Chapter 322 Young Justice League

Although he didn't know what had happened, Batman's majesty, combined with some inner turmoil, meant that by the time Dick came to his senses, he was already standing next to Wally, joining the ranks of those being punished.

"You finally woke up, sleepyhead."

Dick had just steadied himself when Wally's voice echoed in his brain. He knew instantly it was Megan's Telepathy.

"What exactly happened?" Dick ignored Wally's taunt. "Weren't the Justice League attacked? Why does everyone look fine?"

Just as Dick said, the uniforms of the Justice League members who had been tied to the Cross were tattered, clearly showing signs of a fierce battle. Yet, everyone he had just seen was completely unharmed. If it weren't for the traces of their fight still visible in the Hall, Dick would have thought it had all been a dream.

"Actually, we're not entirely sure either," Megan's voice chimed in. "After you all passed out, it was just Roy and me. Roy's plan was to hold off the enemies while I went to get help."

"But while I was escaping, I bumped into Uncle Rong En, who should have been tied to the Cross," Megan's voice was incredulous. "He stopped me and brought me back to the Hall. When we got back, I saw you guys collapsed and the Justice League members completely unharmed."

"Guys, I think we might have been played," Dick guessed, piecing together the events.

The others wanted to continue talking, but the Justice League members approached them, including Yang Le in his Lightning Snow Monster form. Even though they knew Telepathy wouldn't be overheard by the adults, they all fell silent, like children whispering secrets.

"I presume you've already guessed," Batman said, Opening the conversation. "This was a Test for you."

"I knew it," Dick sighed. He didn't need to guess to know his performance wouldn't be good; after all, they had been defeated in the end.

"Robin."

Even though Dick was mentally prepared, he still jumped slightly at Batman's voice. He immediately stood ramrod straight, as proper as a real Boy Scout.

"During the attack in the Safe Room, you reacted instantly after inhaling the Hypnotic Gas, sending me an SOS signal. In the subsequent operation, you also minimized your presence and provided assistance to your Partner at crucial moments. These two aspects you did very well, but..."

As everyone knows, what comes after "but" is always the most important. Dick wasn't overly... okay, he was still a little pleased when Batman praised him, but he knew the real critique was coming.

"However, after defeating the opponent, you didn't immediately confirm the enemy's State, nor did you rescue the Hostage. While helping up your fallen teammate is commendable, the Choice you made afterward was simply appalling. If this hadn't been a Test, you would have already lost your lives."

Dick lowered his Head. Batman was right; he had relaxed his Alert after seeing Yang Le fall. That alone was enough to make him feel ashamed.

"Aqualad."

Batman shifted his focus, turning to Aqualad beside him.

"Your performance in the Safe Room was commendable. In the subsequent battle, you also fulfilled your Duty, diligently trying to restrain an enemy whose Physical Ability far surpassed your Partner's. As for the actions after defeating the enemy, you were directly hit by a Flashbang, so the fault isn't yours. Overall, your performance is satisfactory."

"Kid Flash." Batman turned to Wally, who was desperately trying to shrink into himself. "Ruckus—that single word is enough to evaluate your entire performance. Abandoning your teammates to enter an unknown area alone, and then getting captured by the enemy. If this hadn't been a Test, you might have caused your teammates to lose their lives because of it."

Ignoring Wally, who was practically trying to disappear into his own chest, Batman shifted his focus to Roy and Megan.

"Speedy, your support was good, but as a marksman, you should also be responsible for information gathering. That means you should have been watching the fallen enemy. Yet, the enemy had already reached your teammate's side, and you had no reaction."

"Martian Girl, as a Martian, you possess the same Superpower as Martian Manhunter. Your Telepathy communication was excellent, but why didn't you use Mental Impact on the enemy?"

Megan quickly replied, "Because Mental Impact has very little effect on the opponent."

"Weak doesn't mean nonexistent," Batman said, his eyes flickering, as if lost in thought. "And your Physical Ability should be comparable to Aqualad's. Why didn't you assist him in attacking from the side?"

"Because Dick didn't assign me such a Mission," Megan said hesitantly. "And also, I haven't had any combat training, so I was afraid of getting in the way. I only dared to use Mental Abilities for support."

Batman glanced at Ronn beside him and nodded after receiving confirmation.

"Alright, that's understandable. Escaping to seek help afterward was a good decision."

"That was Speedy's Idea," Megan mumbled quietly.

"Ruckus, arrogance, lack of Alertness, too childish," Batman continued, ignoring Megan's comment. "This is our evaluation of you in this Simulation Test."

"Frankly, your performance doesn't befit the Identity of full Justice League members. Therefore, regarding your Application to join the Justice League, we have unanimously decided to reject it."

Robin sighed in resignation. Wally scratched his Hair, looking frustrated. Jackson lowered his Head in shame. Roy clenched his Fist, wanting to argue but finding no Reason. Megan clutched the hem of her uniform, her Head drooping in dejection.

"But!"

Just as mentioned before, what comes after "but" is always the most important. The assistants lifted their Heads in Confusion. Could there be a turning point?

"The positive aspects of your performance in this Test can't be ignored either," Superman said, stepping forward with a smile. He stood to Batman's right, creating a symmetrical image of a smiling face and a cold face.

"And the fact that you achieved this level of cooperation in just one attempt is truly Surprising to us. So, after discussion, we've decided to let you continue working together."

"What does that mean?" Dick asked, a little Daze, not understanding Superman's meaning.

"Young Justice League," Batman announced, uttering a term none of them had heard before. "You can think of it as the Reserve of the Justice League. We've created it specifically for you. It's a Subordinate Organization of the Justice League, receiving instructions from the Justice League to complete Missions."

"And that's not all," Superman added, seeing their Daze and dropping another bombshell. "You'll have your own Base—Justice Mountain. As for your Leader..."

The others parted, revealing Yang Le, who had been standing behind, slacking off.
