all versions of the Supreme Squadron that Yang Le knew, none of them had this privilege.

"Humph, being caught by you guys is just a dead end, isn't it?" Gambit sneered.

"That's because she took six human lives. She should pay the price for it!" Arcanna retorted sharply, unexpectedly, her righteous words only further aroused Magneto's dissatisfaction.

"Price!" Magneto said in a deep voice. Although his voice was not loud, it clearly reached the ears of everyone present.

"Then what about those humans who harmed mutants? Have they paid any price?"

"A year ago, a police officer took the life of a mutant in the interrogation room." Cyclops' voice trembled, as if suppressing something.

"The reason was just suspicion that he had telepathy. What's ridiculous is that the stupid human institutions didn't accurately test his ability. Just because his ability manifested as mind reading, he was beaten to death alive by that police officer in the interrogation room. Do you know what's even funnier?"

Arcanna was like a stranded fish. As a semi-official person and a superhero, she often paid attention to crime-related things. Of course, she knew about what Cyclops said. She even knew some inside story that ordinary person couldn't touch.

"It's that the entire police department knew about this." Scott's lips turned pale, his voice hoarse. "Those beasts in human clothing tried to make us believe that the mutant had been released, but Gambit discovered something unusual. He commissioned Beast to hack into the police department's surveillance so we could learn the truth of the matter."

"Human law enforcement institutions can never face mutants with a fair mentality."

Faced with the bloody truth, Doctor Spectrum and Arcanna couldn't say another word. Anyone who lived in this world knew that facing mutants, almost no judge could maintain absolute neutrality. Once a mutant was caught by law enforcement institutions, it was no different from being sent to the gallows.

Whether they were really executed or secretly swapped out, actually being sent to the laboratory as a guinea pig, neither was a good ending.

"Even if the previous matter was the fault of humans, she did take six human lives."

Yang Le lowered his head and noticed that Hyperion had already opened his eyes and was struggling to get up from the ground. If you ignored his tattered battle suit, Hyperion looked as if he was uninjured.

"I thought you were going to lie down for a while longer," Yang Le teased.

These words seemed like Yang Le had miscalculated the time it took for him to stun Hyperion. But in fact, it wasn't. Yang Le, with super hearing, had long noticed the subtle changes in Hyperion's body. In fact, Hyperion had already woken up when Doctor Spectrum opened his mouth. He had just been pretending to be asleep all along.

Hyperion naturally understood Yang Le's implied meaning. A trace of embarrassment appeared on his face, but it quickly disappeared, and he once again put on that righteous expression.

"So what?" Magneto retorted. "Humans can kill mutants, so can't mutants kill humans? Why can the former escape legal punishment, but not the latter?"

"I can tell you the truth, if Charles hadn't had a mental breakdown and become unrecognizable, I would never have killed him with my own hand. Instead, I would have stood with him on the same battle line."

Magneto calmly said terrifying words, causing everyone in the Supreme Squadron to change their faces. Seeing Magneto's attitude, they understood that things probably wouldn't end peacefully today.

"I really heard some incredible words as soon as I arrived."

A strange sound appeared out of thin air. Before the people present could figure out where the sound came from, a portal burning with orange sparks suddenly opened in front of everyone.

Seeing that iconic portal, Magneto couldn't help but frown. In contrast, Arcanna was beaming with joy.

"Sorcerer Supreme." Magneto frowned deeply, his tone carrying a hint of vigilance.

Following Magneto's introduction, a middle-aged man wearing a red stand-up collar cape, a bright blue bodysuit, and a huge pendant hanging on his chest walked out of the portal. Accompanying him was another middle-aged man wearing a well-tailored blue suit. Yang Le recognized both of these people.

One was the famous Sorcerer Supreme Stephen Strange. It seemed that the Sorcerer Supreme of this universe was still him. The other was Tony Stark's dad, Howard Stark, who was also the Iron Man of this universe.

"And Stark too?" Magneto frowned even deeper. "What are you two here for? Do you also want to arrest my compatriot?"

Before Magneto finished speaking, he was already prepared for battle. Facing the enemies in front of him now, even he felt considerable pressure. Although Hyperion was powerful, he was not particularly tricky for Magneto. As for Howard, Magneto didn't take him seriously at all. All of his current armor were completely restrained by him and posed no threat at all.

Only the Sorcerer Supreme, this magician with all sorts of abilities, was the real trouble in Magneto's eyes.
